Tottenham hit by Covid-19 outbreak ahead of Gameweek 16

Tottenham Hotspur’s preparations for the festive period have been hit by a Covid-19 outbreak at the club.

It is understood a number of first-team players and club staff have returned positive tests, with more PCR testing due to take place over the next 24 hours, though it has not been revealed which individuals have contracted the disease.

The 10-day period of self-isolation for anyone who tests positive means that the Spurs players affected could miss their next three games.

Spurs are due to face Rennes in the UEFA Europa Conference League in London on Thursday, followed by Premier League encounters against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday and Leicester City next Thursday.

It is yet to be established whether the club will contact the Premier League about Sunday’s game at the Amex Stadium, but a decision to postpone league matches can only be made by the competition board.

At this stage, it goes without saying that Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers should hold onto their transfers, at least until the situation becomes clearer in the coming days, with Antonio Conte due to face the media ahead of Thursday’s European tie.

I wouldn't be looking to buy Dias. I've had him since my GW8 WC and have been tempted to ditch every week since, just never been a priority. Holding him now, as I have him, but he wouldn't be on my wish list if I didn't

When is McArthur expected to be back?

On this FPL site it shows 12th December but I read somewhere he's out for 8 weeks.

Drawn a nice dead team in the cup, albeit with Bruno captain! Still like to think I have a decent chance of getting through!

I am in a similiar boat. If you can stretch to 5.6m you can get Gray, but for 5.2 or less you might as well as go 4.5 and look to upgrade a defender to a reguilon or dalot

I'd say so also. Means "strange" formation, but there is simply no-one at that price who is worth starting. Even cheap defenders are better options.

It's the 'IF' playing striker that bothers me. I had Foden for a few weeks and when he played striker he was great, but unfortunately played a lot of games really wide on the left and it was frustrating to watch. I know this is very simplistic but the fact that he is left footed playing on the left means he doesn't cut inside and shoot which Silva can (and does) do a lot. I always felt like with Foden I was hoping for an assist from a cross. So I'm give Silva a try this time, I'm sure he will frustrate me too!

            • 8 Years

Yes I agree sometimes Foden ends up playing too wide. He has better assist potential in the games he's playing on the wing. Im leaning towards Bilva myself but it's because it allows me to do Sanchez to DDG which I feel is enough of a reason to save that 0.6m.

If he travelled to Milano most of the fatigue comes from that, not the minutes. If Liverpool have sent him to Milano then the rest is not a rest. I dont understand if he travelled in the first place.

0.1 off from this WC team. Where to shave?

        De Gea (Gunnarsson)
        TAA, James, Cancelo (Dalot, Amartey)
Salah, Bowen, Bernardo, Jota (Douglas Luiz)
        Ronaldo, Dennis, Watkins

        A. James > Rudiger, upgrade Amartey to Johnson
        B. Douglas Luiz > Gilmour (leaving a very thin bench)
        C. De Gea > Ramsdale
        D. Somewhere else?

        This is my team, thoughts?

        Sanchez
        TAA - Reguilon - James - Cancelo
        Salah (C) - Son* - Foden - Bernardo - ESR
        King

Bench: Steele - Wilson - Toney - Duffy

If i do the moves i’ve shown further down in this text, i will bench probably bench ESR and start Antonio instead

Thinking of a -4 that is Son and Toney ———> Sancho and Antonio
That will leave me with 0.1 itb so i can do Wilson to Watkins next week

        GW15 Mini-League Leaders:

This is a report on the leaders of various Fantasy Football Scout FPL mini-leagues and community competitions after Gameweek 15.

        ** FFS OPEN MINI-LEAGUE

Srecko Kurtovic leads for a seventh week in the Fantasy Football Scout mini-league (https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/68048/standings/c, league code gsnskx) and is now fourth overall, only six points behind Oscar and Daniel.

