FPL injury monitor: the latest news and quotes

The international break is a period rife with uncertainty, with various Fantasy Premier League players nursing or recuperating from knocks and each withdrawal from a national squad greeted with as much scepticism as it is concern for the fitness of a prized FPL asset.

We’ve taken the downtime of this Fantasy-free fortnight as an opportunity to bring you the latest club bulletins and direct quotes concerning the players affected, which will hopefully assuage any injury fears – or perhaps add to them.

Ryan Fraser

The Bournemouth winger triggered a wave of apprehension when he pulled out of the Scotland squad on Tuesday, the second international break in succession in which he has returned to the south coast early.

The Scotland manager Alex McLeish said this of the pint-sized midfielder:

He’s been getting treatment, not doing so much training, and saved electric performances for his club in recent weeks. We were very keen to get him involved given the way he’s been burning it up.

He was very keen and came up on the plane on Sunday but he failed a medical with the Scotland doctors and physios. He was absolutely determined to stay but we had no choice but to send him back.

The issue has been reported as a hamstring injury, a problem that has seemingly plagued Fraser since September.

We have been here before, of course. Fraser was a major doubt ahead of the visit of Leicester City in Gameweek 5 and hadn’t been spotted in training ground photos prior to that clash, but subsequently delivered his biggest haul of the season with two goals, an assist and maximum bonus.

Bournemouth are yet to make a statement on Fraser’s condition, with the hope (for his 22.6% of owners, anyway) being that his withdrawal from the Scotland squad is purely precautionary – though McLeish’s comments about “failing a medical” will only add to the anxiety.

Marko Arnautovic

Before we trigger any unnecessary fretting, the West Ham United striker is not injured per se and his problems don’t warrant a flag in FPL – but quotes from the player yesterday confirmed he is playing through the pain barrier at the moment.

Arnautovic said:

The knee is not the best but I am fit and I can play. I’m not training a lot at West Ham to try and my knee calm.

It is going to take some time as I have some inflammation in my bone but I am always ready to play on the weekend.

After a game, I need some rest for about two or three days. By the middle of the week, I am training normally with the team, training in full.

And on the weekend I can play, that is the most important thing. Obviously, you can’t do anything on this bone bruise.

You can’t change it, you can’t do nothing, you just have to treat it well to settle it down but I can handle the pain so for me in the game I am 100 per cent fit.

I’m ready for every game. I’m ready for Northern Ireland and afterwards back at West Ham my focus will be on Tottenham.

Questions on Arnautovic’s fitness have been a weekly occurrence in Manuel Pellegrini’s pre-match press conferences over the last month or so, but the Austrian forward’s comments state that he and the club have developed a fitness regime designed to help him play on a weekly basis – excellent news for the legions of us who either own him already or are considering acquiring his services for the Hammers’ superb run of fixtures between Gameweeks 10-21.

Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic

These two Manchester United players both pulled out of their respective national teams’ squads earlier this week, though the concern from a Fantasy perspective will be for Shaw, rather than his Serbian team-mate.

United’s bulletin said:

Luke Shaw has withdrawn from the England squad and is returning to Manchester United, meaning the in-form defender will miss the two UEFA Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.

The 23-year-old’s exit from the Three Lions’ camp was announced by The FA on Monday evening, and he will now return to the Aon Training Complex for treatment.

It remains to be seen if Shaw will be available for the Reds’ anticipated return to action on Saturday 20 October, against Jose Mourinho’s former club Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

His issue has been widely reported as a knock picked up in the 3-2 win over Newcastle United last Saturday.

The club’s statement on Matic followed a similar template, with the “remains to be seen” line trotted out for the Serbian midfielder too.

Further updates are awaited on Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera, who remain doubts for that trip to Chelsea.

Danny Rose and Alex McCarthy

Thursday morning brought news that England had been hit by two further withdrawals, as Rose and McCarthy returned to their respective clubs.

The pair had sat out training earlier in the week but the Football Association’s statement played down the severity of their injuries:

Having arrived in camp with minor injuries, Alex McCarthy and Danny Rose have now returned to their clubs and won’t feature in this month’s games.

Both Spurs and Southampton also emphasised the precautionary nature of their withdrawals.

James Milner

Reports circulating this week in the media suggest Liverpool hope to have Milner back from a hamstring injury within a month after the midfielder was substituted early in the 0-0 draw with Manchester City.

