Obviously going to wait until GW2 is completed, but any suggestion if and what changes are needed to my current team please: -

    Turner (Areola)
    Gusto Saliba Chilwell (Kabore Baldock)
    Saka Fernandes Jota Rashford Odegaard
    Jackson Haaland (Mubama)

    1.5m ITB, 1 FT

Thinking Turner >> Ederson for free?

    Thank you for your time….

Don't see the point in spending that much on a keeper which is not going to be involved in much bonus or save points.

Besides that Ortega has become a threat to him. It's his place to lose, but he is very capable to make enough mistakes.

City could be back up to 20 clean sheets this season ... add a penalty save or assist etc and that is a160 point season.

      A good move imho

An unpopular suggestion no doubt but I would sort out your bench, you don't have much a of a N+1 redundancy in your squad

I feel like taking out Pedro during this specific gameweek might come back to bite us. He surely won’t be dropped for two games in a row after having a stellar preseason and GW1.

I suspect De Zerbi’s comments about Pedro are simply a way to get him to step up his performances in training so that he doesn’t think he’s nailed in the Brighton attack. I’m holding for the next match and will probably ditch him after.

      Think that’s my identical 15.

As it stands (assuming Gabriel plays):

      A) Pickford -> Sanchez (or other 4.5 GK) and roll

      B) Pedro -> Jackson / Wissa and Rashford/ Salah -> cheaper mid to fund it (eg Maddison if playing the fixtures).

I will probably reluctantly sell Salah as won’t be captaining him and it creates total flexibility

Agree. I have Watkins in my team and was disappointed after GW1, but Newcastle bossed that game. Hopefully at home tonight his return will be better and then what should be an easy GW3.
If he doesn't get a decent return out of those two fixtures then he'll be gone for Villas week 4 trip to Anfield.

I’m planning this move (to fund Jackson/Alvarez/Wissa). Don’t think Rashford is a bad pick but he seems to be playing in his less preferred position and not getting the chances, particularly in relation to his price.

I’m waiting on the final matches and progress during the week but this is currently lined up (and fwiw, it gains 9-10 pts on RMT)

        I don’t think so

        Chelsea V Luton
        Arsenal v Fulham
        City at Sheff United
        Brentford v Palace
        Brighton V West Ham

Think most key teams have good fixs this week, even debatable if United’s is that easy given the state of both teams.

Some early takes after two weeks.

Brighton will score a lot of goals but Ze Zerbi will not be fantasy friendly, Perdro’s versitility or record transfer fee didn’t find him a start somewhere or making him immune from not starting, not good, in reality, you probably only own him because of Salah.

Onana will be a great pick because he’ll get to make a lot of saves, the attack looks woeful, Rashford is no longer 6.5 so can’t play like it, never went for Bruno & don’t think that was a mistake, Forest is not as easy as it looks & everyone has nice fixs next week, a call can be made on them.

Foden looked like he’s going to step up along with Alvarez in KDB’s absence, want them for this run, defence feels unsexy but necessary.

Haaland’s EO even with a hard fixture was scary, got away with one yesterday but almost makes it impossible to go against him now, it’s a 10 man game with no C, accept it.

Liverpool are no longer all about Salah in attack, can’t see the game ever mass captaining him again so his fear factor has gone, he’s more of an opportunity now but probably not one worth taking, Diaz, Jota & Szboz all looked decent.

        Generally agree.

I don't have Salah but had Pedro for GW1 and 3. I benched him yesterday. I don't think Salah is worth the investment if he's not going to be considered for captaincy.

Foden looked stunning yesterday. I'll WC after GW4 and bring him in.

I'm currently sitting pretty on 27k OR, and BBing next week. Hoping to hit the dizzy heights of top 10k for the first time in over a decade!

Wilson is a gamble with minutes of course but flaky Pool defence.

Yeah mate I have gone for a new strategy this season and rotating a full 15 man squad, I was having doubts already in GW1 but starting to enjoy it now and accepting that I will get the bench right and wrong week to week. I like having lots of alternatives and I can deal with injuries or players being dropped and only using FT’s when I need them. Not aiming b for the top, just aiming to enjoy the game my way.

Right, interesting. I started with a strong 15 man squad with the view of BBing in GW3, then WCing after GW4. But I'm actually starting to think about having a decent squad all round. I think the range of cheap options and dearth of strong expensive players allows for it.

        I'd start Jota here

I think Forest will treat Man U like Wolves did, but the difference is that Forest have a few finishers (like Spurs but unlike Wolves)

Wilson would have been my preference if there was any indication of starts, but there isn't atm

Leaving Jota with the very few chances he'll get... So, yeah, him

Eze owner who was contemplating the same. See how he looks against Arsenal today. They play against beach other next week and I have a feeling Palace defence at home might cope with Brentford better than what they have faced so far. Eze needs to do well next week or he is in the firing line.

