Want to work for Fantasy Football Scout? Get in touch

As we gear up for the start of the 2020/21 season, we at Fantasy Football Scout are frantically working behind the scenes to make improvements for our site users and subscribers.

We have a number of exciting developments in the pipeline but we’ll need an additional body to help us roll out the changes we have planned.

This time we are looking for someone to take on a full-time tech-based role.

We want a front-end web developer with experience capturing requirements and delivering projects.

We are looking for the following skills from our candidates:

FRONT-END

  • HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Sass
  • React
  • jQuery
  • Bootstrap
  • AJAX

EXPERIENCE

  • BSC Computer Science or related 2.1 min
  • Two years minimum commercial experience

We mostly work remotely but, on occasion, we like to get together in person – so if you are based in/around London (or able to work there now and again), that would be beneficial.

However, those that work outside of London should most definitely still apply. Talent is more important to us than postcode!

Flexibility of hours is also preferable.

Based on past experience with our job adverts, we need to stress that it may take a little time to look through and respond to applications.

If you want to get involved with the next chapter of the site, please drop us a line with your CV at jobs@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

First two drafts, which looks better.

    McCarthy, Peacock-Farrell
    Trent, Vinagre, Taylor, Ferguson, Branthwaite
    Salah, KDB, Ziyech, Greenwood, Soucek
    Jimenez, Ings, Mitrovic
    0.0m ITB

    McCarthy, Peacock-Farrell
    Trent, Vinagre, Taylor, Dallas, Ferguson
    Salah, KDB, Greenwood, Soucek, Stephens
    Werner, Jimenez, Mitrovic
    2.0m ITB

The second, but spend that £2.0m! The first one has too many £4.0m’s in defence.

      Both pretty decent in fairness.

      I've changed again to this:-
      McCarthy
      TAA Vinagre Saliba
      Salah KDB Foden Soucek
      Werner Jimenez Ings

      Nyland ASM Mitchell Branthwaite

Salah captaincy is a major reason why he'll be popular. Otherwise I might have said Ziyech and Son.

      B in isolation, I think

Over the course of the season, possibly B. If we knew how nailed on Foden would be, and say he plays about 2500-2800 mins, it's a tossup between B and C for me.

What about this for a first draft? I’m very happy with it except for the omission of Mo.

    McCarthy
    TAA/Dallas\Vinagre
    KDB/Bruno/Son/Ziyech
    Werner/Antonio/Mitrovic

    Ryan/Soucek/Ayling/Bernardo

    1. Arron Wan Bissaka Nil

Yeah it’s definitely a gamble. My thinking is that one of those two is going to be awesome and I can move on the one that isn’t. It’ll really depend on Leeds’ opening fixtures as to whether I keep Ayling.

Thoughts on a triple Liverpool back line and keeping them in all season? I added all their combined points up from last 2 seasons and divided it 76 and their combined average works out at 15.4pts per game!

I tried tinkering with different teams and have come up with these:

    Option (1)
    Pope
    Robo, TAA, VVd
Aub, Mahrez, Rashford, S Maximin, Soucek
    Werner, Mitrovic

    Button, KWP, Vinagre, Davis

    Option (2)
    Pope
    Robo, TAA, VVd
Ziyech, Kdb, Bruno, S Maximin, Soucek
    Werner, Mitrovic

    Button, KWP, Vinagre, Davis

Appreciate would have to tiker on defence when Pool miss a gameweek, but i weirdly like the idea

Try posting with just the differences..

      a) Auba, Mahrez, Rashford

      The obvious winner is b)

the second option is very similar to my draft, currently i'm doubling up. i like the second option as you can Cap home player out of KDB and Bruno.

would be ballsy but could pay off. Some of the top guys last year never really touched Salah or Mane if I recall.

Option 1 with McCarthy/KDB/Greenwood for Pope/Mahrez/Rashford would be nice imo

Apparently Leeds bid £30m for Ben White, who was on loan with them last season, but it was rejected.

