FFS – League & Cups Round-up

Sunday’s goalfest brought the curtain down on the 2016/17 season, giving us time to assess the main performers in our Fantasy Football Scout leagues and cups over the last 10 months of domestic action.

The Fantasy Football Scout League

Jon Pears claimed top spot in the Fantasy Football Scout league in Fantasy Premier League after serving up 94 points in Gameweek 38.

Captain Harry Kane contributed 34 points and was joined by Manchester City trio Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne, who delivered a combined 26 points in the 5-0 rout over Watford.

In his eleventh season as an FPL manager, John also has Philippe Coutinho, Gary Cahill and Petr Cech to thank for a further 20 points as he climbed into fifth spot in the overall standings. That’s a career-high rank, with his previous best placing 1,029 back in 2012/13.

David Brundish grabbed the runners-up spot after returning an outrageous 304 points in the final two Gameweeks of the season.

After picking up 186 points in Double Gameweek 37, David unleashed his Triple Captain chip on Harry Kane for Spurs’ 7-1 hammering of Hull Cuty and was rewarded with 51 points from the Golden Boot winner.

De Bruyne, Jesus and Coutinho were joined by Alexis Sanchez, Dele Alli, Ben Davies and Willy Caballero as David delivered 118 points to end the campaign as Australia’s number one FPL manager.

In his eighth year playing the game, David’s late rise in the rankings earned him eighth spot overall – bettering a previous high of around the 51,000-mark in 2014/15.

Jatin Arutla was the only other member of our top five to end the campaign with a three-figure tally.

India’s number one ranked manager called upon captain Kane along with Sanchez, Jesus, Alli and Davies, and also had Junior Stanislas, Pedro and Romelu Lukaku to thank as he picked up 105 points in Gameweek 38.

Josh King’s social media post, alerting us of his injury prior to yesterday’s teamsheets, clearly helped Jatin – he swapped out the Norwegian for his Cherries team-mate Stanislas with just one minute remaining before the Gameweek 38 deadline.

A ninth-place position betters Jatin’s top rank of around 69,000 (achieved in 2014/15) in his previous four seasons of playing.

In fourth place, Ogie Nolan had a number of the usual suspects on board.

The likes of captain Kane, Jesus, Sanchez, Alli, Coutinho and Caballero were joined by Christian Eriksen’s pair of assists away to Hull to help Ogie earn 97 points in the final round of fixtures.

He ended as the second-placed manager in Ireland on his way to 12th overall – this is the second successive season he’s finished inside the top 1,000 in a 10-year FPL career.

Mervyn Glasgow’s decision to opt for Diego Costa over Kane as his captain proved decisive as he dropped to fifth in the FFS league.

The Spurs fan also overlooked Kane with the armband for Double Gameweek 37, opting instead for Sanchez. He headed into Sunday’s finale in sixth place overall but dropped back to 14th after returning 78 points.

Mervyn also had Jesus, Alli, Sanchez, Caballero and Eden Hazard in his XI and opted to make no transfers for the final round of fixtures.

This was, nonetheless, his most impressive finish to date in 11 seasons of playing FPL – Mervyn’s previous high was 1,246 in 2011/12. He also claimed first place as Northern Ireland’s best performing FPL manager.

The Fantasy Football Scout Members League

World number six Ben Pearson rose to the top of our members’ league in the final day thanks to a score of 99 points.

Ben opted to captain Coutinho at home to Middlesbrough and was rewarded with a total of 20 points from the Liverpool playmaker, while the likes of Kane, Jesus, Sanchez, Eriksen and Caballero were also among his starting line-up.

City skipper Vincent Kompany and Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin proved the differential picks, combining for a further 21 points after both were in the goals yesterday afternoon.

Ben finished the season as Switzerland’s number one ranked manager to chalk up a career-high rank, having ended a very respectable 1,251 in the previous campaign.

The aforementioned David Brundish and Ogie Nolan took second and third respectively and were joined in the top five by Billy Ketsu and Kristian Rudd.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football

Congratulations go to Matthew Jones, aka Numb, who finished top of our Sky Sports league with a total of 2,971 points – sitting just 28 points off the summit, he ended second in the overall rankings.

Niall Murphy grabbed the Scout league runners-up spot with 2,958 points, which was enough to claim third overall.

Nigel Dodds’ total of 2,936 points was third in the Scout league and joint-sixth in the world, while Ian Cox – aka Cheesoid – (2,929 points, eighth overall) and Oliver Brown (2,917 points, tenth overall) complete our top five performers.

