With just days to go before the Premier League season restarts, our series of team-by-team refresher articles continues with a look at Southampton.

Taking data from Gameweeks 24-29 as a jumping-off point for wider analysis, we will be discussing the players from Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad who most catch the eye.

Fantasy managers may well be swerving the Saints to start off, with some tricky matches to come between Gameweeks 31+ and 35+.

Should the south coast club still have ‘something to play for’ come the fixture swing in Gameweek 36+, however, then they will likely re-enter the radar at that point.

      How many dgw players do you think get 2 games?

      I don’t personally see much in it

      Kdb Sterling auba + Sheffield Utd defence are the go to guys

      So then who else has got a good game - if I wasn’t BB and thinking long term with no WC I’d be picking Tammy for sure

      I’m liking spurs Utd tbh - there will be goals - plenty to play for

      And Jimenez has to get a shout as does Doherty and jota

        No unfortunately it’s a PS exclusive - it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say its worth buying one for the first one alone though

        Itt’s one of the most well written stories/character studies you’ll find in any form of media, and then just happens to play really well into the bargain

        Being realistic - the sequel is almost certain to disappoint given how high the bar was set

            Ya I think they actually used a lot of the uncharted engine for TLOU - it played very similarly - just like a really really dark bleak version of it...basically swapping Nathan for Joel!

            Apparently HBO are actually making a TV Series of it now too which hopefully will be the show that he walking dead should have been - hope they get it right

            Can’t actually believe the sequel is finally here, I’ve played through the first one so many times at his stage, always seems to have great replay value

      If you're FH for GW30+ you might want to focus on players with great fixtures / DGW, e.g. some Arsenal coverage, maxing out on SHU, adding Grealish, etc

        Nah not on FH, just using the unlimited transfers to refresh and can then FH later on at some point in a SGW. The team i'd be going back to if i FH this GW wouldn't be that good i guess.
        I don't like Grealish, fixtures are awful and often flatters to decieve really.
        Arsenal apart from Auba i wouldn't want anyone else, and Aguero takes that slot. Cheers tho bud.

        Yes can see that as decent option as guaranteed to start
        ( Stevens most at risk of not getting 2 starts) and attacking potential from both. I think SHU will concede v Villa and get clean sheet v Newcastle so ( less any bonus) minimum 8 points per defender. Fleck may get 1 goal so say minimum 9 points. Think personally will stick with Baldock Fleck

              Personally I'm not sure about Alonso, especially as he's being linked with a move away, but that's just my opinion. I think Trent is a good pick whatever the fixture, and so is Mane, though I'm not so sure which Liverpool we'll get after this break (the one from earlier in the season or the one that lost to Watford just beforehand). Also not sure about McGinn as mentioned. Two games or not, I'm just not certain of his points potential. Hard to say which of those I prefer though as they're a mix of different positions (some have more defenders). I prefer Bruno over Martial so maybe number 2. That being said, the best advice is never to listen to anyone on these websites, trust your gut. No one knows for sure!

                Thanks for the detailed analysis. I really appreciate it. 🙂 The reason for the inconsistency on the number of defenders etc is because I’m considering different formations. In all cases, I’m going with triple SHU defence.

              Doherty is the pick but you get what you pay for.

              If you're happy to ride the attacking returns and base on this; Dherty + Taylor and Maguire + Boly

              Then the latter is better.