We previously discussed the potential positive implications for the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane regarding spot-kick duties, with Milner having headed the queue so far this season.

What we didn’t note at the time, of course, is that Milner has taken more corner-kicks than any Liverpool player this season – meaning the likes of Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Xherdan Shaqiri may stand to benefit at dead-ball situations.

Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Mousa Dembele

Roberto Martinez appeared to give the game away earlier in the week regarding the severity of Vertonghen’s injury, saying this about the defender’s hamstring injury:

It’s bad news. He could miss two Belgium camps.

That would put Vertonghen out at least until the November international break. Pochettino was unimpressed about Martinez’s disclosure to the media and was less forthcoming with a timeframe for Vertonghen’s recovery:

We cannot guess. We hope as soon as possible it can be fixed, but we cannot guess.

No official recent update has been given on Eriksen, Alli and Dembele’s absences, though there is speculation that Alli might be ruled for another few weeks with a hamstring problem.

Serge Aurier

The Ivorian full-back is set to feature for his country this week after being included in their squad for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Aurier’s return to fitness could impact on Kieran Trippier‘s game time, with the England right-back having enjoyed the monopoly in that position over the last fortnight.

Kevin De Bruyne

“In contention” for the match against Liverpool but ultimately not risked, De Bruyne looks set to make his return to the Manchester City squad in Gameweek 9 for the visit of Burnley.

De Bruyne was left out of the Belgium squad this week in order to aid his recovery and his national team boss Roberto Martinez had this to say about his star midfielder’s healing powers on Sunday:

The issue is how long he will be out and the reports are very positive. I think we’ll see him on the pitch a lot earlier than other players would take with that injury [and] we think he could be even fresher after his period away.

No timescale yet but Kevin wants to be on the football pitch as quick as he can and physically he’s got that natural gift of being able to heal quicker than other players.

Sergio Aguero and Benjamin Mendy were omitted from their respective countries’ squads this week, meanwhile, welcome news for the Fantasy owners of either player given the fitness worries that have dogged them both in recent weeks.

Christian Benteke

The Eagles gave an update on the Belgian striker yesterday:

The club can confirm that Christian Benteke has undergone minor arthroscopic explorative surgery and washout of his knee, as it had not been settling with conservative management.

The surgeon was happy with the outcome and we expect Christian to return to training very soon. A further update will be given in a few weeks’ time.

Scott Dann and Connor Wickham, meanwhile, are set to feature for a Palace XI in a friendly against Dulwich Hamlet tonight.

Mesut Ozil

Reports in the media suggest the German midfielder will return to training this week after missing the win over Fulham with a back spasm, though he wasn’t pictured at London Colney on Wednesday.

Petr Cech is likely to remain out until November, meanwhile.

James Tarkowski

The Burnley centre-back withdrew from the England squad with a groin injury and said this about his planned recuperation over the international break:

I’ve had a problem for quite a while now and we’re working hard to get things right. But it’s not as simple as just a week’s rest and everything’s fine.

We’ve got to be at it all the time to get things right, which we are doing, and hopefully over the next few weeks we can get that right.

Antonio Rudiger

The Chelsea defender had this to say about the groin injury that forced his withdrawal from the Germany squad:

I won’t be available for the German national team for the upcoming two matches due to a groin problem.

I will do some individual training sessions during the international break and I am confident to be back soon. Best of luck to my German teammates for the next two games.

Rudiger had treatment at the end of the Southampton match in Gameweek 8, though it remains to be seen if he is fit for the visit of Manchester United a week on Saturday.

Mathew Ryan

Anyone who has brought in Brighton’s goalkeeper for this excellent run of fixtures that the Seagulls are embarking on would have been concerned about his omission from the Australia squad on fitness grounds, but the Socceroos head coach Graham Arnold has eased any fears of a possible absence in Gameweek 9:

Mathew’s managing a minor injury which hasn’t prevented him from playing or performing for Brighton so far this Premier League season.

He could have travelled to the Middle East, trained with us, and played against Kuwait, but for this window, we believe it is best that he remains in Brighton and returns to full fitness with his club.

The Rest

Aaron Mooy (groin) only has a minor niggle despite pulling out of the Australia squad, while Paul Dummett‘s ongoing recovery from a hamstring injury forced his withdrawal from Wales duty. The Newcastle left-back was in contention for Gameweek 8, so is not thought to be seriously injured.

