Expect if Trossard plays well and scores/assists he'll more than likely start one of those two games.

When has Martinelli ever played as a 9 for Arsenal in a Premier League game? Arteta literally addressed this last year and said he won't play him there and prefers him out wide only. Content creators who know nothing about Arsenal love to push this false agenda. Trossard signature means the chance of Martinelli as CF is zero, or at least requires about 3 people to be injured.

He did play abit there back in 2019-20 with Saka and Pepe either side

Yeah I remember this. He was also a FWD in FPL. Whilst sure Arteta doesn't play him there, he is capable & has definitely trained in the position.

3 sub appearances for a total of 44 mins, four years ago.
Like I say, false agenda. Balogun back next year too.

He got an injury when he was breaking into the team. I remember because he hot that injury the week I brought him in.

Haha that's a good memory, I struggle to remember anything back beyond a couple of year, even for Arsenal.

It was an odd news. Can't see a better striker for Arsenal than Nketiah when Jesus is injured. The boy is good and if he improves his finishing, would be a huge player for the future.

      1. FPL_trail_runner
        • 5 Years
        3 years, 2 months ago

I would predict Nketiah may get some rest over the dgw, perhaps one game off the bench - so id imagine a possible Martinelli or Trossard at CF. Highly likely if Nketiah struggles today.

        1. ZeBestee
          • 11 Years

The thing is Martinelli is not good as Nketiah as a striker. He doesn't bring a lot that Nketiah does such as holding up play, combining with others etc

            • 5 Years

Agreed, its just Arsenal have had and continue to have many games in short space of time.

Although I dn't think you're entirely accurate, I agree and have said the same myself. More likely to see Trossard or ESR as false 9 imo, but Nketiah has been doing a great job and the narrative is to reject this fact for some reason!

Absolutely pathetic leaks today, rather spread no information than wrong information. Most people knew that if Trossard was coming in it was for Martinelli, but these leaks probably swayed their decision which sucks.

What makes this even funnier; is that all week we’ve been talking about how likely it was for Martinelli to lose his spot to Trossard. But no, of course he’d be upfront and Nketiah benched instead. Glad I just watched the new South Park episode instead.
