The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Sixth Round Draw

This evening we reveal who has made it through to Gameweek 18’s sixth round fixtures of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

For this contest there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition, the highest scoring manager each round will win a £30 FanDuel credit, with Big Phil Soccer Team winning that accolade after defeating Funkyav 74 to 51.

He squares up to the FFScout moderator and contributor crew’s last remaining representative, TorresMagic, in what looks like being one of the last 32’s toughest clashes. Just under 10,000 places in the overall rankings separates this pair.

The next highest scoring managers in round five, Tutankhamun, Real Sociopath, Moin, DillyDingDillyDongFC and A Manager Has No Name all win a £10 FanDuel credit.

Among this group DillyDingDillyDongFC will be a favourite to progress, as his rank of 7,316 makes him the highest placed manager left in the competition.

He faces one of the competition’s lowest ranked managers, Space Cadete, who is positioned at 1,033,108 in the overall standings.

Other eye catching community regular ties in round six include Bashvilla’s match with Pinky Unites and The Shoe Makers fixture against Back on the Horse.

The fifth round results can be found via this link, while the full sixth round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

tell me more about it. everyone selling firmino but hazard has been equally poor in fpl terms

firmino - 0 goal in last 6. hazard 1 goal in last 6. meanwhile sanchez 6 goals 3 assists in last 6

FAO People that have been taking hits to build value/protect value.

At what point do you stop and reign it in?

People who have played this way in the past, do you see massive rank leaps based on the power of the extra spending power?

Never taken so many hits in the first part of the season before and curious to know others experiences who have played the game this way.

Happy to take hits at the beginning and then reign it in the 2nd half of the season. I have probably taken too many this year, but my value is looking healthy.

What would you class as good value? I'm on about 105. I'll probably stop the early transfers in the new year. I think it will pay off for me having a good value

105 to 106 is good enough i think previous season I often have 1m in the bank after a few weeks so not concerned

No idea, I'm on 105.3 now and ready to stop but I'm wondering if I've left myself too much to do in the second half, on 869 points and wondering if I'm too behind for it to make up.

It really doesn't make that much difference. Every season there are top-10 players with below average TV. It is more psychological than anything else.

I always seem to have a better second half, think my team value could help with that.

I don't think it's possible to correlate whether big rank leaps are down to extra spending power or anything other factors, like picking the right players.

I also don't think you should have a set plan, or either take hits or not take hits. Just do what you think will return the best points return.

Hmm, I'm not sure, being able to afford say Bellerin over Monreal or Valencia over Jones could prove quite significant over time I'd say.

yeah probably, but there are so many variables, including each FPL player's judgement and choices. It is of course very possible to succeed with a lower TV, as has been shown in previous seasons.

Yeah im on 882 but dropped from 60k to 280 last few weeks. I've taken more hits at this stage than last year but I compare my team to teams around me who also have hazard and Sanchez and their strikers are poor and also have capoue as a 4th mid. Im fairly confident I'll gain the last few weeks back. Hoping for another top 50k finish

Around the end of January after the mid season transfers have had a chance to come onto our radars.
I have ended up with several million sitting in the bank for the last few months of previous seasons.

I just get who I think will get me the most points. It's such rubbish that you need a great sv going into the business end. There will always be a combo of cheaper players who outscore a combo of more expensive ones. Finding the right combo is no easier with a higher sv.
Where sv comes in handy is short term, the extra .1 or so sv often allows a better move next week, whether that turns out to be the right decision is upto the fantasy gods

Morning fellas. Wildcarding Aguero back next week and already tinkering with options. Thoughts about this wildcard draft?

    Heaton, Pickford
    Amat, Jones, Alonso, Nyom, Friend
Walcott, Allen, Sterling, Sanchez, de Roon
    Zlatan, Costa, Aguero

Would leave me with 0.0 ITB. Balance is quite ok despite of heavy frontline. Walcott and Sterling could also be Coutinho and max 7.2.

His team is just so much better than mine....(same players in CAPS)

        Me:

        SANCHEZ, HAZARD, Payet, Fer, CAPOUE
        IBRA, Carroll, Costa

Ditch Capoue for De roon and use the money to upgrade stones to Tot/Che or Fer to Lallana maybe?

Ibra, Costa, Hazard and Sanchez should stay

          Cons
You do have too much WHU. Maybe look at Rondon after this GW as a 3rd striker. Payet money could maybe be switched to Mhki when fit
Dont like Capoue/Fer as a 4th and 5th mid but dont think think its worth a transfer to change

Other way around. Keep the obvious options, the most highly owned the better.
Same goes for the defense. Get Alonso Heaton ManU defender, Arsenal defender

Nah, you can still claw that back with a few good weeks if you get some key decisions correct.

    2 FT

    Pickford/Jaku
    Alonso Walker Cedric Amat Pieters
    Wally Siggy haz sanchez allen

Get rid of Kane + Origi for Ibra + another?

It's been a bit of a disastrous run for me lately. Only 2 green arrows since GW11. Dropped from 22k to 135k. And yet I feel that my team is in good shape and should deliver decent points regularly.

Did Kane to Ibra this week (couldn't afford to move Costa). So Kane is surely bagging a hattrick against Soton as he's still in most of my ML rivals teams.

    Team looks like this:
    – – – – – – – – Heaton – – – – – – –
    Alonso – Lovren – Holebas – Amat
    Hazard – Siggy – Eriksen – Sánchez
    – – – – – – Zlat © – Origi – – – – – –

    Pickford – Costa – Fletcher – Pieters
    0 FT – 0.0 ITB

Am I waiting for a false dawn with this bunch?

Defence needs a lot of work. There are good points to be had down there.

Really? Alonso, Lovren and Holebas have been my most consistent players in the last few weeks.

Amat is there just to warm the bench most of the time. This is the first time I'm actually playing him.

Pieters can sneak in front of Lovren or Holebas, given the right fixture.

      Jones tbh.

If he is nailed after those 2 could be great.

Remember when we were talking about Firmino scoring less with Coutinho on the pitch? Now apparently he never scores without him. I'm very much in the "wait and see" category on return. Will def be getting Cout in early if he looks good.

Tbf, he's got some great chances recently. It's incredible how he has managed to fail to convert ANY of them.

Do you guys think Brunt is worth the price difference compared to his teamates at the back?
When Nyom leaves for AFCON, could Brunt go back to a less advanced position on the field affecting his attacking appeal?

Avoiding Sanchez captain here, West Brom conceded more than 1 on the road only once, which was 2 against Liverpool when they were in full flow.

On the same logic I may play McAuley over PVA.

so they conceded two on the road against the team most similar to arsenal?

      I'd never bench PVA personally.

I wont capt Sanchez either but I do think Arsenal will score. PvA more of an upside than McAuley imo

Firmino looked good against everton, so easily could have had a decent haul if it werent for some good saves.
id be worried if he wasnt getting the chances. I reckon he will be back on the radar after the stoke game