Davy Propper (foot) and Ilkay Gundogan (hamstring) are also unavailable for their national teams this week and will be assessed ahead of Gameweek 9.

Charlie Daniels (knee) continued his comeback from injury with an appearance for Bournemouth’s under-21s last week.

Marco Silva last week said he hoped to give Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes, Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy minutes over the international break, as did Sean Dyche of Robbie Brady.

Slavisa Jokanovic said Tom Cairney is “not working with us” and “still with pains” after the defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

Our Injuries and Bans page has more detail on a raft of other players currently nursing knocks or more serious injuries.

Had a chance to think more rationally bout the Kane debacle now and I've come to the conclusion that getting him this week was a mistake, but for one reason and one reason only.
All the stuff bout Spurs not playing well and Kane dropping deep is just words managers use to glorify their own decision in not picking him. All these things were true before the Huddersfield game too and yet he hauled. All these things were also true before the Barcelona game yet he still scored a
quality solo goal. In fact that goal was what made my mind up to get him, it showed that however badly Spurs may or may not play he is still very dangerous.
No the mistake was getting a player in for one game (especially for a hit), it's just not long enough to ride the waves of variance. The play was to get him for Hudds or not invest at all.
Makes getting Salah easier now though because that will definately be for more than one game. As to whether it works, well that's up to the gods.

So essentially form is temporary but class is permanent?

I think Kane is someone you set and forget. He hasnt got the best reputation of turning up when you want him to for me, and much like the barcã game, he can score in unexpected fixtures but fail in the easier ones.

Would this make him an unreliable captain option then? And if he is an unreliable option for the captaincy can he fully justify his price?

Exactly this. Too rich for me, and unreliable. Last season was the perfect example. Always in the running for the golden boot but it's often boom and bust.

I'd take reliable lower returns than inconsistent explosion on occasion.

He has scored over 20 goals in the last 4 seasons...

Every player has purple patches and periods where things don't go their way...

The difficulty is getting these players at the right time.

Writing off players like, Salah, Hazard, Kan and Aguero etc. alltogether is the worst thing you can do.

It was just the fact that it would take (at least) one transfer to get him in, and another to get him out as Aguero vs Burnley is far superior. I know FTs are "free" but I treat them as if they're worth points because they are there to get you more points. People put too much stock into individual weeks and miss the bigger picture.

Too much uncertainty over how Poch is lining up Spurs. Is it 4-2-3-1 with Kane up top, or 4-2-2-2 with Kane and Moura up top. Until that gets settled then Kane is not worth the investment IMO. Personally, if I were a Spurs fan, I would prefer Moura to be dropped and Kane up top with Eriksen, Alli and Son in behind. Kane has shown his class and is the main man so needs to be treated as the main man IMO.

I fully understand but it doesn't make it a mistake imo. I did it in full knowledge it was for 1 GW only, and I'd do the same again. Of course it was a risk, and the variance element to FPL socring enhanced but even so it was worth it because of the potential upside. I'd still say it was the right decision depsite getting stung pretty much as bad as is possible (I lost Wilson for a hit to get Kane(c)). It was high variance but looking back even for 1 GW it should have payed off far more likely than it didn't.

This was my Haz (c) + Kun vs Haz + Kane (c) prediction/reasoning:

      https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2018/10/01/wolves-wing-backs-offer-value-in-fpl-as-the-harry-maguire-of-old-returns/?hc_page=1&hc_sort_by=comment_date#hc_comment_19009036

even with a hat-trick from Kane, there was only 10 points to be gained from it, factor in the extra transfer (as below) and it was only 6 points 'at best' - of course Aguero blanked and had Hazard done the same it would have been a different story.

      https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2018/10/05/minutes-for-hazard-as-lacazette-gets-another-attacking-return/?hc_page=3&hc_sort_by=comment_date#hc_comment_19031633

actually looks like I took into account the extra FT, so it was effectively 10 points 'at best' - still, I've found that hokey-cokey's/very short term transfers fail more often than not because of the added FTs(hits) taken to achieve it before and after that GW.

Those that planned on wildcarding straight after the GW mitigated that risk somewhat, but those may have also 'wasted' a WC they didn't need to use had they just gone without Kane.

Also, when doing a transfer like that you block yourself from doing another move which would have been more beneficial - those transferring in Doherty (instead of using the FT on Kane) for example.