Liverpool, Chelsea, United all rumoured to be interested in him too.

Sounds like he's quite the CB. Leeds defence will surely be much weaker without him...

He's quite highly thought of, and for the big clubs he fills the homegrown quota as well. I think that's why Brighton would like to keep him unless a significant offer comes in.

Admittedly the source is from a fan channel on Youtube: Source for the Leeds bid: https://youtu.be/oj14DmsFmD4?t=238

But they're usually very good with their sources. They tend to focus on Tier 1 journalists, they even have a weekly podcast where Tier 1 journalist comes on for an interview (Fabricio Romano was on on last week). They also know a lot of United staff and ex players. Evra has been on a few times. Random plug, but good channel to follow.

An article here last year did an analysis on subs that educated me. The third sub is called on almost never, and the second sub much more rarely than I'd thought. So unless you have a rotation strategy, if your first XI are reasonably secure, one playing sub will get you through all but a few fixtures.

If you ask any of the PL managers which competition they focus on, they'll give you the canned "all are equally important" soundbite. However, if a manager HAS to make a choice, which competition (Domestic League vs CL) do you think each top 6 manager will focus on this year? For example, here is my best guess:
Klopp - Domestic (to retain domestic champion status)
    Pep - CL
    Ole - Domestic
    Lampard - Domestic

    1. Licky
      • 11 Years

It's impossible to say, the truth is, certainly, that for Liverpool and City the league and europe will be competitions they want to do well in, at some point they may be faced with a choice to go for one or the other but from the outset it'll be both.

Fixtures may be more of a distraction, basically

I know fixtures aren't out yet but how does this look?

    McCarthy, Nyland
    TAA, Salibi, Vinagre, Taylor, Ferguson
    Salah, KDB, Bruno, Traore*, ASM
    Werner, Antonio, Davis

The 4.5 defenders can switch a lot. Been thinking about Ayling/Dallas and KWP also.

*Traore will become Matheus Pereira and funds will be then spread depending on the price.

Greenwood & Foden = £14m, ASM & Perreria = ~£12m. I just don't see how the former doesn't outscore the latter by a lot more than £2m worth of points.

    Sterling over Auba?

If you want only one from Chelsea, which?

    1. Werner
    2. Ziyech

      Werner imo.

1 - Werner essential, he will get similar figure to Auba last season. Ziyech is a great differential though (did you read the FFS article on him?)

Chelsea strikers do not have a good record, Giroud and Tammy to rotate too

          That costa lad did alright

Yes, I did and that's what making me reconsider my Werner Pick. Ziyech is 1.5 cheaper and will get an extra point for goals and CS. His numbers suggest he could be the true challenger to KDB - the assist king.

1 by far for me. I would first like to see where Ziyech is going to play on the pitch

Even Werner is not tested in PL. He could very well rotate with Giru, who has done fantastically well since the restart, and Tammy, who was great during the initial stages of the season.

Yes, any newcomer to PL is risky pick, that's why I haven't decided yet if I'm going to have him from the start. But from the two I prefer Werner.

I'm trying to see minutes played for Leeds players last season. Is there a way to do so?

Can't squeeze Salah Auba KDB and Fernandes in! I feel Fernandes has the best alternatives in Martial and Greenwood?

Value was in the 6-7 mil forwards last season. Really hope H.Wilson goes Southampton!

    Ryan/McCarthy 4.0
    TAA Vinagre Taylor 4.5 4.0
    Salah Auba KDB Greenwood

I don't think one up top is a viable option especially with it being wood or Antonio, injury prone and no sub.

Long way to go but Salah owned by 26% and Mané by just 8%, KDB by 62% (!) and Sterling just 9%.

FPL didn't do a very good job when pricing players this season imo. Mane is too expensive, KDB is too cheap.

Switch the City boys and this was just about the same last season I suspect even in week 2 when Mane was back

Is there a way to compare promoted team's players on FFS members area without going to other external websites? Like I want to use comparison tool between Ayling and Dallas, or see who played the most minutes of Leeds players last season?