Sky Sports have pledged to pay out £1,000 to the winner of our Scout league, while our top five will also share £1,000 between them as we also won the League of Leagues for the fourth successive season.

The Fantasy Football Scout Cups

Simon Bennett, aka Sleepysi, is the new winner of the Fantasy Football Scout open-to-all competition after defeating former FPL runner-up Kelvin Travers or “K3lvin” on overall rank alone.

Both were tied on 103 points in Gameweek 38, though Sleepysi emerged victorious as he ended the campaign in 460th spot, whereas K3lvin came in around the 57,000-mark.

The duo both went into Sunday’s showdown owning a handful of shared picks, including Kane, Jesus, Sanchez and Alli. In terms of final differentials, K3lvin had Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Leroy Sane, Ben Davies and Hazard while Sleepysi had Eriksen, Coutinho and Pedro on board.

Ultimately, it came down to a question of captains and K3lvin’s decision to opt for Sanchez – and not match Sleepysi’s choice of Kane – was the deciding factor.

Sleepysi is the 14th winner of our open-to-all cup and joins a growing list that includes donnellc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris and A Manager Has No Name, who edged past Moin in our first FFS open-to-all cup of 2016/17 earlier in the year.

In the third-fourth place play-off, Choppers13 (aka Adam Hopcroft) defeated My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg) by 92 points to 90.

Our FFS Members’ cup also concluded on Sunday and was another hard-fought battle, with Malaikat Jahad getting the better of Kristoffer Asp or “Aspern” by 89 points to 88.

Malakait’s final transfer – swapping Alli for Eriksen – almost cost him the crown and came at the loss of two FPL points, while Aspern’s final trade, which saw Hazard replaced by Coutinho, gained him a single point in a very narrow defeat.

Malakait joins a cast of former FFS Members Cup winners that also includes Waltzingmatildas, Fuzzy Dunlop, Kippax Kickers, Acquafresca, Trigg and Ola Svanheld.

In the third-fourth place play-off, Barwood (aka Steve Barwood) defeated Dynamic (aka Connor Richardson) by 106 points to 94 to win a £50 Amazon voucher.

Both cup winners receive a £200 Amazon voucher, while the runners-up can console themselves with a £100 Amazon voucher. The victors in the third/fourth place play-offs collected £50 Amazon vouchers.

FanDuel Beat The Scout Contest

We also offered the chance to win cash in a final day FanDuel contest.

Essentially, everyone who bettered the score produced by the team of Mark and Jonty in the Beat The Scout contest was entered into a draw.

Razor500 was the manager to emerge victorious after a hectic Sunday afternoon – he receives £50 cash for his day’s work.

He scored an impressive total of 334.75 points for Sunday’s matches – Spurs pair Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min supplied 97.75 points between them, while Liverpool duo Philippe Coutinho and Georginio Wijnaldum chipped in with a combined 84.75 points.

Congratulations to all those involved and here’s hoping to another successful season next time around – roll on August 12.

Am I the only one on this site who finds membership a distraction and not beneficial?

I think it was 2-3 seasons ago I was a member and I did not enjoy it at all.

Mountains of necessary stats a clunky interface, numbers everywhere.

Is there no 'members lite' version so you can pick and chose what you want?

I found the layout unappealing as well - compared to the likes of fantasy football fix who use plenty of colour and simple arrows and things.

I know people say it supports the site.

Then I might as well do Matt's trick of giving a pound each year instead? 😀

Because Iif I became a member would find myself clicking on the members section (getting the haze) or ignoring it altogether.

What would the point of that be?

The bits I did find useful were the ticker and the rate my team.

I found the ticker decent (but you can create one of those yourself on excel)
The rate my team tool is by far the best thing going for members as far as I remember (I used it a lot)

The heat maps idea interests me because ESPN used to have heat maps for Premiership matches (for free) I used to use this a lot before it was discontinued.

I suppose what I am asking for is more visuals please and less clunky numbers.
It reminds me of using SPSS a statistical software tool!

