The deadline for Gameweek 8 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is almost upon us – and we’ve got everything you need to help you with your transfers and captaincy decisions on this page.

All of these pieces preceded the Friday-night announcement from Spurs that two of their players had tested positive for Covid-19, with The Times suggesting that Son Heung-min (£10.1m) wouldn’t be involved in the Lilywhites’ clash with Newcastle on Sunday. We should stress, of course, that this remains only media and internet speculation and we’ve yet to have any concrete proof on the FPL assets affected.

      I had Livramento and Mbeumo the other way round on bench. If Raphinha doesn't play, I fancy Livramento against Leeds minus Bamford and Raphinha.

    Been switching captaincy between Salah and Lukaku all morning...hate the early kick off captain option!

    Had the armband on Rom and went to switch back to Mo at 11am but refreshed to "game is updating and will be available soon"!!!

      I think Werner could be a good shout. Obviously very risky, but surely his confidence can only improve and playing off the likes of Lukaku should help his game. He wasn't cut out to be a lone CF like he was playing for a lot of last season.

      But you need to balance up who else he allows you to have. He isn't in the top 15 defenders for points per £. He gets more points but as part of a three with two weaker players, my three with an extra £3million has scored more every GW bar one.

      Well, you have more time to set up the team, but I can understand it could be tedious to protract it onto two weeks. But injuries on international duty, and new players having more time to get fit and ready to compete for a spot is a mess.

    Have i made a big error in choosing Laporte over other City defenders. I think i`ve missed the boat and now Stones is going to replace him for the foreseeable future. Hope thats not the case. should have gone DIas instead as i had the money.

    Took my first hit of the season this week, was a risky one too in bringing in Foden (although I do still have bench cover for this week) but I was close to taking one for weeks and kept putting it off and was eyeing up Foden for a few weeks for this run so I went for it. Good luck all
