A total of 18 Champions League matches are taking place over two nights, some of which seem straightforward. We’re backing comfortable wins for Barcelona, Dortmund and Aston Villa over Crvena Zvezda, Sturm Graz and Club Brugge respectively.

Meanwhile, there are a couple of interesting English-based narratives taking place on Tuesday. Former Liverpool hero Xabi Alonso takes last season’s unbeaten Bundesliga champions Leverkusen to Anfield, a side that has won all three outings so far.

We think that’ll be a competitive draw, just like injury-hit Manchester City travelling to Sporting CP and coming up against the manager who is seemingly set to take over their closest rivals: Ruben Amorim.

The headline matches see Inter host Arsenal and the two most successful Champions League teams of all time – Real Madrid and AC Milan – clash at the Bernabeu.

Of the rest, we see Atalanta beating Stuttgart, Paris Saint-Germain overcoming Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich getting past Benfica. Plus, first wins for Bologna, Leipzig and Shakhtar.

When using the Sleeper app, another thing you can do is follow the live UCL scores, keeping track of the events and stats of every game in real-time.

Hmm don't think I'd want to take on Haaland with a -8. Can't you just start Gab and Rogers and reassess next week?

If the guys who told you Sean Dyche attackers(under any circumstances) were a good idea, are telling you to load up on mid and bottom table attackers, treat with caution.

Brentford are a curious case in statistics. We know Matthew Benham who owns them is in the statistical area in gambling for his other business interests so it makes sense that they will be one of those who lean heavily on stats. I know from listening to a podcast before with Ben Mee (Ben Foster) that they do focus on all of that and they are quite heavily incentivised financially around set piece goals.

Stripping out penalties this season they've scored a remarkable amount of goals considering they sit 15th in the number of shots taken excluding pens. From that same measure they've got the highest non-pen xg per shot and they've also got the highest (by some margin) % of shots on target. I don't think that's a coincidence I think they are deliberately choosing when to take shots or headers or whatever method is taking the chance.

But given we know how good the attack is, on the same metrics they've got the 2nd worst number of shots conceded in the league, the worst number on target and the 4th worst non-pen xg per shot. It looks on paper like either they can't sort out the defence or they actually don't care and are just trusting their attack to outdo the defence. I think if its the latter, its an attitude we're probably seeing pan out across the league bar Forest and Arsenal and maybe Liverpool under Slot.
