Fantasy Premier League managers will have to be shrewd in their decision making when it comes to picking Sheffield United players for the remainder of the season.

Their Double Gameweek in the opening round has heightened interest in their assets but it can be difficult to work out which ones are the best to consider without looking at the underlying statistics.

We are continuing our series of refresher articles, highlighting the best players at each club in the period just before the coronavirus suspension.

As we are sure you understand, a lot has changed since the climax of Gameweek 29, with Premier League players unable to fully train with their team-mates for nearly three months. 

However, it should still serve to know who was performing best before the break.

    Considering Mount over Grealish as I think it'll be tough for Villa to do much vs. Sheff and Chelsea but the double is tempting. Thoughts?

      It looks good. The Maddison pick could be a decent differential with people either avoiding Leicester this week or jumping on Barnes instead because of his price.

      I was thinking of Barnes instead of Grealish but Grealish is guaranteed 180 minutes (if fit) and at least 4 points. Personally I think you should stick for now.

        Cheers mate, love Maddison as a player and think Leicester will do damage against Watford. Main playmaker in that team. Grealish vs single GW player who has a better fixture is the big question.

      I never really considered him until the other day because I cant see him playing 180 minutes but his goal threat was the deciding factor especially if United can't keep a clean sheet.

    Building a team long term (no WC), and planning to BB in 30+.

    Hendo, Leno
    TAA, O'Connell, Saiss, Taylor, Lascelles
    Salah/Mané, KDB, Fernandes, Grealish, Barnes
    Kun, Jimenez, Nketiah

    Think I found a good balance between DGW players and SGW players to keep long term, but I have a dilemma with Taylor. He's got an awful fixture (City away) meaning I'm kinda bench boosting with 3 players. Thinking of doing Taylor > Lundy, but that would probably mean taking a -4 down the line to sort that triple SHU def. Is it worth it?

        Money is not an issue, I have enough in the bank to directly do the switch. It's just an issue of keeping him for the double knowing he could end up with negative returns if things went really wrong, or selling him for Lundy and getting him back later.

          I think you should go for Lundy then pal especially for a BB. If Lundy scores he can probably repay the future -4 or is an easy switch to someone like Soyuncu, Taylor or Aurier in the future 🙂

            Thanks for your input. Yeah, I'm leaning towards that, but I don't like the idea of committing to a triple SHU defence that will be of no use past the DGW. Henderson will already be an issue given his price, and getting Lundy would add another one.

            I see you have 3 SHU players too, do you have a plan for them afterwards?

              GW31 - Aguero to Vardy
              GW32 - Grealish to Martial
              GW 33 - Lundstrum to Maguire

                Yeah I'm looking at something similar, with Rashford and Son instead of Vardy and Martial, but if I do get Lundstram I'll be outpriced. Guess there is no way around that hit.

      I think it is worth it. You will probably sell Henderson for a 4.0 anyway to free funds and play Leno through to the season end.

        Yeah, that's exactly why I'm not sure. I'm already committing a transfer down the line for Henderson, don't know if it's a good idea to commit another one for Lundstram.

      The main drawback of Jota vs Jimenez is that he tends to get substituted a lot, but there is a significant price difference and the other players in that price bracket are Pukki, DCL, Samatta etc so I do think he's a step above

      1. Alonso - Fairly likely imo , was on fire before the restart , I'd say 70-30 in his favour
      2. Mount - More certain of a start, maybe with RLC to sub on late
      3. Pulisic - very difficult to say , lot of competition on the wings with Pedro , Willian etc even with CHO injured

      If I was punting on one of those three I'd go Mount