The WC factor was why I went for it TBH. Agree that there is a huge opportunity loss by swapping players in and out on a regular basis, but prior to a WC I think its justified, as you can correct any lost transfers in one swoop. It also enhances the value of the WC, as you get a boost immediately before playing it too. Obviously that was a massive fail here, but in theory I think its fine.

all the more you should keep Kane now, because you have decided that he's good but need more games.

I wouldn't put it past him to score a brace against West Ham, followed by Salah blanking. Are you going to be knee jerky if that happens?

    8. Eze Really?

I got him for a hit but not for an expected score, but more to cover the fact I could lose 20 points in a week. turned out to be unwise and not my style to make a negative cover. I would have used Haz normally and I deserve everything I got.

My stance on Kane hasn’t changed, and to be honest I think his card was marked last year. Scoring 30 goals & still not breaking 220 points was a massive red flag that his FPL appeal is diminished. If he was 11.0 he’d be selectable... at 12.5 he’s just not imo.

It’s not that he’s not a great player, and it’s not that he won’t score goals & get points, it’s just other players offer better value & allow a better team (imo)

Who knows though, maybe he’ll hattrick v West Ham.

      1. Eze Really?

        As you say, who knows.
ATM Laca, Vardy Arnie can be expected to be within 20 points of him at the season end.

Yeah, he’s just not someone I’d want in my team at his price. Same as if Man City signed Messi, but he was priced at 25.0, he wouldn’t be selectable. Every player has their price.

Agree - a relative rip-off but I'll definitely be owning for periods when Tottenham have sustained great fixtures and 'form' (beating teams easily and also not having half of their team missing through injuries). Hopefully this little episode puts people off owning him later on, because he will be the best captain choice at some point again soonish.

I think it needs both fixtures & form for Kane, coinciding with an injury to one of Haz, Kun, Salah to make Kane viable

this is exactly right. He was pretty bad value last season in terms of points per match per million, and that's with him having a great season and scoring a lot of goals. Of course, there are specific situations where it still makes sense to get him (a particuarly great run of fixtures, or when other captaincy options are looking weak), but as a general long term pick, I just don't see the logic.

Agree with this viewpoint. Kane doesn't usually contribute over 30 goals in PL in a season whereas there are players out there that have contributed more or just as many goals in a season like Sterling, Salah, Sanchez and Lukaku just to name a few. So having Kane throughout the season isn't a good idea. It's always best to have him when he's in top form and at high fitness levels in a cluster of appealing fixtures.

Kane could be worth his price over the season if Tottenham as a team play exciting football. They're just too inconsistent in performances so that's a factor to consider when buying Kane as a long-term option.

There was a lot of peer pressure on here to get him in for the Cardiff game after his decent score v Hud! Fear of getting left behind if he scored a hattie and Haz blanked etc. I must say that I considered it right up until deadline (due to this, despite my gut telling me it's a bad play) but thankfully I held firm!

Excellently put and completely right. We can't predict what will happen in a single match with any accuracy, but we can make some predictions about what's likely over a longer run or a whole season. I know Kane will outscore, say, Ings over the season, but on any given week that's nowhere near so sure. Transfers are precious and need to be used to bring in players for at least a few games.

      This. 100% correct.

Now looking back, I saw I already missed one or two wagons this year already.

Lacazette is the biggest one. His fixtures were clearly taking a turn for the better and when he broke into the team GW4, that was the time to invest. He had a sustained run of great fixtures and I just didn't pick him up. He was the correct pick on my WC because he was a pick for more than just 1 week.

The good news is, now is a time to capitalize on past mistakes. Liverpool are hitting their best run of fixtures this season (even better than their good ones at the start) and investing now is the move. Don't wait. Just bring 3 of them in asap and climb the ranks over the next 4 weeks.

This is why I want Salah. I managed it with other players and it has allowed a rapid rise. Laca is different. He was not nailed on in gameweek 4 and not bringing him in was the correct decision at the time.

Yep. Many thought earlier Mkhi being sure starter and Laca might have been same kind of trap back then. And whether he could match Auba was not certain either. Kun had hauled gw2 and many (like me) needed to get Haz in those days.

The problem with Liverpool is that choosing the best attacking Liverpool assets includes serious price drop risk. Choosing any or any two of the following and blank in next game will result to price drop. By waiting one more week it is possible to check the form they are in and save 1 ft. Also many have Kane and Trippier vs West Ham which is not a bad fixture. So perhaps it is better to wait (one gw) and see?!?

