A shame that RMT posts have been relocated.

Might as well move A/B questions over there as well because they're actually worse than RMT's

Sort of but if someone says
          A Mendy
          B Roberstson

My advice may be different if i aw their team had, for example, Ederson, VVD etc

You would expect teammates to be part of the question.
If there's a clear choice, it shouldn't matter unless the 3 per team rule is a factor.

For many, including myself I think it helps to see what the team structure is like, how many players from each team, rotations etc. The rest of the team plays a huge factor on who to pick in an A/B question imo

Normally A/B questions have players who play in that team each GW.

Exactly, Of course seeing the whole team aides forming a more informed opinion and therefore giving 'good' advice

The rest of the team has no bearing on the players they listed as A or B. Mendy's appeal has nothing to do with how many City players they have or how many premium defenders or what structure they plan on playing. They want to know A or B and that's it.

        I entirely agree.

If they have a weak defence and the A / B question includes a weak defender v a premium defender, then knowing the rest of the defence is hugely important

        A Mendy & Ramsey
        B AWB & Sane

I can’t properly answer that unless I know the relative strength of the defence and midfield.

I think it was a great idea myself and has cleaned up the threads.

Also the reply's seem to be better in both the RMT zone and in the normal threads.

A/B questions that also list the rest of the team must surely still be allowed ?

It’s the mindless ‘rate my team out of 10’ that was the blight of this place and just clogging things up

  7. dinvincible

Vertonghen had 16 clean sheets last season and played more than 3200 minutes. Ended up with 138 points.

Ben Davies had 12 clean sheets and played only 2400 minutes. Total points 143.

Is it worthless to buy premium defenders with negligible attacking threat?

Some CBs seem to hoover up baps without much attacking threat and can equal assist / goal points. None of the premium one's spring to mind though, if you're looking at the big teams it's the attackers who tend to get all the baps.

I'm picking premium defenders with some attacking threat. And Mendy maybe.

      1. dinvincible

Defenders who regularly get bonus points are very useful, for example Sakho looks like he could score very well.

      1. dinvincible
        • 10 Years
        5 years, 9 months ago

Yeah, I guess chances of CBs getting bonus points are higher in case of smaller teams because of low scoring 1-0 games

Assuming that you want to have one nailed on player on bench , why waste extra .5 on a midfielder.
A 4.5 defender has higher chances of getting 6-8 pointers whereas midfielders in 5-5.5 range get 2 pointers in most of the games.

Wilshere is 5 too. Redmond 5.5.

It looks like pedro will start the Huddersfield game for sure. Willian just came back, can't see him or anyone else starting ahead of Pedro who has played in most of the pre season games. It will change if Chelsea buys some winger though

Cheers, I'd like to have three nailed on bench players. At the moment I'm planning on starting Cairney for the first game and then playing Maddison as soon as Leicester get Man U out the way. An assist or something wouldn't go amiss.

        1. dinvincible
          • 10 Years

I don't see reasons to leave funds on bench permanently. Maybe one nailed on defender is good enough to cover in case of injuries etc
1.5 or even 1 can turn a very mediocre 5 or 5.5 into Richarlison or Pedro or even Mkhi etc

Utd defense purely cause of ownership if you want to play safe-ish . Especially with Toby about to sign. Jose will rather draw nil nil than lose one nil I'd say

You play the game the way it should be. Back your picks, take your hits when necessary. I am going to practice some of that this season. Just get rid and never look back..lol. Not more hoping for good things from Matt Phillips.

The problem is never gw1, it's how we react to the stress. We are either chasing or being too stubborn. We react to risk in a familiar pattern and fail. We cannot beat the crowd by risk-on, they are too smart. We can get lucky though, the only way, take a chance?

My first A-B question (new era)
Which has less risk and hence preferred?
    A) Bailly, Robbo, Luiz
    B) Shaw, TAA, Azpi

Head2head leagues means a muppet wins. Beat them all year then they get lucky with a chip in semi and your gone Same story last 3 years.
And I am not bitter about it all. To reiterate I am not bitter about it at all. 🙂

I think its worth to have KDB from the start even if he doesnt start next week.

    - Not a lot of nailed premium players(other than Salah/Mane) within all positions due to WC games. Spurs MU players mostly from Belgium England, Hazard with future concerns, Arsenal with bad opening fixtures.

    - Most nailed pick from Man City arguably

    - Even if Mahrez/Sane start and score points GW1, there will always be possible rotation risks to them later

I am doing exactly this. Keeping 0.5 in the bank from the off so I can do it. Spurs first two fixtures are great (and yes I am aware their team is depleted somewhat)

      2. irsyadFC
        • 7 Years

i expect Spurs struggling with notable key players missing pre season games. So hold a 9.5 player from them for two GWs is a no for me. Moura/Lamela punts may work though

This Eriksen is just as nailed as KDB, Salah and Mane.
I got Eriksen Salah and Mane with KDB in for most likely Erik in GW3

My one concern is that the Casual player will see KDB didn’t play and sell him and then his price will drop... better to buy him at 9.9 then bench him at 10.0

Maybe Mendy if playing tomorrow /today.
But still maybe Savies for 1 and 2.
More nailed first centre back then full back either way he plays and 2 plum fixtures.

Is Rudiger worth the extra 0.5 million over Luiz? He seems to be more nailed with Luiz/Christensen going for the other CB position (and rotated perhaps?)

    1. Lav
      • 7 Years
      5 years, 9 months ago

I would say Rudiger is more nailed, but Luiz really could be the one over Christensen.

I prefer Christensen, but as of now Sarri clearly favors Luiz.

    I get removeing RMTs
But if it is just replaced by A,B or C is it really any different. Don't get me wrong I don't even mind answering RMTs

But here is the kicker. I have never really seen removing RMTs working but now that it has I thought there might be more detailed strategy or formation discussions etc but now happening from what I can see. Any thoughts on this. Or just tell me to start an interesting thread if I want if I am so concerned ....

Occasionally you see some really good threads where people actually disagree with each other and there is some debate that is sometimes where the gems of info come from. That's what I am talking about.

Personally I don’t mind RMTs because you can just ignore them if they are too complex and if they are simple and to the point, they are just like A or B questions but with a better overview. But obviously the majority don’t like them or they wouldn’t be sanctioned.
