Want to work for Fantasy Football Scout? Get in touch

As we gear up for the start of the 2020/21 season, we at Fantasy Football Scout are frantically working behind the scenes to make improvements for our site users and subscribers.

We have a number of exciting developments in the pipeline but we’ll need an additional body to help us roll out the changes we have planned.

This time we are looking for someone to take on a full-time tech-based role.

We want a front-end web developer with experience capturing requirements and delivering projects.

We are looking for the following skills from our candidates:

FRONT-END

  • HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Sass
  • React
  • jQuery
  • Bootstrap
  • AJAX

EXPERIENCE

  • BSC Computer Science or related 2.1 min
  • Two years minimum commercial experience

We mostly work remotely but, on occasion, we like to get together in person – so if you are based in/around London (or able to work there now and again), that would be beneficial.

However, those that work outside of London should most definitely still apply. Talent is more important to us than postcode!

Flexibility of hours is also preferable.

Based on past experience with our job adverts, we need to stress that it may take a little time to look through and respond to applications.

If you want to get involved with the next chapter of the site, please drop us a line with your CV at jobs@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Martial or Rashford. Who do you think will score more points this season?

Yeah but his form hasn't been great after the injury where as Martial's form has been great

Based on last year, you'd think Rashers as a milf would be ahead by the season's end.

Good point. I still think Rash will score more points though. Martial is such an unreliable little blighter.

Actually I think reliability works the other way round - Rashford is the unpredictable one

Can only find 2 instances where Martial has blanked 3 times on the trot in the last 2 seasons when he's been uninjured. Rashford has gone on some wretched streaks.

When uninjured is the rub I suppose but easy enough to drop.

Have you tried factoring in that Rashford took 6 penalties which he will not take this season? At least not that many

Pretty straight forward - every GW, depending on the average GW score across the game, a certain amount of players in LMS are eliminated if their score is in the bottom n%. This keeps trimming the herd until the last man/woman/gender-non-specific individual is left in the final GW.

Are players from clubs who have been involved in CL and EL games since the restart of the season expected to report for international duty in early September ? If so none of those players will get anywhere near the well-publicised 30 days rest between seasons

Anyone else having trouble with the mids/forwards?

I have Kane in my current set up. Then I thought 'but Son is 1.5 cheaper and in midfield - surely he's a better pick!'

Then I realised that because I already have two cheaper strikers, there's not really anyone left in the bargain bucket up front, but there's plenty of good value mids to pair with Kane.

    Long story short, struggling between:
    10.5FWD + 5.5MID (Kane + ASM)
    7.0 FWD + 9.0 MID (Son + Mitro)

Yeah I’m looking at 451 for now with two 4.5 on the bench upfront until one of the 6m emerge as feasible.

Makes me a little concerned I’ll be playing without a striker were the main main get benched/COVID’d

    Man U Midfield Conundrum!
I want Bruno as he is the best player and on pens but if i get Rashford instead i can upgrade my 4th midfielder from a 5.5 to Greenwood. I also have Mo and KDB. Is Bruno essential?
    a) yes
    b) no, other good options and spread the cash

    1. Andy_Social
      • 11 Years

I found a way to have Bruno and Greenwood. You can have them plus Mo and KDB if you go super-cheap up top.

      1. Fodderx4
        • 6 Years
        3 years, 8 months ago

451 and big at the back? I like to have different price points and want at least 1 playing and be able to change formation easily and jump on players showing form early. Currently on a 433 with Bruno Kdb and Mo with Jimi Antonio and Adams up top and Trent oc and4.5 defenders.
Iti can get Greenwood with x2 4.5 midfielders but don't like it it and don't fancy any strikers below 6m (Adams) and even that's risky.

        1. Andy_Social
          • 11 Years

Could be 451 and big at the back. Or less money at the back (plenty decent 4.5 options this time) and one decent striker.

Definitely are especially with no European need for rotation. I'd replace Jota with Traore on that list. I'm currently on Jimi and Vinagre, and monitoring Podence to see if he starts regularly - presumably at Jota's expense.

I’m more interested in Willian (to start with ) as he is premier league proven but as above perhaps both have competition for minutes

William's main scoring is via penalties. Though he may take penalties, I think auba has a reasonable claim to them. If aiba takes penalties, Willian is very expensive

Time to stop until the fixtures appear I think..

    Ryan (Button)
    TAA - Saliba - Vinagre - Ayling - Justin
    Auba - Salah - Foden - Bruno (4.5)
    Werner - Mitro (4.5)

    0.5 itb

    McCarthy | Nyland
    TAA | Vinagre | Thomas | Ferguson | 4.0
    KDB | Fernandes | Ziyech | Armstrong | Gordon
    Werner | Martial | Ings

How does this look...? Pretty happy and similar to what I'd normally go with structurally, but would appreciate some feedback 🙂

3-4-3... And can always go Thomas to a 4.5 with more security.
I imagine Ferguson would be a good chance.

See below a bit - Ayew

Didn’t play enough games I guess but you’d think he’d be high on the list next time.

Clear pattern to this. Take out the danger man and typically look for teams who play everything through one place - mostly meaning low ranked teams who have only one route to goal.

Finding it difficult to put a team together- give us fixtures!

But Fixtures aside this season more than ever looks to one where you’ll need good TV so early on its key to have flexibility to move for the form players - I really don’t think getting locked on big hitters is wise

At this stage, with that many good options at 4.5 in defence it is a treat building a great looking team for £100m. Later down the line, as prices start to fluctuate and in form players can be found left right and centre - you are right, it will be very difficult to get everyone in. But surely that is the case every season? We were spoiled last season, true, where you could have a great team for 100m at the end of the campaign, but I think this season good value players will emerge as well.
