The jury is still out on Manchester United’s Fantasy assets going into the new campaign.

The new manager bounce that the club experienced after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment in December gave way to some middling form in the final nine Gameweeks of the season.

Their pre-season results (five wins from six) have been quietly encouraging, at least, with Inter Milan and Spurs among the teams already beaten in July.

This latest Numbers Game piece differs from the usual format as we focus on the impact Solskjaer had on United’s assets in the second half of last season.

The Norwegian first took charge of the Red Devils in Gameweek 18, so we will examine United’s stats before and after the departure of Jose Mourinho.

    Here are the questions that are on my mind at the moment:

    1) Greenwood's not going to get a game, is he?
    2) Mcginn's getting a lot of attention on these pages. Is he the best 5.5 midfielder do you think?
    3) I like to be able too rotate all my players (yes, I know that goes against the opinions of many, but I've been doing this a long time and I find my way more fun). Who do you think are the best 4.5 defenders?

      1.Greenwood will probably only get ninuted from the bench, but most likely aren't any other 4.5m strikers that will get as many minutes so.
      2.Mcginn is wait and see for me. As all the newcomers are(except for the 4.5/4m players).

    I'm so torn on Moura. He's in great form and I think he'll do really well in GW1. But also don't like that he could be a transfer waiting to happen. Do you think Alli's injury increases Moura's chances of playing in GW3? That would be the clincher for me.

      Hard to give an exact answer, because the process isn't that simple, but a rough rule of thumb is that it will be 3 times a week - Monday, Thursday and Friday - though there are smaller ones all the time.

    Can't believe Abraham only in 2.5% odd of teams. I mean he's not in mine as have my own punty strikers, but given he's almost certain to start for Chelsea up front gw1 surprised to not see him in many sides while barkley and Pulisic are people's chelsea punts of choice. Is it because people expect him to lose his place, get subbed every game or just not very good?

      I think there is more certinaty in the fwd bracket(i.e Wilson) so people choose certinaty. The MID bracket is much more a gamble so it doesnt matter which one you choose.

    Here's a thought.. Will CBs benefit this year from VAR?
    There are 2 reasons..
    1) if pulled down in the box this year it'll be a penalty.. So assists galore
    2) if opposing defenders are wary about VAR they won't be able to claw and elbow attacking CBs.. Which will lead to it becoming easier for them to score goals(look at the world cup and the likes of mina, maguire and even stones)