        ** FFS COMMUNITY MEMBERS MINI-LEAGUE

Daniel Masson-Abraham leads for a ninth week in the Fantasy Football Scout Members mini-league (https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/361/standings/c), but after six weeks as world number one he has now dropped to second overall, having made more transfers than new leader Oscar (FPL FOCAL) with whom he is level on points.
This league is also open to all and the league code is visible in the widget on the FFS Home Page when signed in, but only those with a registered FFS account (paid or free) will be eligible for prizes.

        ** FFS HEAD-TO-HEAD LEAGUES

Martin Stubbs still leads League 1 of MIR’s FFS Head-to-Head Leagues (https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/head-to-head-leagues/) and has increased his lead over Cak Juris to eight points following the latter’s loss to Craig Johnson (Bouncebackability).

Rohan Chatarjee in League 8 Division 114 and Ryan Rojo in League 9 Division 149 are the only managers to have won all 15 of their matches so far.

        **FFS CUPS

Gameweek 15 was the first round of the FFS Members Cup and the second round of the FFS Open Cup. Links to the full lists of fixtures in these rounds can be found in https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2021/12/01/the-latest-ffs-cup-fixtures-and-results-39/.
These FFS Cups are organised by Fantasy Football Scout and should not be confused with any similarly named League Cups listed on FPL’s Leagues & Cups page.

In the FFS Members Cup, one previous winner (rrcmc) is through to round 2 but the other (Mohd Rodzi) tied 40-40 with HUGO1995 and lost on overall rank. The highest ranked player in round 1 (Mattblack) was defeated 48-55 by Zarch, so the highest ranked player still in is now Minostat (158th).

In the FFS Open Cup, three previous winners (donnellyc, TH14 and 2EyedTurk) are through to round 3 but the other two (Wild Rover and Gribude) were defeated by npch and Fantasy Pig respectively. The highest ranked player in round 2 (Lincolnite_Imp) lost 40-58 to Sarnab, so the highest ranked player still in is now DonieFPL (183rd).

        2FT.

        Sanchez (Steel)
        Cancelo, James, TAA, Livramento, White
        Salah, Foden, Jota, Gallagher, Brownhill
        Kane, Antonio, King

        Should I do:

A: Kane -> Ronaldo (world class, great fixtures, new manager, but high rotation risk over Xmas), rolling 1Ft.

        Or.

B: Kane for Watkins and upgrade the midfield, possibly upgrading both Brownhill and Gallagher to Bernardo, Bowen for a -4.

B means I have 8 playable attackers, but with high rotation over Xmas I think that’s ok.

Love to get some thoughts on these moves ?

I am very indecisive on this too, but I might go without cr7. If you're prem captaining Salah, its not worth ripping your team apart for one player. I might try to get dalot/telles and add rashford/sancho to cover when we know more about the team though

Considering one of two replacement options for a -4 this GW with Son/Spurs potentially blanking.
        Out: Son / Raphina / A.Armstrong
        Replace with:
        A: Foden / Gray / Ronaldo
        B: Bilva / Bowen / Ronaldo

        Ramsdale (Foster)
TAA - James - Rudiger - Cancelo (Livra)
        Salah - Son* - Raphina* - Jota (D,Luiz)
        Dennis - Antonio - A.Armstrong*

Any views on the two options? Liking A with Foden, but Bowen > Gray should be better although I’m not super keen on doubling WH

        Thoughts on below ?

        1. Toney and Son to CR7 and 4.5mid (benched)

        2. Toney and Son to King/Dennis and Sterling/Foden/Sancho/Bowen/Bsilva

        3. Toney and Son to Antonio and Foden/Sancho/Bowen/Bsilva

1 has higher ceiling. 3 is the safest. 2 is also good.
I'll go for 3, have a belief that Antonio can haul in the coming GWs

James is in great form but Chelsea are faltering a little. James can get all the assists he wants but if he isn't getting the clean sheets that Walker will get then you will get away with it