Salah -19.2% and one price drop already
        Mané -69.4%
        Firmino -92 %

Getting him in for one game was always a mistake. Especially for those who had other squad problems. I didn't have any squad issues and brought him in for Car/Hud. It proved successful. No hits taken, I will revert back to Salah this week and switch Kamara to Arnie in the process. I made the correct decision before and in hindsight.

I don’t think it was a mistake to bring Kane in for Aguero just for one week and to take him straight back out. It is a perfectly good use of a transfer. Agueros record against Liverpool is shocking and there was no signs that was going to change and the fact Kane had a home fixture against Cardiff was just to good an opportunity to pass up.

I think I want to monitor how Salah does at least for Egypt first. If he is no good, I think I can wait and Captain Kun (or even Hazard). But should he start scoring, then it is a different story.

Planning ahead for these fixtures is was key. I personally brought Kane in for the Huddersfield game as part of 2FT i had purposely saved, knowing that I would have 2FT to take him out after Cardiff for either Mane or Salah this week, who obviously mirror the exact fixtures except for the Home/Away factor.

Now I don't preach to be some genius for doing so because this was pretty basic planning for even the casual of non-casuals. Getting him in for just one week was always risky, especially if it involved a hit to do so and then get him out.

Yes, the Cardiff game flopped but the sensible move is to chase these fixtures with the key players/Team when they come around. They're just simply too good to miss out on.

Hazard hat trick was vs Cardiff. And also Haz is known for being hard to predict. With hindsight these are so easy... And we have close to similar situation with Salah coming soon. Should he fail vs Hud here will be two camps and the other is later able to say "I said so"...

Why is this "wannabe hot topic" not hulked yet?

Makes sense. When ran the numbers last week I found the higher the OR the higher the Salah ownership.

I would have thought it would be the higher the OR the lower the ownership of Salah got as those who had spend the difference had been able to strengthen elsewhere.

Still though, for the first time since early last season Salah owners can cheer his goals even when they've not captained him... I think?

Yup. My prediction for his EO this week is 40%. 20-25% owenership, with 15% of that 40% giving him the armband.

So 0.6 points profit for every point he scores.

As of GW8 start: 23% in top 10k. 35% in random sample.

Currently 33.5% overall. I’d imagine top 10k is about what it was, ie 20-25%

Well, fpldiscovery takes a snapshot at the start of a Gameweek. I don’t know any sites that give you a live breakdown for top 1k, 10k etc. I don’t see how any could..as who knows what transfers have been made.

Overall ownership can just be calculated simply though.

Maybe I am being dense, but it says

“As per last known data, ie end of last transfer deadline”

I think this means they take a snapshot at the end/start of the new GW? These numbers aren’t “live”?

I mean, they could take another snapshot of the “new” top 100/1000/5000 before the start of GW9 (to adjust for movers in and out)

But you’d have to guess transfers and captaincy stats.

Still, with some luck, you can roughly guess what the next GWs EO will be.

Thanks. Ederson is a cheap way into the City defence IMO. Won't score as many points as Mendy, but not going to be rotated. Mendy looks like a beast, but he seems to get injury problems.

Ederson may be a cheap way in but Patricio should score similar points and is significantly cheaper.
A little cash in the bank is always useful and would enable Wilson to Arnautovic in week 11.

Ederson looks like a great option with the fixtures coming up. I'm buying him this week coz I have the funds and need to replace Hennessey who is gonna have a tough run of fixtures ahead. So if funds aren't the problem, then get him.

"Kun’s already outscoring Sterling, from less minutes, for the same starting price"

Amazing how one word can change everything! If you didn't use the word "already" there, you'd be all good, but saying "already" implies that it will continue, at least to me. This is simply incorrect, haha! Sterling could easily outscore Aguero in the future, you have no way of knowing! Each to their own, and I'd probably have Aguero too but the fact that Aguero is "already" outscoring "Sterling" doesn't mean that Aguero is of course a better pick than Sterling!

Amazing how people can draw incorrect conclusions from simple facts.

I don't understand why the FA is considering selling Wembley.

A rich businessman wants to buy it and make a good ROI on it. If the FA doesn't have any debts to pay off, why does it need the large influx of cash from the sale?

