Mitrovic and Cairney return for Fulham as Wilson leads Newcastle attack

Scott Parker has recalled Aleksandar Mitrovic (£5.5m) and Tom Cairney (£5.3m) to the Fulham line-up for their Gameweek 14 trip to Newcastle.

The two players have not started a match together since Gameweek 8 although the Cottagers have improved in their absence, picking up a win and two draws since Gameweek 9.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid (£5.3m) and Ruben Loftus-Cheek (£5.9m) are the men to make way as Ivan Cavaleiro (£5.3m) returns to the flanks of attacking midfield.

Accordingly, Mitrović and Cairney have reclaimed their centre-forward and number 10 roles respectively.

The main Fantasy Premier League interest tonight, of course, is in Callum Wilson (£6.6m), currently owned by 17.4% of managers worldwide.

The former Bournemouth man has averaged six points per game since returning from injury, although Fulham’s defence has improved in that time, conceding just three goals against Manchester City and Liverpool combined.

Newcastle United XI: Darlow; Dummett, Clark, Fernández, Yedlin; Ritchie, Shelvey, S Longstaff, Almirón; Joelinton, C Wilson.

Fulham XI: Areola; A Robinson, Andersen, Adarabioyo, Aina; Zambo Anguissa, Lemina; Lookman, Cairney, Cavaleiro; Mitrović.

Thinking Lamptey > Dier this gw giving me

    Martinez
    Dias - Dier - KWP
    Salah - KDB - Bruno - Grealish - Son
    Wilson - Bamford

    Button - Taylor - Mitchell - Davis

Have 2 FT and 0.9m in the bank. Thoughts? 🙂

I like this strategy too. Currently have these players for 18.

            Martinez
            Cancelo Lewis
            KDB Son
            DCL Watkins

Would need a few transfers and gtg. Only problem is i don't have Salah now and would have to sell KDB before 18.

I've always used FH on double gameweeks because it's just more fun. Downside is having to plan for the blanks that's usually bad teams. I guess a few ManCity, Spurs and DCL will do.

This period of signing inexperienced/unproven managers like Ole, Lampard and Arteta while managers like Pochettino and Allegri sit twiddling their thumbs is truly baffling. At least Everton made the right decision and picked the world class manager in Ancelotti over Arteta

I don't usually do transfers this early, but I can do KDB + Justin -> Son + Robertson (2 FT) for exact cash if I sell KDB before his price drop. I can hold off on the Justin -> Robbo part a couple more days in case of an injury as Robbo doesn't look like rising yet.

        Do KDB -> Son now?

Just came back and checked the scores. So doing Salah > KDB ahead of West Brom at home went well then! Muppet

I’d earmarked KdB for captain vs Newcastle and having just done KDB back to Salah I now have no City. I could do Kane to Aguero if it looks like he’ll start? Already have Son and doubt Kane will haul away at wolves

May just be time to get Mr. You know nothing John Stones, despite the rotation risk.

Pepe a classic example of a player who comes from one of the non-big clubs in a European league to the PL and doesn't live up to their stats and meet expectations.

PL is the strongest European league. It is why the English clubs keep getting to CL semi-finals and EL finals. And in the EL, the PL clubs get away with playing their second teams a lot of the time.

If you're buying into the PL and you're buying from a club that isn't Ajax, Porto, Juventus, PSG, Dortmund, Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, then you are probably (not always, but more likely than not) buying a player who isn't going to be as good as their stats suggest when they are in the PL.
