The FPL line-up lessons we learned from Gameweek 6

We take our regular look back at the Premier League line-ups from the weekend just gone, analysing the systems and personnel used by the 20 top-flight clubs and seeing what lessons could be learned ahead of Gameweek 7.

As was the case last week, we are harnessing the use of the average position maps in our Members’ Area and highlighting some of the key stats from each game.

The figures in brackets given after each player name in the article below correspond to the numbered shirts in the position maps.

    Really looking forward to the Chelsea run of games with the Mount and Tammy double up. Havent been able to enjoy their attacking displays so far as I havent owned any of their players but thats changing now 🙂 Maddison and Haller out.

      I don’t think he’s over though , will get starts including I think this weekend
      Just make sure bench is strong and potentially have to sell him soon

      Cheers lads. I have spare cash but Otamendi looks most nailed on back. Zin dropped to 5.5 and Ota up to 5.5 now. In a week could be 5.3 and 5.7. No point in wasting 0.4m.

      For sure very soon. Willian/Pulisic/Pedro in there over Kovacic when they want to go for it. Mount super safe it seems then it’s just a case of 2 of CHO and who I mentioned above. I think your 3 is correct 90% of weeks though

        CHO at 5.9 could be ridic value

        Mount has been unreal and is portably underpriced at anything up to 7.5 - but CHO should be every bit as good if not better

          Mount’s playstyle screams FPL gold just haven’t had the chance to get my hands on him yet. CHO’s not so much just yet but if mount’s price skyrockets he’ll be a good alternative or double up option

      Looks like you could use a better defender for this week, as I guess Kelly is starting for you. If you're happy to remove Sterling to Son, you could make an upgrade, but your team looks very nice. Montoya to Tomori could also work

    Struggling a little bit this week to decide what the priority should be. I have 2FT and £0.6 ITB

    Button Montoya Wickham Lundstram

    Players I am considering removing are AWB, Maguire, Kane and Wickham (price dropping).

    If you're wondering why i have double MU defence I was one of the GW3 wildcarders, and tbh they've kept as many CS as Liverpool and 1 more than Everton over last 4 weeks so it's gone ok. But it was always a 4 week play-the-fixtures type of risk... and now the 4 good fixtures are up. Obvious thing for me would be AWB+Mag to TAA+4.5 (probably Tomori).

    It does however feel like Abraham time. I've been patient with Kane, and he's got a return in the last 3 so not in a massive rush, although I do think his low xG suggests he's been lucky, and ignoring Augero/Auba could have gone much worse than it has.

    So boring defender transfers or something more creative, maybe involving Kane or Wickham? Or even Sterling, although my gut says hold, there is obvious reasons to drop him, plus price is dropping.

        As in upgrade Wickham? The issue with that is that it would mean benching Cantwell which I'm not sure I want to do most weeks.

          Cheers - yeah that's what I was thinking with Kane. Just needs one chance or a penalty and he's probably getting bonus too. Looking at fixtures I might target GW10 vs Liverpool as the week I remove him. My team is kind of dictated by the GW3 wildcard - I couldn't resist Kane with Newcastle at home...

        Think Cantwell Pukki week in week out is a stretch. Away form is looking worrying.

        I'd keep Kane for now and perhaps move onto Vardy from him in 9. Still lots of firepower.

        But with that itb I'd just get TAA and your choice of budget defender from the two Uniteds.

        Then in 9 Kane can become Vardy and you can upgrade Cantwell or Wickham perhaps

          Cheers! Cantwell is rotating with Lundstram/Montoya, but I think it’ll be Cantwell most of the time. Feel like I’m missing the Abra train a little, but agree removing Man U defence is the priority. Hopefully Kane can match or outdo Abra. Will revisit Kane in week 9/10

                        I reluctantly sold Pepe this week for Son. Fixtures are better for Son. And raw comparison has Son on top as well. I gave Pepe 2 weeks and he didn't do enough for me. I'm welcome to switch back again at some point, but the next 3 are clearly better for Son and bagging that price rise is nice too.