I did Darwin > Wissa last night so I guess i’m not desperate to get Mbuemo and leaning towards March/Mitoma there.

Definitely don’t chuck it after 2 weeks, such a long season and we all have players who are missing while others are hitting right now. Just be patient and use your FT’s wisely and hope you make the right changes. From one week to the next everything can change. Bruno + Rashford is looking unnecessary the way they are playing so I would see how they go against Forest and maybe move one on if they struggle again.

Depending on what Trossard does today, I was probably going to transfer him out for Mbeumo.

Now I’m wondering if Trossard and Salah to Diaz and Jota might be better?

I know i’ll probably get some flack for telling people that Salah won’t be on pens this season before GW1 but it was evident from the miss (due to a pretty dreadful penalty once again) that there’ll be even more question marks over whether he should still be on them.

Salah has always delivered a lot of FPL points from taking pens and if Szoboslai or Mac Allister (once back from suspension), takes over them then this massively devalues Salah’s value as an FPL asset considering his humungous price.

Full disclosure: I was at the game yesterday and captained Diaz. I do not own Salah and was not impressed by his performance. Not many around me were. Diaz was electric and our best attacker but he came off very fatigued. Hopefully he recovers!

Yea for as bad as United were, Bruno was involved in everything on set pieces and penalties.

If keeping a United he seems the one to have.

I’ve got Steele and Pedro - is the priority to get in Estu or Mitoma/March?

      I’d either do:

      Gabriel to Estu

      Eze to Mitoma/March

Ideally looking to offload Pedro but likely not for another week to build back 2 Frees

I'm in the same boat and my main take so far is Steele's probably not a great option amongst the 4.5m ones they've had two very favourable fixtures from a defensive point of view and conceded in both and should have conceded more yesterday. Not a priority area for me but if I was on a wild card I'd be getting shot of him.

Estupinan just looks essential doesn't he.

Pedro I'm going to give another week I can see a lot knee jerking him out but even though March and Mitoma look more assured of minutes and starts I can De Zerbi going full Pep on us soon and benching one or the other. He still got 30 minutes yesterday which isn't terrible, game was done and dusted by then so hard to judge him too much not like they needed to attack much, on another day that 30 minutes might be them needing goals.

to be honest I don't blame people for doing it he's the most expensive asset in the game for the best team in the league and he's the only guaranteed starter at City bar Ederson. Blanked in about 6 or 7 I think last season I could be wrong that was a quick look at transfrmarket which might not credit all the assists as FPL would, missed another 3 entirely so he's not scoring great in about 25% of the season it's just the other 75% he's essential.

This is how i predict Liverpool will set up in the next GW or 2 (take it with a pinch of salt though!):

      ——--——Alisson—————-
      TAA - Konate - VVD - Robbo
      —-Jota —- Endo —-- Szob —
      — Salah — Gakpo — Diaz —

Gakpo false 9. If Diaz is unfit then Nunez left wing. If Klopp
thinks he needs more bodies in midfield to contain Newcastle then probably Bijetic over Jota.

It’s a possibility but Liverpool are playing interchanging positions in attack this season so it isn’t as cut and dry as him being the CF. Gakpo has the physicality and composure to hold up the ball in the false 9 role.

Jota can give the ball away carelessly which we simply cannot let happen vs Newcastle. The same goes for Nunez.

Just to add, i stuck Jota in that area of the formation due to the interchangeable positions. I was at the game and aside from the lucky goal he didn’t offer what’s required for a game against Newcastle.

For what it’s worth i don’t think Darwin leads the line. He stormed straight down the tunnel after the game (frustrated that he only got 10 minutes against 10 men) rather than congratulating his players and the Bournemouth players.

He clearly still has an attitude problem that he needs to work on and i’m sure Klopp will not be impressed by his behaviour.

Just seen this, Maddison leaving stadium on crutches…

Guess my transfer curse has started early. Did KDB > Maddison, Now Maddison > ???

Apologies in advance to whoever I pick.

Could you transfer in the big guy up front for Man City?

Just a precaution apparently. I've just bought him in too!

I was all set on WC GW3 to accommodate Chelsea assets that I didn't want 1-2, but Chilwell now up +0.2 is a pain, especially since other gains in my squad are all players I'm keeping.
      Fun times ahead this week.

Think I'm gonna wildcard. I brought Maddison in for Foden on Friday night to avoid being priced out, which has spectacularly backfired (as I should have known it would). Plus, Foden looked too good last night! Also, I think it may be time to ditch Salah and spread the funds elsewhere, and not convinced about Rashford.

If you want to take a risk in your midfield then go for Mitoma or March. But be prepared for the benchings!

I think if you started with Salah then GW3 was always going to be the first window to WC, it was always going to hinge on if you persisted with him after that fix or wanted to bail and spread the funds.

Teams without Salah can afford to wait until 4/8, had he banged yesterday & looked must have, those teams would have probably been the ones to WC him in.