Membership certainly is not essential you will get on just fine without it
I am not one for all the trawling the stats tables myself but they are nice to look at sometimes especially Jontys goals imminent table 😉

I do like the members articles a lot they are worth the money alone
I do sometimes use RMT but i would take what it says to with a pinch of salt
I still will happily sign up for membership again next season the site is a work in progress and i am glad to support it

When i seen the traffic on this site on Sunday before the deadline which was crazy it made me think that a members forum might be not such a bad idea as it was next near impossible get a balanced response to a question in between the deluge of RMTs but this will have it own problems and is elitist which is not good for the fpl community in the main

Fantasy Football Fix is all style and no substance. There price change predictions are awful, use fplstatistics instead. For prediction data use FFS. Only the Game Week Live page actually offers something worthwhile

Often times I don't get to see games, so I use the memebers area to see what players did from an objective standpoint. Additionally, I find the player comparison tools very useful, as well the ticker, and the wealth of general statistics.

I've been a member for several years and while I don't always plough through the stats, I find many parts of members area very helpful and they have made a positive difference to my fpl team.

For example I went off the boil at the start of this season, for various reasons - new job, moved house, first child etc. and rarely had time to use the members features or spend much time planning my team - and the results were horrendous.
Once things settled down (gw28 onwards) and I stated to spend the odd half hour or so looking around the members site and making more informed transfers then my team really improved. So thanks to all the contributors and the good stats/analysis provided!!!

I didn't use the tables and stats as much in the second half of the season, and that's when I had most of my green arrows.

However, I often went the lazy route with RMT to make a lot of my difficult sub / transfer decisions. I didn't do any analysis to see if the decisions I used it for ended up being correct, but it certainly helped me make my decisions and a lot of those decisions ended up working.

I've been a member for 2 years now and have never once used the ticket or RMT, and am rarely one for number-crunching... I just like having the option to use the stats or comparison tool when I'm really stuck

The 'supporting the site' argument stopped being relevant a long time ago. The site rakes in enough form advertising, sponsorship and it's affiliation with the official game.

This year was my first year on the site - my rank didn't change massively (10k last year to 25k this year)

I plan on buying membership next season, because I'm basically addicted to fantasy and want to have even more stuff to waste my life on!

I do think that you have to be careful though when reading comments on here. A lot of people base their recommendations on other people's recommendations and this can lead to a large majority of the site 'going with the crowd' instead of thinking for themselves and offering their own advice.
Notably, many people triple capped Negredo - to me, it appeared as though even buying Negredo was daft.
Also, there were a lot of Sanchez sellers - Sanchez was rightly a season keeper this season, but I think once it starts being mentioned people do it more and more.

So, go with your gut, take advice from the site with a pinch of salt but still take note of it

      1. Wrong Captain Choice - Ag i…

Like you the Negredo thing baffled me a bit why would you even get him?

Unfortunately I was Sanchez seller did not have him for the doubles I was convinced treble arsenal defence gave me better options overall.
Unfortunately Costa and Hazard did not hold up thier part of the bargain!

You are correct an idea does get a momentum on here.
But I prefer to go with my own ideas most of the time.

I don't make full use of the members area as I could (and would if I had more time) spend hours trawling through stats. I find the members articles where they cherry pick stats very useful as long as you think about them objectively - you can pick out positive or negative stats about any player depending on the point you're trying to make. The player comparision tool is really useful when you're struggling to pick between two players.
You can pick up most of the information via reading other peoples post anyway but the most important thing for me is supporting the site. I spend so long on here that I think it's only fair that I pay the price of 3 pints of beer (you can tell I live in the South) for a season's worth of information and discussion about one of my favourite hobbies.

I like many people was a big Bond film fan as a young falla

What was your favorite Bond film that Roger stared in?

Hard to pick one for me really i loved them all but A View to a Kill is especially good i thought the soundtrack by Duran Duran helped

I also really liked The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me and Octopussy

If I am honest he was not my favorite bond by a long way, and I think he carried on too long as bond.
But he seemed like a decent fella. heard much griping about him in the media

Of those films I would pick the man with the golden gun.
Mainly because I thought a golden gun was cool.

Live an let die by a very long way.

It has context in that Moore was lined up as Bond for a long time prior to that and this was finally his time. Roger Moore was a major TV star before that so it's easy to see where the hype came from for those not familiar with his history.

The excitement and anticipation of that debut makes it easily his biggest and finest moment as Bond. ..well that and the theme tune

      I remember it well.

Roger Moore wasn't my favourite Bond but I liked his suave, tongue in cheek style. Unfortunately he was let down by the quality of the films themselves, which have aged quite badly compared to others.

If I had to pick one, I guess it would be The Man with the Golden Gun, with The Spy who Loved me a close second.

