So if I play TC this week I miss out on 5 games Slot etc but I can use next week and get Slot for 4 games or even Emery or Ange if Liverpool don't knock out Spurs. That doesn't sound terrible

I’m on the same strategy. Too messy to use AM this week. Also considering no chip and rolling…

Yeah. I think the temptation to play AM is mostly from folks who spunked their TC already.

If you have the chip, it’s the right play.

I think they’ll give Liverpool a game but not sure it’ll be reflected in the scoreboard.

Could see it being 3-1 or something like that

Can someone cleverer than I tell me the best course of action here:

I have TAA and Salah and was going to to Amad > Szobozlai or Watkins > Gakpo and TC Salah.

Should I instead do Wood > Ndiaye and play the AM on Slot?

I would say yes to playing AM on Slot.

Personally I'm not that convinced by selling Wood for Ndiaye (Ndiaye's chances of scoring against Liverpool pretty low, so really it's like a single gameweek for Everton).

Not sure I see the argument for David Moyes as AM - the most likely score in the game against Liverpool is probably zero points (predicted result: Everton 0-2 Liverpool). I guess it is slightly better than a single gameweek, but only slightly in my opinion.

I have three Liverpool (TAA, Salah, Gakpo), and so I think I will use TC on Salah, and then think about using the AM chip in GWs 25 to 27.

Do you think the TSB % for managers on FPL page is accurate? It shows me 47.5% for Slot but I think this number didn’t change at all for like two days which is unlikely

47.5 who’ve activated the chip, as opposed to the whole game?

I’d believe so, there’s no way half the game activated AM and all went with Slot haha

But I also think this number is nonsense even for activated chips because I’m pretty sure I saw the same 47.5 two days back.

This is entirely not in my best interest, but I was helping a friend this morning and here's what I would do if I had TAA, Gakpo, Salah and TC left. I am not in that position so I will very likely do something else. But this is what I would do:

I would TC in 24 and plan to AM in 25 either on Emery or Silva (preferably Silva).

    Here is why:
    - There is no longer a guarantee that there will be two more DGWs after this AM window. GW36 might well be a SGW. This means that if you have a TC, you are risking not having any more TC opportunities in a DGW and are then forced to TC Salah in 28 vs SOU or hope that there will be another chance later and likely it won't be on Salah.
    - If you TC Salah in 24, you know what you're getting. A TC from the best player in the ggame for a DGW. It was the plan all along until the chip came along.
    - AM in 25 would mean you lose 1 fixture. Either Moyes vs Liverpool or Slot vs Everton. But you'd potentially gain that game back from Salah TC if there are no more DGWs beyond GW33.
    - Waiting one week to AM 25 is preferable so that you can plan the AM chip with full fixture clarity. We don't know for sure yet if Pool/Villa will double in 25 or Spurs/Ful. That's a big variable. If Spurs go through, Silva as AM in 25 is really clear and in not activating AM this week, you'd gain Salah TC and not have to roll the dice on Moyes + spend the transfer to Silva.

Newcastle could get 2 doubles beyond GW30 if the 2 scenarios happen:

EFL Cup final and BGW29 Newcastle v Palace

FAC SF and BGW34 Newcastle v Ipswich

Could is the operative word. It is not guaranteed. Hence why I would TC now and plan to AM in 25 with full knowledge of the options available. Worst case you lose one GW out of your AM.

Yeah maybe. I haven't looked in depth but Silva looks really good to me on paper with table bonus vs Forest at home being the plummest fixture you can get for table bonus (if Forest don't lose this weekend and Fulham get a result).

If you can get Gakpo for free, then yes.

If not, and it doesn't cost a hit to raise money for Slot then I'd just use it on Slot.

The only way I could get to Gakpo is to remove Watkins and that seems sub optimal with Villa likely to double.

That’s a good argument. I considered it that way but decided to AM this week as I like the potential upside of successive doubles, which we are highly unlikely to get later in the season.

I understand your reservations about future doubles but I’m fairly confident there will be at least two opportunities (one for bench boost, one for triple captain). And worst case scenario, you can pick a plum single fixture.

And of course underpinning all this is the classic cliche that it’s team dependent. All good options, variance makes for an interesting game… and I will undoubtedly pick the wrong option.

I understood that. I was just offering a different view (as someone with triple Liverpool) and that, even with triple Liverpool, each of us will have differences that make chip strategies team dependent

Cheers for this, i have no FTs, have 3 pool and have 0.4m in the bank so AM not really an option. I'm on TC Salah (although i dont love the fixtures) and will likely AM next week with more info. If i had the money and didnt have 3 pool or no TC left i'd be on AM Slot though.

Am I bonkers and a stupid optimist to think Ange could be a great AM choice in a few weeks once he has 7 or 8 players back?

A - 7 or 8 players back should pick up from
B - potentially beatable teams will be 5 places above spurs for bonus
C - points for goals scored but don't have to pick the right player (goals are always spread around)
D - wouldn't need to disrupt team to benefit

    Timing would be crucial, obviously

The problem is, that even if the circumstances all align perfectly, it's still only 3 games vs 5.

It's so unlikely that you are able to confidently back the AM chipn in 3 games to outscore one over 5.

I'm looking at runs like United in GW30 nfo, MCY, new. 3 big table bonus opportunities. But the problem is it's still 3 games vs 5. Even if United get positive results in 2/3 of those games it will not offset 2 extra games worth of potential now.

It's hard to know what a good score looks like first time out.

Spurs are in a lower position in the league tahn you would have expected at this point. Theys till have decent players although as you say they are injured quite a bit

I am certainly looking if Spurs get a 3 week run that has an dgw. (Should happen either 25, 33, 36)
It most like, given their table position, has 2 possible tablefixture-games.
If they go on a tear it could be the highest AM-chip gain available.

All this chat of selling Gakpo is odd

Even if he hasn't scored many of his goals away from Anfield so far

Its only this site causing it. Rest of the world are bringing him in. He is 600% to rise in livefpl.

I'd always lean to Gabriel for set piece threat alone
