The deadline for Gameweek 8 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is almost upon us – and we’ve got everything you need to help you with your transfers and captaincy decisions on this page.

All of these pieces preceded the Friday-night announcement from Spurs that two of their players had tested positive for Covid-19, with The Times suggesting that Son Heung-min (£10.1m) wouldn’t be involved in the Lilywhites’ clash with Newcastle on Sunday. We should stress, of course, that this remains only media and internet speculation and we’ve yet to have any concrete proof on the FPL assets affected.

    The Son rumours are rubbish right? Just fabricated by someone on Twitter looking for clout, and then spread by others on Twitter as an excuse to create content and sell the product (FPL Mate cough cough)?

    With Nuno's pathetic press conferences meaning that any players could be named as the infectees and the rumour has legs...

      A couple of things add some weight (but aren't definitive). The player trained the day prior to the announcement (Son was one such player, unlike, say, the South American contingent), and Nuno said it means he cannot select the same lineup he did versus Villa. So the actual pool of players is reasonably small.

        I saw this as someone who has picked Son on wildcard and still sitting with him in my squad. I am leaning towards the rumours being correct (main twitter source does look like me might be an ITK) but I would be gutted it I took him out and it was smoke and mirrors BS so might just carry him a couple of weeks if necessary
