Fantasy Football Scout Premium Memberships for the 2020/21 season are still available at the pre-season cost of £17.50 – but time is running out on this offer.

Subscriptions will rise to the regular season price of £19.99 on August 31 so, if you haven’t already, make sure to sign up over the next week in order to secure the best-value rate.

The yearly fee of £17.50 works out at an equivalent of less than £1.50 a month (or 5p a day!) as, instead of expiring on June 1 as was previously the case, these rolling annual subscriptions now cover a full 12-month period.

That’s better value than our rivals are offering for the equivalent all-access Premium Membership package.

If you prefer to dip your toe into the water rather than plunge right in, however, we are continuing to offer rolling monthly subcriptions for just £2.99 per month.

Existing registered users can upgrade via this link. New users, who are yet to get a registered account, can sign up via this link.

Payments can be made through Paypal or via Stripe using debit or credit cards.

Does early FPL team news really provide an advantage?

What Do I get for my money?

Well, you’ll be joining legions of other Fantasy managers by signing up, including former Fantasy Premier League winners Adam Levy, Simon March and Tom Fenley.

Thousands upon thousands of FPL bosses take advantage of our subscriptions and sign up every year, using the stats and tools to aid their Gameweek planning.

PRO PUNDIT ARTICLES

You’ll get exclusive content from some of the best Fantasy managers in the business, including Hall of Fame number one Fábio Borges, ex-champion Simon March, five-time top 1k finisher Tom Freeman, three-time top 200 finisher Lateriser and six-time top 5k finisher Zophar.

If that wasn’t enough, Fantasy Football Scout’s founding father, Mark Sutherns, is returning to the site to supply articles and video appearances throughout the season. Again, only Premium Members will get unrestricted access to Mark’s content.

And stay tuned in the coming days for more exciting announcements on that front – as well as updates on a new, mobile-friendly design.

RATE MY TEAM AND PROJECTIONS

Our Projections and Rate My Team tools are both live for the new season, so you can head over there now to start building your teams ahead of 2020/21 and see how many points our algorithm thinks you’ll score.

These features were both refined last year, with RMT’s Professor – aka Chris Atkinson – elaborating on the changes in a Hot Topic.

SEASON TICKER

Also live for the new season is our Season Ticker.

Premium Members can sort by fixture difficulty and find out which teams’ matches rotate well.

Disagree with the Fantasy Football Scout difficulty ratings? Add you own to customise your experience.

FLAT-TRACK BULLY TOOL

Our Flat-Track Bully tool was a new addition last season, with subscribers now able to identify Fantasy assets with good records against specific clubs.

This will help you pinpoint players who perhaps perform better against weaker opposition and even those who thrive against the top teams, like Raúl Jiménez famously did in 2018/19.

HEAD-TO-HEAD COMPARISONS

Compare both teams and players head to head, with over 100 key statistics to study side by side.

PLAYER AND TEAM STATS

There are hundreds upon hundreds of player and team statistics available, which can help guide your Fantasy transfer decisions.

MATCH ANALYSIS

Analysis of every Premier League match (going back to 2011/12!), together with charts which plot average positions and our collection of heatmaps for touches, shots and chances created, among other statistics.

CUSTOM STATS TABLES

Premium Members can also create custom tables based on the data available and share them with other subscribers.

Perhaps the most famous of these is Joe’s Goals Imminent table, which looks to predict which underperforming assets will find the net next.

TESTIMONIES

2018/19 Fantasy Premier League champion Adam Levy was a paid-up Premium Member of our site and he discussed what tools of ours he finds most useful in an interview after his triumph.

In previous seasons we’ve helped FPL winners Tom Fenley and Simon March, while in 2015/16 we were thrilled to see Ed Masters – the winner of that year’s Members’ League – finish third in the overall rankings.

In 2017/18, Paul Gee went one better. He won our Members’ League and finished second, losing out to champion Yusuf Sheikh by just eight points.

