(Yes I know Trippier is on bench but he’s coming on and scoring a free kick just like in my premonition! Blank second game however)

Really hasn't been a season to go against the template eh. Been a few bright weeks or spots within weeks but overall it's been brutal trying to do anything different

Yup. Being different will be identified by fpl towers and the content creators.

Correct. Not to mention this seasons horrible pricing making every single team affording the exact same players.

Lots of issues with the pricing but ironically the biggest gamebreaker, Palmer, was priced correctly. Maybe would've been 5.5m if he'd moved to Chelsea before FPL was open.

I disagree. City sold both Gundo and Mahrez and there was always a chance he could get solid minutes there. Him being sold was a big suprise though.

I've gone with Romero over Porro this week, punting on his greater goalscoring threat!

Maybe, I generally try to at the very least blend some choices from the template with some outside picks but the last two seasons went well for me with doing that as well as having weeks where I'd be fully against the template. This season though it's been so difficult, I ignored the likes of Palmer for so long before I had to cave, I sold Watkins around GW20 which was disastrous, haven't had Haaland since GW29 until this week which was fine for a period but destroyed me last week, etc.

When the template is injured, their price freezes.

When a differential emerges, their price rises 0.4 in one GW.

Every season/gw has its own truth I think. One season/gw full backs run the show, next they re on one pointers. Haaland scores a quadruple when he's back from injury and poorish and blanks again. Spurs disintegrate. Managers suddenly own Jackson cos of dgws and he scores goals and gets assists. Just like football itself FPL is totally unpredictable, just there for the ride and enjoy highs and (many) lows.

There's no alternative. Might as well go along for the ride. I agree.

Doesn't stop me needling the controlling elite though.

These DGWs, along with the fairly recent addition of a second wildcard, have made the template absolute this last quarter of the season.

Hopefully the DGWs going next season, due to no longer having FA Cup replays, will break things up a little.

    9. Eightball

Blame FPL for their rubbish prices. They need to make the game harder so their are genuine decisions. This second half of the season particularly has been pretty boring in all honesty.

Gordon almost doesn't matter. It's crazy how little impact any of those core 6 players - Haaland, Isak, Son, Gordon, Palmer, Foden make. Everyone who's serious about the game has them.

Gordon is the least owned of the 6 so I guess it's reasonable to not own him. I didn't have him until this week. But the template is super strong and the vast majority of players have them.

the swing on KDB vs Gvardiol at 0-2 was brutal. kdb shot great save, kdb to haaland big chance missed (wouldve been at least 2 bonus) and then gvardiol scores from poor keeping by Leno. arghh

Perfect example as you said earlier about going against the template. KDB could have scored more than Foden today. Like you, I tend to play my own game - Romero instead of Porro, KDB instead of Foden etc. etc.but they always seem to backfire!!

To be honest, KDB gets attacking returns in away games. Still think he’ll outscore Foden this GW. Gvardiols form is ridiculous. Though unheralded, I think a Haaland, KDB, Gvardiol triple up would be my preferred three
