two huge chances missed by Colwill in that game, if he had scored either of those his wagon would well and truly be on 😆

no he needs to fight for his place according to Poch, but he just signed a new 6 year contract, so i assume he's gotten some assurances

        Pochs words on Colwill

"Well, we assume that he is going to play. I was clear with him when talking, we were talking about him having the possibility to compete with different team-mates.

"For sure, he is going to play. The possibility to play because Benoit [Badiashile] is injured and higher because he is left and will compete with Benoit. He needs to deserve, it's not because of one player's injury, different types of combinations can happen."

"He needs to show that he is ready to play."

No. He'll definitely play, and is looking like he will start GW1 however...

It has been reported that Badiashile is ahead on his recovery, with the 3rd GW his target.

We also just bought Axel Disasi (for RCB), who was Badiashile's partner CB at Monaco. Whilst I'm sure both need a bit of catching up, they obviously know how to play together. If Badiashile starts, Colwill may be unlikely to.

I'd say Colwill is good for the first 2-3 GWs but beyond that (out good stretch) it gets harder to call. If we start well though, they'll be more hesitancy on switching it up.

Thoughts on this current chucked together draft? 1.5m ITB

    Onana Flekken
    TAA Stones Estupiñán Bell Beyer
    Rashford Saka Diaz Mbuemo Enciso

Thinking 352 most weeks from the jump, and the 1.5 ITB gives some flexibility to upgrade Enciso, a defender or Woodrow

he just got a whack, then kinda twisted as he fell, the commentator said it looks like he might have jarred his knee, i thought it was more of an impact injury where he's just a bit sore so went off as a precaution since he played on for a few minutes afterwards

We were going off template. Now we are just gonna have new templates. 2nd forward was divided into Jesus, Nkuku, Watkings and a few others. Now less options.

How so? There is a wide variety of replacements for Jesus - forwards such as Watkins, Nkunku and Jackson to rejigging formations and getting Martinelli, Trossard or even Foden.

The pot of players get smaller, the reworked RMTs go out, the group think continues and the variants reduce

Players like Watkins and foden you were differentials for some players now become more widely owned

                  • 12 Years
                  10 months, 9 hours ago

Got it. But at the same time providing those %s stay below where Jesus was at it's more a case of a reduced differential.

              Don't fully understand here.

Wasn't Jesus pretty much the 2nd forward template already? %s seemed to indicate. Having to move off him to others or pivot on formation means that's more variety... ?

Maybe I just don't get it.

In the short term until everyone is driven to the new best combo - less options more similarity

basically if Jesus had an ownership of 40%, Nkunku had 15% and Watkins had 10%, now Nkunku could reach 30%, Watkins hit 20% or so making Nkunku/Watkins templatish.

Its not really a big deal, just that those who were going against Jesus till now will feel hard done by.

                    I have. Meh.

I agree with Polis. It's a simplistic equation to say if one popular player is removed, the pool is lower therefore more templatey. There is no obvious like-for-like replacement for Jesus; in contrast his absence brings into play a multiple number of less popular assets.

When the most picked player in a position gets injured, it'll cause more not less variations.

When one of two common picks gets injured it'll cause a consolidation where most people then move to the other choice.

                I noticed that.
I’m taking a gamble on Chelsea which could backfire.
I’ve got a couple in early doors to save me having to try and bring them in later.
Worse comes to the worse, I’ll just transfer them out.

          How’s it shaping up…

          Flekken
          Chilwell / Gabriel / Estu
          Salah / Saka / BrunoF / Mbuemo / Eze
          Haaland / Jackson

          Areola / Baldock / Kabore / Mubama

Likely 6 penalty takers in this draft too…

There is no other nailed attacker that’s emerged. Obviously it was a long shot but I’d hoped for it.

Also, they’re looking just as shaky as ever at the back and Trent looks like his creativity may be a bit stifled this season by the new signings.

Ah fair enough. Yeah I was pretty sure they were going to bang in goals this season, l think defensively they'd be troubled with the transition to playing with Mac and Szoboszlai even if Fabinho or Henderson stayed but it seems like it'll be even more difficult now. I know Salah has mostly assisted in preseason so far but he'll have some proper support now behind him so I couldn't consider going without

Best just to wait and see if u don't think anyones nailed. Im thinking of starting with Diaz at least he's shooting in preseason and should have the LW nailed. Then bring Gakpo or Nunez for Bou(h)

You could wait and see whilst sitting on Salah and move to any other option from there though no? What makes you think Diaz has nailed the LW when Jota and Darwin exist?

Well Darwin hasn't played in the LW in any preseason game that's been between Diaz and Jota, with Gakpo or Nunez as the no.9

I think everyone not owning Trent wants to support their decision making by reiterating that he is now sitting at CDM and will no longer be the sole set piece taker. Klopp will always find solutions in a match to enable him to get into the best positions to affect the teams attacking potential. He stays in my team.

Interesting. I’ve been sat on Trent since the game opened but less sure now. Salah is just such a consistent goalscorer even when they had a comparably bad season he was still close to his usual output.

I won't be owning Trent for a number of reasons
                  1. Szoboszlai will be taking some of his set pieces off him
                  2. 2nd half of last season he had the freedom of the park with 2 no.6s behind him, now he has 2 no.8s in front of him.
                  3. For now Curtis Jones has to play as a no.6 along with Trent which screams no cleansheets until they sign one

Depends on what you can do with 2.5m elsewhere. If price is not a problem TAA by a long way.

              Dias 22 Starts

              Walker 21 Starts

Gvardiol is joining and Walker still may go, and who knows, Cancelo may end up staying. Also Rico Lewis there who you'd imagine will definitely get more time if Walker leaves

Just read in the BBC that Mbappe would be up for one year at Chelsea if he can leave on a free next summer. If he comes to the PL then this will really rip up the template. If Haaland is 14m, he will be approximately priced around that too right?

Sterling at right, jackson striker but drop downs a lot, like Toney. Nkunku at left. Jackson with nice linkup play. Gallagher stays front, leaving space at mid. Making Chelsea vulnerable at counter. Chilwell is more like a left winger.

Watched the match, Sterling looked terrible again and has been all preseason, just has no ideas on how to beat a man, surprised they aren't looking for another RW this could also hinder Reece James output.
Mudryk looked a threat again and is linking up well with Chilwell and Nkunku, everything good Chelsea do is down that left side which is worrying as a Liverpool fan
