Win £10,000 for free with Fantasy5 by picking the best players for Gameweek 14

Sponsored by Fantasy5

A little bit of extra cash always comes in handy at this time of year – and you could have £10k in your back pocket by the end of Gameweek 14, simply by predicting Fantasy points returns in five Premier League matches on Wednesday and Thursday.

And, best of all, it’s completely free to play!

We’re talking about Fantasy5, where there are also various other prizes (including a copy of FIFA 22 this week) on offer beyond the whopping jackpot.

Image

You can even set up a mini-league and compete with colleagues, friends and family – something we’ve done.

Fantasy Football Scout recently unveiled a nine-week battle that pits ten staff members and Pro Pundits against each other. To determine who truly has the best eye for a Fantasy player, the FFS Challenge mini-league will take place between Gameweeks 12 and 20.

A small prize is up for grabs but, more importantly, so are bragging rights. Below the ‘how to’, you can see which players the Scout crew have selected for Gameweek 14.

HOW DOES FANTASY 5 WORK?

Image

Fantasy5 is free to play and it follows the exact same scoring system as FPL, just without the bonus points.

It’s as simple as this: pick a player from each of the five Gameweek 14 matches below and, if they all exceed their individual ‘points targets’ (a par score set by Fantasy5), you’ll be in the money:

  • Wolves vs Burnley
  • Southampton vs Leicester City
  • Everton vs Liverpool
  • Tottenham Hotspur vs Brentford
  • Manchester United vs Arsenal

Anyone who manages to pick five successful outperformers will be in the money, with a £10,000 prize up for grabs!

Even if you don’t succeed in getting all five right, Fantasy5’s leaderboard allows you to win prizes beyond the £10k jackpot – there’s £500 up for grabs for the Fantasy manager topping the leaderboard

Competition is limited to one entry per person per round. Full terms and conditions are here.

The deadline for this week’s entries is at 19:30 GMT on Wednesday December 1.

£100 prize every month in Scout's Fantasy5 mini-league

SCOUT’S PICKS FOR GAMEWEEK 14 OF FANTASY5

The FFS Challenge has had two rounds – here is the current mini-league table:

Nobody got any right for Gameweek 13, although 20% of this is because of the postponed Burnley vs Spurs match. The only players to exceed their target were Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota, Andrew Robertson, Jadon Sancho, Marc Guehi, Ashley Young, John McGinn and Matt Targett.

The most-selected players for each match are:

  • Wolves vs Burnley: Jimenez (8), Saiss (1), Semedo (1)
  • Southampton vs Leicester City: Maddison (4), Vardy (3)
  • Everton vs Liverpool: Robertson (5), van Dijk (2)
  • Tottenham Hotspur vs Brentford: Reguilon (6), Kane (4)
  • Manchester United vs Arsenal: Sancho (7), Ronaldo (3)

Raul Jimenez almost achieves complete domination this Gameweek, with eight nominations. In each of the three times he has started against Burnley, Jimenez has scored a goal and walked away with bonus points. After an underwhelming season so far, Leicester City were attractive to watch against Watford and emerged 4-2 victors. Jamie Vardy ended his four-game barren streak by scoring twice, yet James Maddison‘s goal and two assists made him the Gameweek’s top scorer. Only one Southampton player has been chosen – possibly because their heavy defeat to Liverpool, combined with Leicester scoring four, may bring fears that Leicester will win 9-0 at St Mary’s again, like in 2019/20.

Both that match and the Merseyside derby have the most variation this time, as the ten are unsure which Liverpool player to back when they all have such high points targets. Andrew Robertson has been nominated by five because Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota all have a double-digit target and the Scottish international’s is one fewer than Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Fresh from having no weekend match, Spurs are fully-backed at home to Brentford. Sergio Reguilon has been assigned a generous 6.5 target, considering he’s a wing-back that scored in their last home game. On this occasion, Harry Kane has a lower target than Son Heung-min, gaining him four picks. Manchester United v Arsenal doesn’t provide many appealing options but Jadon Sancho scored his first league goal of the season on Sunday and is a player rated by new interim manager Ralf Rangnick. Maybe he will become the cheaper FPL alternative to Cristiano Ronaldo, although the striker has been backed by three to regain his place in the starting XI and score.

Seen a bit of discussion around Antonio. A lot of people are likely either holding for West Ham's good run or looking to get him back in, but are we forgetting his fitness/injury history and how much Moyes has had to manage him this season to keep him fit?

The Burnley-Arsenal-Norwich run (GW16-18) all takes place within 7 days
    - The Soton-Watford-Palace run (GW19-21) takes place within 7 (with exactly 48 hours between the kick-offs of Soton and Watford)
    - Antonio has only played 1 midweek game in the last 2 months and he came off at 58 minutes

Everyone will be prone to rotation but I really wonder if he's worth going for again during this period, could easily see him missing 2-3 of those 6 matches and can't see him finishing many of those that he starts.