Is Steer or Nyland most likely to be no 2 Villa goalie? Assuming Steer as he started when Heaton first was injured and then got injured himself and Nyland came in and didn’t do so great!

as a West Brom fan Pereira has the potential to get heaps of assists. highest last season in the championship. however the problem is who he'll be assisting, currently we don't have a premier league quality striker, last season Austin & HRK got 20 between them, which is very poor for a team finishing 2nd in the league (the previous year we had Gayle & Rodriguez who got about 50 between them).

so I'd watch who we sign up front before making a move. I'd expect he'll drop in price abit given our tough start.

I think spurs will be tight at the back this year. Mourinho will make them hard to beat and feel Davies will get a few assists. Also just feel a new GK for sheff will change there defence and be nowhere near as solid.
So Davies but I’d choose a 4.5 option over both.

Am seriously considering BB gw1, Wc gw2 and would love some more for and against arguments and opinions.

    For:
    1. Allows to set up 15 playing players from the start and not worry about it again, meaning that I can focus on a strong 12 players and keep 3 fodder on the bench for the rest of the season.

    2. Basically, its a good opportunity to get BB outta the way as it feels more like a pain than a bonus sometimes

    3. City, burnley, United assets become available gw 2, therefore, to WC in gw 2 has added impoteus this year.

    Against:

1 uses BB and an unpredictable time i.e.:
    No idea about form
    No idea about nailedness

2 uses WC too early without information about what team to WC to.

Any and all thoughts and opinions are very welcome.

    Please do

Some of the team value increase is just price inflation, but far from all of it.

In GW36+ last year, I could field a starting XI consisting of only players from the top 4 teams except for the GK. I had triple City attack, double United and double Chelsea attack, double Liverpool and one United defence. On top of that, I had four starters on the bench including a 6m+ DCL wasting away on the bench.

You'll never have a team like that early in the season.

Try to fit in the same team with their initial prices and see how far you were from it..

Last year KDB/Bruno/martial/Rashford were priced very kindly.
            Even mount and Abraham/giroud

Yeah, and there should be lots of DGWs this year. The GW18/19 mini-winter break should produce a DGW (and could absorb the GW1 postponements for an extra-juicy DGW), and that will be in addition to the usual cup-related postponements.

Wolves winning the race to secure Arsenal's versatile player Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

As an Arsenal fan, I can confirm that AMN can play LB/RB/LWB/RWB/CM. But, his role at LWB stands out - many might recall his performance at this position against Manchester City and Chelsea at the FA Cup Final.

So, let me come to the point. Wolves are spending 20m for AMN, so he should surely start. As per Wolves setup, he is most likely to get the LWB role meaning our very own Vinagre has to step out.

Anyways, AMN is 5m in FPL. But, I do not see that much of a goal threat from him. He crosses well and defends his line well. He will surely grab at least 4-5 assists throughout the season and maybe an odd couple of goals somewhere.

But, in my opinion, Vinagre's FPL prospect will die when AMN is signed.

This question haunts us all. But, I am leaning towards - Leno will start when he is fit.

Leno was our best player before he got injured. Martinez was not way better, but he performed equally as good as Leno. His long pass and playing from the back is better than Leno though. But Leno's saves better.

Anyways, the perfect indicator will be the Community Shield.

I am going for Saliba myself (sshhh)

Good analysis but AMN has stated he wants a CM role and I feel if he has moved he will of stressed that to the buying club (Wolves) I expect him to fight for a role in the midfield.

I do not see a reason why Wolves would want to break their Moutinho-Neves partnership which has worked so well for them.

If AMN is to play in a CM role, Wolves has to play 4-3-3. He does not play in the double pivot.

        1. Bibidh Subedi

Yes, one option is if Wolves play 3-5-2, AMN can play then. 😀

But, in all fairness, Vinagre is gone.

Agreed. Wolves played 343 21 times and 352 14 times.
But Traore does not fit in the 3-5-2.
Wolves manager would want his wildcard in the team I suppose.