Mourinho - "We are all very sad about the tragic events last night; we cannot take out of our minds and our hearts the victims and their families," he said.

"We have a job to do and we will fly to Sweden to do that job. It is a pity we cannot fly with the happiness that we always have before a big game.

People lose thier lives all the time in all sorts of scenarios all around the world.
One life is not more important then the next.
This is just a particular tragic incident that is magnified by media attention.
In a month or two's time the media will be on some other story.
Meanwhile the injured people or the families of people who died in it will only be remembered on 1 month 1 year 5 year 10 year anniversaries.
That is how the system works.
Cliches are used such as 'put into perspective' and so on so forth.
Worst of all the politicians use occasions like these to manipulate the public and release other news which would other wise cause uproar/

By it's nature yes it is going be magnified.
I was just looking at how the media report things like this.
Since it is getting more frequent.
I am not a journalist student or anything.
But I am just curious as to how they operate.
The ones I have found about how the media report tragedy are mostly american so far and a bit dated.

She wants the top job in British politics which is Prime Minister. Part of being the British prime minister is leading the exit from the European Union which was voted for democratically by the British people. Doesn't mean she is now for it. Heads of state don't get to do everything they want. That's how that works.

The point is the magnification of incidents by the media over others is due to shared language, customs and how proximate a tragedy is to a neighboring area.

This year Man Utd have won Community Shield, League Cup and mostly the Europa League. He said he wanted to win trophies. Man UTD drew many matches in the league due to poor finishing despite creating many chances, otherwise their position in the table would be much higher. Also they give priority to the Europa League in the last few months.

I see a lot of comments about Zlatan for next season. The guy has just done his ACL which is about a 9 month recovery. You're looking at half way through next season before he even starts getting game time. He should not be a factor in considering new signings.

I managed to win a friends sky fantasy football league where I deposited money via skybet. Winner gets 60% so not bad. Thing is nothing has been transferred over yet...and I'm not sure what to do as I was under the impression sky kept the money (you had to pay to enter) and would automatically release the money at the end of the season.

    Hey All
Now the season is over I am looking for some general advice

How do people pick solid defenses?

Every season I have the same issue, I just cannot get the defense right, regularly getting 0 cleanies from 3 def and a keeper. normally I would spend something a decent amount with a mix of big guns, and 4.5s etc.

Yet I can't see to pick up the points while my rivals have no issues, (one actually played 5 at the back 2 weeks in a row and only missed 2 cleanies

For me defence is all about value. Essentially you are looking for-
      a) nailedness - Does this player play week in week out
      b) value - as low as possible
      c) fixtures - are there several kind fixtures on the horizon, and do the team have a good defence
      d) is there a possibility of attacking returns

Examples for this season are Holding, Davies, Yoshida, Ake.

Really good tips, especially d.) it doesn't matter if you're missing out on some clean sheets if you are picking up the odd goal. Also bear in mind that each goal your defender scores might just ruin the clean sheet everyone else's defender might have got. If in doubt, all things being equal, choose the defender with the most attacking threat.

Oh, Boris, I'd add e) Manager

If the manager is a Pulis/Allardyce/Mourinho character he will build the team from the back.

Until the last six GWs of the season blew this out of the water, I would say something like a Klopp team is kind of the opposite.

Pulis didn't keep too many clean sheets this year from memory. But I agree with the general.point.

I like the look of PVA and Dann for next year.

I usually try along those lines.
In regards to value how would you spread the cost out?
For example I started the season with
        foster
Morgan,Shaw,Friend,Souaré,Mcauley (missed all his points which brings me to my next point)

would you recommend doubling up on certain defenses?

Also do people use stats - I am a member but fell away as work took over my time and my mini league drifted away. but I will be renewing

        Spot on.

Find two premium teams firstly and generally choose the cheapest route in unless you have attacking potential like walker or Alonso.

Then I would tend to go with low price defenders with attacking potential like holebas and brunt. Then one filler at 4.0

I tend to pick 3 solid goal scoring or bap magnet defenders, a 4.5 back up and perhaps even a 4.0 non playing defender.

I usually pick them like this:

        5.5m+, 5-5.5m, 4.5m, 4.5m, 4.0m

In order of priority, this is my thought process:

        1) They NEED to play week in week out, you don't want to be wasting transfers on defenders later on. Don't pick injury prone ones like Phil Jones or Luke Shaw!
        2) Are they out of position or on penalties?
        3) Next prioritise likelihood of clean-sheets. I try not to get too bogged down in defence rotations etc and just pick from teams that I think will be solid at the back long term.
        4) Lastly look at things like goal-threat and bap magnets, you can't be relying solely on their attacking returns unless they're already fulfilling 2).