Honestly, I'm looking to ship him out before the heavy festive schedule. Like you say, his minutes will be severely managed and I feel Bowen is a better (more reliable) option in that run.

I wonder is some level of fatigue affecting him? Would usually do well and scoring for a run of games, then injury would force him to rest, back again refreshed and hits another burst of form. 4 goals in first 3 games but just 2 goals in his last 9 games. There aren't many better PL forwards than Antonio when he's on top form but there are potential form alternatives now in Wilson, Pukki and Bamford and Calvert Lewin nearly back.

Ive seen this mentioned a bit since yesterday and what is the reason to want to replace him? Started the season priced at 5.5m and he’s the 3rd highest scoring midfielder in the game.

32 points in his last 5 matches and has okay fixtures to come. Isn’t it just better to not keep changing who you pick in that price bracket?

I thinking selling Alonso for Rudiger.

"Does Marcos now have to play eight matches every three days? Is that possible? Maybe not. We still have Callum [Hudson-Odoi] who can play on the left side as a wing-back and we have some other ideas that we can maybe try. But first of all, Marcos is the one in charge – he’s the specialist, he will prove how much he can bring to the team.”

I've seen a video on Rangnicks potential tactics with Utd, where Bruno could even play a deep playmaker role in some games

        • 3 Years

Definitely keeping a close eye, although GW16 will be the earliest I'd go for one and even at that it might be best to give it an extra game or so to get a better idea of what setup Rangnick might prefer. But Sancho, Rashford and Bruno definitely on the watch list, wouldn't normally think of Sancho so soon after he's had a couple of returns with this really being the proper start of his time at MU, but his finish against Chelsea was a very confident one and he should suit whatever system Rangnick plays and his style. Keeps dropping in price too.

Early thoughts here? Antonio is going, and maybe along with Hwang to distribute more funds into midfield and defence. Raphinhas last week before Leeds horrid run however might hold if Bamford is back, they'll still create some chances v City and Arsenal anyway.

        Sanchez
        TAA Rudi James Livra
        Jota Salah Raphinha Gallagher
        Antonio Kane

        Foster Hwang Duffy Bissouma

        A) Antonio to King, Duffy to Cancelo, Hwang to Dennis (-4) annoyingly 0.1 short of the first two moves

yes as Christiansen also has a contract issue that hasnt been resolved yet. TAA is as close to essential as you can get

2FT, 0.3itb, WC still available and no idea what to do here:

        Sanchez Foster
        TAA Cancelo James Rüdiger Livramento
        Salah Jota Raph Gallagher Gilmour
        Vardy Antonio Toney

I think I will closely monitor MCI, MUN and TOT tonight, since I probably need some offense covering from at least one of the three for the upcoming GW?

If the insights will not yet be sufficient, I could do the most boring transfer of all time just in order to have a 2nd playing GK:
        Foster to Bachmann or Dubravka

You could try and get a city player for Raph, otherwise do the Foster move and do Raph to city the following week. Btw i was in a similar position yesterday. Was close to burning transfer but ended up upgrading Livramento

Did James pick up a knock or is he just at risk from rotation because of potential fatigue?

if talking about the flag its due to a knock, fpl wont flag a player due to rotation risk/fatigue,

thanks, however, when will it be ideal to switch from sanchez to a potentially rejuvenated united under rangnick? i feel like their defence will become solid in the next few games and sanchez is rotting up my team. i actually consider him as a 2 point keeper from gw 15-20

Sanchez is fine to keep. I think Shaw could be great under Rangnick. You never know, you might want 3 man utd defender/attackers and you'll be tied to DDG.

        Any preference between?

        A) Jesus
        B) Gundo/Bernardo

Can afford any striker up to 10.4 but dont really like the options, so its either Jesus vs someone like King, and upgrade mf to one of B options.

B also gives funds to upgrade def to Alonso, but not sure who i'd bench if I were to get him in!

Quite a stat, didn't know Arsenal's goals had been shared around so much but notlw that I think about it it makes sense.

Seen an article on The Athletic regarding Chelsea and integrating Lukaku. The system Tuchel plays clearly favours the wingbacks and it has worked for them for the most part, but I suppose you look at the 1-1 draws with Burnley and MU and think that they do need a clinical striker there to win those games where they keep wasting chances, but I wonder if they'll really have to adapt their style if they want to get Lukaku involved more like that. They have something that works and that most teams can't deal with right now, but you don't want to spend £100m on striker to score 10-15 goals all season do you? It's a hard mix. City have had that for a while now, I still think they'll get a striker next season but you can still still goals coming in from all over the pitch with one then with the fluidity of their play.

Ultimately, all chelsea will care about is winning the league rather than how many goals Lukaku scores but they definitely need to come up with an approach that suits Lukaku's style

I'm probably keeping Raph but I can see reasons for selling him. One being Leeds look toothless, Raphs ceiling being 8/9 pts and replacing with city players/Jota who have a higher ceiling.