              So, it comes down to:
Traore (in wings) + AMN (in LWB)
or AMN (in CM) + Vinagre (in LWB)

The latter does not look so convincing for me in comparison.

Wolves consistently play 3 in the middle. Also Mouthino is 33 and like any good team they will be starting to look for a replacement. I just think AMN has stressed he wants to play CM, if he is leaving Arsenal i believe he will be pushing to play that role. On that basis I still think Vinagre could be first choice LWB if no more signings are made.

No they don't - they consistently alternate between 352 (3 CMs) and 343 (2 CMs), and usually look more dangerous with the latter

This, his chance to play MF would be when they go 3CB, but even then, he’ll have to see off a lot of competition. His path to minutes is out wide

Surely AMN's versatility makes him suitable at both 352 and 343. In long term, he will look to replace Moutinho perhaps. In short term, he could look to replace Jonny.
But the bottom line is Vinagre is no more a nailed-on option.

      1) Both
      2) Yes
      3) Not for me, Pulisic’s injury makes him nailed the first 4 weeks between the left attacking position and the #9 role, we can play Giroud/Tammy or Mount/CHO around him depending on how we want to attack them, either way I think he is nailed from the start. Ziyech is the one I wonder about; lamps demands a lot defensively with the high press, I need to see that Ziyech won’t be a passenger and is willing to do the work, otherwise I fear Mount May be used situationally in the right attacking mid role to facilitate the press

Werner may alternate between left wing and striker in the start, alternating starts for CHO and OG, I think Ziyech is fairly nailed on the RW, but lamps likes to play mount out there to press teams high so expect some rotation

I’m going Werner and waiting to see if Ziyech can do the defensive bit to lamps liking; he may not care with azpi sitting behind him, but I’m not buying Ziyech just yet. I expect Kai to play as an 8 but he may get some time on the right wing also

Ziyech and Werner have been training for quite a while already; don’t expect Havertz to feature from the off, but I’m not concerned about any dip, I expect it’s more of the same with some more quality and experience

I think there will be a dip with 3/4 of the frontline changing so quickly.
I could be wrong and they could click straight away but from watching teams that is rare.
They lost Willian which would of kept some consistency.

          Werner
          Pulisic/havertz/ziyech
I think will take 5-7 GW to click.

Havertz and pulisic won’t play much in first four weeks, Mount CHO Tammy and Giroud are going to play more early than later in the year, but I think Werner in for Puli and Ziyech in for Willian is easy enough when both have been training for what will be 2 months by the time the season starts. I expect Havertz is going to slot in one of the MF positions in front of Kante eventually replacing one of mount/kova to start

If Pulisic is fit he plays.
CHO has to do a lot to get in the first 11 and Mount is going to have a really tough season with all this quality in front of him.
New premier league strikers tend to go one of two ways and my gut is Werner will take 5 games to get going.
Star this but I feel Werner will score 1 goal in his first 5 prem games.

Yeah, trouble is he’s not fit; won’t be for the first few weeks and we aren’t going to push him back with his injury history. Werner should be on pens and covers our two most open positions perfectly, 1 goal would be a travesty

What is everyone’s strategy between the following and why?

    A) Spend £100m
    B) Leave money ITB and if so, how much?

Just curious which way people are heading.

Normally I always leave 0.5 ITB. I do this because I always aim to carry my transfer over into gw3 so I need to be able to handle price rises. This year is a little different given I'm starting with Auba knowing I will downgrade to KDB giving me my precious 0.5. However I'll probably keep the 0.5 anyway because if Auba hauls first 2 weeks I'll need to rethink.

I like what Joe said in the podcast last week though. "Assume you're going to get it wrong and have an exit strategy". Say you pick Armstrong and not ASM. In the first 2 weeks ASM scores and Armstrong comes off the bench in a game. Very realistic possibility. Suddenly ASM is up 0.1-0.2 and you can't get out without burning another change.

I think spend the budget but have a strategy for key players such as Aubameyang out for KDB in GW 3. I always think if you see something and players perform a -4 hit is nothing to jump
      On the bandwagon.

