West Ham v Wolves team news: Scamacca starts, Coufal and Antonio benched

A good advert for John Wayne’s critically panned The Green Berets on Channel 5?

The two lowest-scoring sides in the Premier League meet in east London in the final Premier League match of the day, a fixture that doesn’t scream ‘entertaining Saturday evening fare’ on paper.

There is a bit of interest from a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) perspective, at least, with some of the Hammers’ assets targets of Gameweek 8/9 Wildcarders due to their upcoming fixture run.

As for the team news, West Ham boss David Moyes makes three changes to the side that started the 1-0 defeat at Everton in Gameweek 8.

Gianluca Scamacca, Maxwel Cornet and Craig Dawson all start as Michail Antonio, Vladimir Coufal and Pablo Fornals drop to the bench.

Bruno Lage’s only change from the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City is enforced, with Nelson Semedo replacing the suspended Nathan Collins.

That will presumably see Jonny move across to centre-half.

Diego Costa makes the Wolves squad for the first time but is only among the substitutes.

      He's been very good. He's off on 64 minutes. Excellent goal and went close another time as well. Seemed to link up with Bowen well today.

        Moyes basically said that they want to play Scamacca but his fitness is not quite there yet to cope with PL demands, hence they took him off early.

      I was looking at options for Gross and almost asked if Gross to Trossard was too sideways yesterday.

      ... because of the fixtures I knew the inevitable answer.

      But if he gets goals going forward then it's all good if you have him.

    Plan was to get rid of City/Arsenal up to GW12, and then bring the boys back in with my WC. Trouble is I'd lose 0.3 ditching Martinelli, and 0.2 ditching Saliba, only to most probably bring them back after GW12. Think it was a bad idea and should've wildcarded earlier...

      You can easily bench them gw12 if you dont want to get rid. Dont see the problem tbh.
      If you wildcarded earlier you probably had to remove them completely

      The reason we brought him in is because he plays a string of such bad teams in quick succession. I expected Wolves to be a tighter affair than the likes of Fulham & Bournemouth, so very pleasantly surprised today.

    Getting Fabianski to dovetail with Pope probably the one and only decision I've made that's any good this season.
