    Is Salah + Solanke —> Haaland + Bowen (-4) a no-brainer here?

    Turner
    TAA - Porro - Saliba
    Salah - Son - Gordon - Palmer
    Watkins - Solanke - Alvarez

    (Sanchez*) - (Trippier - Taylor - Anderson*) - 1 FT - 2.5 ITB

    Cheers!

Mad moves given you have no idea if haaland is even training?

Bowen has been consistent yes but only has 1 double digit return

Ah my apologies, had not seen the update about him being out for a bit longer. Assumed he was back this GW as was the sentiment a couple days ago

Nah you’d want solanke too, in the form of his life and up against a back 4 of full backs when he’s just scored multiple headers in his last game

Haaland could be out until late January or later, and Solanke is playing Spurs

Need to use a FT, will then have have 2 to deal with Son/ Salah next week.

Kabore seems main issue and want Moreno or Gusto but can’t see where I’d start them:

    Areola, Dubravka

    Trent, Gabriel, Porro
    Palmer, Saka, Son, Salah
    Solanke, Watkins, Alvarez

    Udogie, Kabore, Gordon

I would expect Moreno to outscore Porro & Gabriel this week

If you did Kabore to Gusto now and have him first sub, with two ft you could feasibly bench Son/Salah while they’re away and move Gordon on. Might make sense depending on how much money you have in them

Bookies always just cover their own backs with odds like these even though someone like him hasn't been in great form and is getting less minutes than before, it's why I don't pay much attention to them with regards to FPL

On the face of it, would you do Saka to Foden or Bowen?

Is Pedro an option at Brighton?

I'd still have 2 free transfers next time out.

      1. Nate(U)dog(ie)

Probably yeah. Don't think there's much to fear from Saka any more even when Arsenal are in form, two double-digit hauls all season with none in the last 12GWs, only scored 6pts or more four times in that period too

He hit the post and was involved, he had something like 10 shots but half were blocked and just 3 on target.

He'll score again and Fulham away could be it.

          Otherwise I'm selling Son.

Bowen looks like the Mr consistent replacement but Foden looks right for their next game which the stats say they are likely to dominate.

Ah I didn't know. Still, xG wasn't exactly that high despite that, I've gotten rid as I'd just prefer someone like Odegaard who is more likely to pick up bonus when returning and that I feel is due to pick up soon. Feel like I never know what we'll get with Saka

I captaind him as well but still got away with a green arrow.

Got through in the England cup but got well beat in the Arsenal Cup 51-69 points by someone who had Pedro, Chann and captain on Isak.

Didn’t see any of the game, just heard he had lots of shots. Does him being unlucky not to haul say more to his potential, or is it more he’s not as good of an option as he was if he can have a great game and still not deliver?

its the bigger picture. He won't beat last seasons points total and he's 1m more expensive than then against a backdrop of some high achievers at much lower price points.

If Son and Salah weren't offski everyone would be selling Saka.

Pedro is not an option no mainly because you have to play him all the time really otherwise who knows when you're benching a penalty. And he always features for De Zerbi in some capacity so not like you can rely on autosub.

He's been rotated plenty with Welbeck and Ferguson out injured, can't see how that changes with them back fit to be honest.

We now have Fati, March, Adingra, Mitoma, Enciso injured.
Only attacking players available are Pedro, Welbz, Ferguson, Lallana, Buonanotte.

The problem is that the guys left all prefer to play centrally, with only Buonanotte really effective out wide, plus De Zerbi likes to rotate anyway (too much IMO).

Despite this, I expect Pedro to be first choice for the next month and he's likely to see the most game time out of that list.

If he was a guaranteed 75-90 minute man its a similar argument to owning Palmer I guess but he's not as nailed as Palmer and he takes up a striker spot where most people are only playing 2 of them. Plus Brighton still have Thursday nights to contend with going forward. You can't really bench him because of the unpredictability of penalties and that is pretty much his appeal, Brighton haven't been as good as last season on the whole, they've showed glimpses.

Yep, agree - I'd prefer a 5th mid in most cases. However, with funds from Salah/Haaland/Son going round I think you can afford to have a playing squad, just have to risk benching points occasionally.

Brighton are generally much more effective at home with some nice fixtures coming up, and don't play EL again until March so wouldn't worry about that for now.

All that said, RDZ could quite easily decide to give Ferguson another run!

2023 meaningless football buzzword has to be "process". Seems to be the ultimate get of jail free card for some managers. even players are using it in post match interviews now. a bit like children picking up bad language from their parents.

I think we'll get a reaction from Newcastle and they'll give Liverpool a good game. Just a gut feeling though. On paper its one of the hardest games of the season for Liverpool but the recency bias will suggest otherwise. Maybe its form, fatigue, maybe its just football. Who knows? What I do know is there's a lot more than gut feeling involved in Sheff Utd being the worst team in the league.

Not really been keeping up with Chelsea and their defensive situation. How long is Gusto nailed for?

he's not, they have lots of options at the back and Poch seems to chop and change them. He's a very cheap option and should be treated as such, anything you get is a bonus.

On WC, going to keep one of Salah or Son for this week then transfer out.

Was set on keeping Son, but with many captaining Salah it could be ugly if he hauls

So keep Salah or Son for this week?

Salah. Spurs missing both CBs impacts build-up and Son was stationed far too wide yesterday, Kulusevski also suspended this weekend

Try having Flekken - he makes my skin crawl. Will never set foot in my team again would rather have nobody in goal

It's just so typical! The very moment I decide to transfer Areola out and bring in Dubravka, the guy suddenly decides to start keeping clean sheets. It's like he knew I was making the switch and wanted to prove a point.

Here we go, folks, the list of pressers for Friday (in GMT):

        9.30am - Howe
        9.45am - Klopp
        11.30am - Moyes
        12pm - Postecoglou
        12.30pm - Guardiola, ten Hag
        1pm - O'Neil
1.30pm - Silva, Iraola, Frank, Kompany, Emery, Pochettino, Hodgson, Edwards

We had three yesterday, with the details here: https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2023/12/29/fpl-gameweek-20-team-news-and-injury-updates/

That just leaves Arteta + De Zerbi, whose teams were playing last night. I'll see if there's anything embargoed to come. Brighton aren't playing again till Tuesday, so there's a chance RDZ faces the media on Sat, Sun or Mon.

There is indeed embargoed stuff from Arteta to come at 10.30pm GMT tonight.

And nothing embargoed from last night from De Zerbi, so he's probably speaking over the weekend or on Monday.

In the similar situation, did Gordon to Foden and really not sure whether I should do Darwin to Alvarez as well. For your team, definitely would do Gordon to Foden, benching decision is easy with Archer.