All you need from a 4m defender is 1). Don't be afraid to double up if the value is there.

Pre wildcard I had Alonso(no brainier basically a winger with CS), Toby for Spurs CS and no rotation risk, and mixed and matched Mawson and Maguire who both carried plenty of threat. Holgate was my 5th man at 4.0m.

I'd happily start next season now with the same players!

Tough one - rule of thumb tends to be:
1x premium, 2x mid/cheap, 2x cheap (1xfodder maybe within that 2) - I tend to always assume I will have 3 defenders playing, of which one will be a premium, but defence has such a random feel to some years (especially this year, there were swathes of time when I just couldn't get a cleanie) that I will happily drain resources from it (make it the least worst within tight confines) to get it further up the pitch 🙂

So I agree with BB in that you want nailed players who are cheap.

It also helps to think about the defence as a unit - you want to be doing a defence which is "set and forget" as far as is possible for the next few weeks, don't think of them as being like mids/forwards that move in/out depending on who's in vogue, you want to be messing with it as little as possible.

Obviously these are broad points and there are always exceptions to the rule (e.g. a defender like Alonso played OOP = instabuy / Coleman's form until injury)

Worth noting - it generally doesn't matter how good the player is - pick the defender with the most chance of attacking returns in a solid defence.

Picking a good defense is tricky and could make or break you after you take the usual form and fixtures into account you need to be looking for a player that will has a chance of delivering attacking returns like Yoshi who is cheap and makes his way into the box for set pieces

Often times we are inclined to go too cheap on defense. I learned a few years back to have one or two premium options. You can supplement these with 4.0 - 5.5 options that rotate nicely.

The reality is that top teams tend to have more clean sheets (so start with one or two of these), and it is easier to downgrade your defense once it's established who the cheaper top defensive teams are.

I'm different to most people when it comes to my defense. At the start of the season I look for bargains like everyone else but as the season progresses and my team value increases I tend to invest much more heavily in my defense and this coincides every year with an increase in overall rank.
If you can get in goal scoring defenders who play for teams with a decent chance of a cleansheet and also rotate them by good fixtures then it means that you always have a decent sub on the bench and you have a good chance of scoring points, I also like a double up. After Christmas my defence was Alonso, Coleman, Baines, McAuley & Brunt which maximised good fixture rotation with attacking defenders. Once West Brom's fixtures turned and Coleman was injured I had Alonso, Valencia, Baines, Davies & Bertrand rotating between 3 and 4 spots depending upon Llorente's fixture difficulty.

I'm not against cheap defenders - I had Stephens for the last few weeks but unfortunately most cheap defenders are cheap for a reason. Looking at points per million defenders offer excellent value, when you also factor in rotating them due to fixture difficulty and home games you can pick up a lot of points and still have the key players in midfield and up top.

To do this you need a high team value and up until Christmas my transfers are dictated in part by increasing my value. All 15 spots should be taken up by players who are playing and doing well - no leaving Amat in for weeks on end as 3rd sub. I also WC early on when prices are most volatile but that's a whole different topic. 🙂

Not just to increase team value but I would (and have) to improve my team overall even if he ends up on the bench that week. I don't think you can look at a hit as just being about value, it's about whether it will benefit you in the long run.

I tried something different this season by selecting 2 premium priced defenders and choosing 3 budget rotating defenders.

I wanted to give this a go having read an article that Peter Blake posted on this link
      https://mathematicallysafe.wordpress.com/2016/07/15/fpl-strategy-three-rotating-budget-defenders/

I worked out on anewpla that my defenders averaged a fraction over 4 points per match over the season using this strategy. for me this was an improvement on previous seasons but I don't know how this compares to the more experienced managers who have replied to you.

      My general rule is

      Pick 1x heavy hitter

Then for the other 6 (including GKs),

Pick 3 defenders from the promoted club who are going to play (as they will be 4.5m region)
Then 3 defenders from the teams the promoted club rotate perfectly home and away with.

      Advice for the next season.

Choose Spurs & Chelsea defenders - who play week in week out as these two teams have proved that they have solid defense. For goalkeeper, pick one from small team as they have BPS for saves.