    A) Fanteam have new player prices every GW

B but I think the prices can directly increase by 0.2 also.

I've got 1m to improve this. What would you do?

    McCarthy, fodder
    TAA, Doherty, Egan, KWP, Ferguson
    Auba, Salah, son, Soucek, Gordon
    Werner, Mitro, Brewster

The eagle eyed will spot this squad is only 98m, so technically I've got 2m to spend, but I want to keep 1m to fund Auba and son to kdb and Bruno at a later date

Morning, had a first serious go at this, any gentle tearing apart appreciated. Rambling thoughts are below as well.

    McCarthy
    TAA Vinagre VVD Ferguson
    Salah Auba Ziyech 4.5
    Werner Mitro

4.0 GK Greenwood Taylor 4.5 fwrd
    0.5 ITB

    - Auba to KDB/ Sterling in a few weeks
    - Should have 1M (or 0.9/ 0.8 left), can move Mitro to 6.5 later if needed or 4.5 def to Shaw/ Dier?
    - 4.5mid over Soucek as as only really would play GW1 for now
    - Could have Robertson over VVD but like the 0.5 ITB
    - Yes, dependent on Ferguson playing
    - Ziyech I like but not locked in for me
    - If I really want Jiminez/ Ings could downgrade VVD later and Mitro up

    Any thoughts really welcome

I wouldn’t go double Chelsea personally, feel they will take time to click. Werner is class and guaranteed to start so would keep him and look for Ziyech replacement. I’d be tempted to downgrade greenwood and find room for Fernandes GW 2 as I feel he is best MU by a mile with pens.
Also souchek for me is great value as he will play every game and I feel he will get 5-7 gaols this year, more than any other in that bracket.
Final point I wouldn’t bother with double pool defence, TAA is enough with all his potential, is downgrade and help with Fernandes situation.

The plan isn't set in stone. I figure I have room for about 4 premiums (depending on where you draw the line for "premium") and I will try to own the best 4 premiums I can at any given time. So the question will be, is Auba still one of the best 4 premiums at that stage given the upcoming fixtures from GW3 onward? Is he better to have during a run of liv, SHU, mci, LEI, mun than a different premium with an easier run?

      1. This is the year

I think Auba as a mid will be comfortably in the top 5 scorers overall in fantasy this year. The key is when to drop him and when to pick him up. That I have no idea the answer.

Looking at a bit of FPL history, with 5 goals and 12 assists in the previous season, why on earth was Vardy priced as a 6.0 forward in the 15/16 season? If, say, Ayew had accomplished that last season, he'd be in everybody's team at 6.0. What context am I missing here, why was he priced so low

Great, thanks so much for your input.

I'm no CHE expert, but does Lampard use James in certain games over others?

Too less of a sample size to get to any conclusions. He just started 16 games last season.
It was kind of his breakthrough season.
If not for Azpi, he definitely feels like he's ready for the PL.. but Lampard would ease him in specialy because he's got Azpi as a great leader to cover for him.

Sorry disagree, it’s clear that he plays wingback when we go 3cbs, which isn’t Lampard’s preferred system, I expect more 4-3-3 with azpi and chilwell the favorites for FB minutes. The only real exception is when azpi plays LB which shouldn’t happen anymore

          Thanks all,

          Really good insight.

Sounds like James will be moved to my watch list and I'll either upgrade to Azpi (playing 352 with TAA and Doherty) or find another marauding 5M wingback....

Bellerin if he starts, which I expect he will

            Davies/Dier otherwise

Yes, all considered. I'm actually looking at Lloris for Spurs defence coverage.....

He won’t play much when we play 4-3-3, will play wingback when we go 3-4-3

This is actually a bit Thiago effect, he allows us to play 4-3-3 like we want instead of being forced to play 3-4-3 with wingbacks. It was our best formation last year, but only because of the issues at LB and CB and Kanye’s injury

Anyone got an eye on a 4.5 starting midfielder?