Surely better to make a decent yield on the stadium for many years over the future. If the stadium has no income potential then why does a businessman who is known for making money want to buy it?

I don't know very much about it, but you make some good points - at the end of the day some 'decision maker' is usually getting a decent back-hander to force things through though, so logic doesn't really apply.

So what is Shahid Khan doing with it to turn it into a money spinner and why isn't the FA doing the same thing?

If he wants to use it for his Jacksonville franchise, then why aren't the FA looking to enter into a long-term deal to make Wembley the official home of the Jaguars?

If the FA want more money then start using their existing assets to turn a yield rather than running down the capital base.

Good shout but he hasn’t played regularly as we expected.

I prefer Yedlin and no way am I doubling up on them.

Currently planning a surprisetrip down to Manchester for the Liverpool clash for my sisters 20th birthday, and right now there is a sale on fight tickets for the game at 23. February. Currently set on 22-24th fly down early and return late.

The game was subject to being moved due to EFL cup, but right now both teams are out of the cup.

Manchester united plays Crystal Palace the 26th and Liverpool plays Watford the 27th.

The EFL cup final is played the 24th.

Would it be safe to assume that the game will be played at February 23. since it cannot be moved to Monday 25th without moving at least United - Crystal Palace.

I am not looking for a 100% answer, more for a qualifies guess based on previous years.

      Thanks for all help!

Will be a televised game. So given fixtures next week they will probably play 12.30 on Saturday 23rd IMO with Sky taking it as first pick.

My thought process was that they would pick the 12:30 or the late game that day would be the pick for the TV stations

Not sure if it can be a late game because of policing concerns. Could be a very early Sunday afternoon kick-off, but unlikely IMO. Think it will be 12.30 kick-off on the Saturday.

Alonso + Mane or Salah + Bennett?

I can't shake the urge to get Salah for the next two, but Alonso and Mane feels much stronger somehow.

      Rest of team..,

      Ryan | Button
      Robertson | Mendy | Doherty | AWB
      Hazard | Richarlison | Maddison | Masuaku
      Aguero | Mitro | Jiminez

I was playing around with my team today and toying with potential transfers to be made in coming gameweeks and seeing if I could afford the moves I wanted. After locking my phone and coming back to my team later, I found that I had somehow taken a -20 point hit to make 7 transfers this game week fml. I’ve emailed customer service and my only option is to play my free hit chip. It’s even more annoying because I was really happy with my team this week. In summary would you play your free hit, or stick with this team and a brutal -20 for this game week.

      New -20 team:

      Patricio
      Mendy Taa Alonso Doherty
      Hazard Salah (c) Richarlison
      Murray Mitro Arnie

Button de Bruyne wan b kenedy

      Old well loved team:

      Patricio
      Robbo Alonso Doherty
      Salah (c) Hazard Richarlison Fraser
      Aguero Mitro Wilson

      Hart Wan b Billing Holebas

Sorry for the long post but thank you for any help or advice on what to do in advance

If the free hit means these transfers will be reversed then definitely do that. Pain in the backside of course as it's a chip burned but better than destroying your team and taking a massive points hit.

Yeah they’ll be reversed just means il not be able to use the chip and lose my two free transfers I’d saved as well haha 🙁 can’t believe there is no way for them to undo such an obvious mistake

Just build the best team you can for this week, you never know you might get lucky.

Last year the FH wasn't that successful in the Blank GW, a lot of non free hitters posted similar scores that week.

6 players from Liverpool and City in this WC team. Are too many?

          4-3-3
          Ederson
          Mendy - Robertson - TAA - Doherty
          Salah - Hazard - Siggy
          Aguero - Arnie - Wilson

I'd say B if he stays fit and doesn't get rotated but that's a big if. Alonso is a much safer pick. Depends how you want to use your 3 City picks too. 3 out of Ederson, Mendy, KDB, Sterling, Aguero.

Did mendy to trent 2 weeks ago, caught the price rises and benched him for both tough fixtures, is doing the reverse transfer ridiculous with the fixtures smoothing out now or is mendy just too insane a defender to not own (own Robertson as well)

          Fabianski - Foster
          Alonso - Trippier - Doherty - Cook - AWB
          Salah - Hazard - Maddison - Richarlison - Hughes
          Aguero - Wilson - Ings

I’m currently on Foster + Trippier to Patricio + Robertson.