I will choose the cheapest from these two teams (Exception might be Alonso who's very attacking and score a few goals this season). The rest I will choose defenders from small teams just to save cost. I figure you will use 3 defenders most of the time anyway and 2 spots are reserved for the expensive defenders.

I usually pick WBA as Pulis always make it tight at home. Or Burnley.

    13. Jafalad

      Key point:

Defenders tend to be the lowest scorers in the game.

Keep this in mind when you are picking your defenders. Look for teams who look likely to keep cs or have a good record for cs e.g. Spurs, Mourinho teams. Just focus on value and seeing this as an area to save on the budget.

Structure your defence with at least one expensive defender (5.5 +) so you have some regular points coming in. The other defenders should not cost more than 5 million.

Towards the end, my defence stood as:

Alonso, Stephens, Holgate, Yoshida and Bavies.

This is a really good mix with two defenders from teams who habitually keep regular cs.

Forget the rotation nonsense some like to peddle on here. Good defences will keep cs, home or away.

problem with this is 3 (possibly 4) of those were basically end of season cheap injury replacements for much more expensive defenders (Rose, Coleman, VVD).

Defenders are underrated here. How many people look for a cheap 4th mid and continuously complain at poor returns? Playing 433 you can get rid of the poor mid and increase one of your defenders to someone like Brunt/ McAuley and watch the points roll in until a cheap good mid emerges.

Not sure I have the mentality to play four at the back. I'd be worried sick.
You make a good point though especially for the start of the season when it may be easier to plan around a "starting defensive" then downgrade after

If you go for attacking ones you'll feel great. I started the season with Shaw and Valencia rather than the either or. Imagine having Alonso and Cahill at starting prices...

He's going to Spurs anyway. Defoe will be quality FPL-wise at Bournemouth. Hopefully they drop his price due to a poor second-half of the season. If Kane gets a price-hike for scoring 8 goals in the last 2 gameweeks, Defoe should get a drop for finishing the season off poorly.

Depends on budget. The 0.5 would be worth it for free-kicks alone.

Not for 0.5 cheaper. Not as advanced a position, more injuries, and not on free kicks. For 1.0 cheaper however..

Liverpool fans reckon we need a new keeper in the season? If Karius has performed like Migs has this calendar year we'd be praising Klopp for such a good signing. He's still got that howler in him though

    1. Polaris - The Mortal Coil
      • 10 Years
      6 years, 11 months ago

He's always had those howlers in him - had a reputation for being a flapper in Germany. Particularly in 14/15 when he was arguably the most error-prone keeper in the league that season, before improving greatly in 15/16.

Said all this before he signed in a conversation with Balders iirc. He's no Timo Horn but he's still a good young keeper, & I still rate him above Migs tbh.

We were on such a great path regarding the transfers this last years. Canteranos took the priority, followed by Spaniards then fill the rest with superstars and young talents. Splashing 50 mil for a 16 year old that has played once for a regular team is stupid. Hope we follow it up with selling Danilo to Inter and replacing him with Achraf. Bale next on the chopping board.

How is Bale viewed by Madrid fans?

Was viewed as great, second violin to Ronaldo in this team till this year. People in Madrid sadly love their superstars, one of the reason that scum Florentino keeps on winning (that and the fact he is the only one who can even be a candidate because of the laws he wrote basically). This year though, even the people in Madrid are losing patience with him (much less us, madridistas, that were against him coming). His injury record, being the worse player on the pitch and Real having a new golden boy in Isco are factors that are going to help people quickly forget him.

Shame for him, I loved that goal he got against Barca to win the copa del rey but that was a few years back. Injury is so annoying, hopefully after a rest this summer he will come back stronger. I imagine they will need his pace as Ronaldo's minutes start to be managed more, hope he stays and has a better time next season.

wouldn't mind seeing him back at Spurs though, has the pace we need!

If Everton sell Barkley and get Siggy for less/equal amount that would be excellent business

Can't see where Barkley would go and get regular game time which is a step up

      Maybe arsenal instead of Ramsey

Perhaps spurs. But where would he fit in. He is Alli position really. Perhaps dembele but isn't as good as either

People seem to have forgotten Zlatan did his ACL, an injury which usually requires around 9 months recovery. I see him being talked about in United's attack for next season but he won't be back til well into the new year, even if he does stick around.

Apparently his recovery is going significantly better than normal. Might be back few months before the first reports.
