Damn this article, I was benching Shaw and unsure again now…

It would be silly to bench Shaw at home to Forest.

On paper you'd think so, but did you watch United vs Wolves? It's truly a miracle how Wolves didn't score. I would say Wolves and Forest are on a similar level tbh.

skill wise I think Wolves are special
except at putting the ball in the back of the net

Whereas Forest are the inverse. I can see Awoniyi with his one shot bagging a goal.

I wouldn’t call it silly, just have a difficult benching decision.

Would you bench White, Chillwell or Estupinan instead?

Same issue as last week. Any help would be much appreciated. Pick one to play:

    A) Eze
    B) Wissa

Leaning towards playing Eze, as I just don't think Wissa can score every week. Thanks!

    Johnstone (Turner)
    Chilwell, Estu, Henry (Gabriel, Baldock)
    Rash, Saka, Martinelli, Maddison, Mbuemo
    Haaland, Watkins (Pedro)
0.5 ITB, 2FT's but not really sure what transfer to make.
Gabriel should become trippier but don't need to now nor do I have cash.
Rash can stay for NF this week.
Watkins to Jackson is possible although he just scored a hatrick midweek.
Pedro needs a downgrade elsewhere to get funds for an upgrade.

What the bloody hell do I do

Regardless of Enciso being injured, I think JP to Jackson/Alvarez should be done. You won't start him this week because Jackson, Haaland and all other midfielders have a better fixture. Then the fixtures after that are tough.

Happy with GK, Mids, Forwards this week (Richarlison in last chance saloon)
Onana; Rich, Rash, Mitoma, Saka, Odegaard; Haal Jackson.
Which three defenders should I play?
    Trippier Colwill Cash Gabriel Estupinan.
Seems odd but leaning to Trippier and Gabriel atm.

If you take pens out of the equation, who do you prefer as a stand alone pick?

Ignore the threat of rotation, just who’s the better asset in isolation.

    Martinelli or Odegaard?

It's tough when you factor in team setup.

When Jesus is back, does that increase the appeal of Martinelli as a pick? How does the left 8 in Havertz as an example affect both Martinelli and Odegaard?

      1. _Freddo
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 14 Years

It does yeah because the front 3 are much more fluid & interchange positions when Jesus roams about, Nketiah just stays in the central areas which lessens the appeal of Martinelli.

        1. Tonyawesome69
          • 5 Years
          9 months, 9 days ago

Agreed as Jesus tends to drop more to the left and link up play. How does Havertz affect that side though and impact Martinelli and Odegaard?

He just looks like he's picked up Xhaka's duties to me, I don't see him as a problem to them.

When Zinchenko is in the team I think we'll see a more impactful attacking Havertz.

    Johnstone (Turner)
    Estu, Chilwell, Saliba (Gusto, Kabore)
    Salah, Rashford, Saka, Maddison, Eze
    Haaland, Pedro, (Archer)

I am thinking of Foden this week and could get a different Liverpool player (Diaz/Jota) next week, who looked so much better against Bournemouth than Salah. (for Rashford next week)

Salah could upgrade Archer to Jackson or Alverez, and Pedro to Wissa next week

Awful start and will be travelling home from holiday when GW3 deadline passes. After some advice please guys

    Pickford
    Estupinan Shaw Gabriel*
    Bruno F Rashford Jota Saka
    Pedro Haaland Alvarez

    Turner Stones** Douglas Luiz Kabora

    * Out of favour
    ** Injured

Stones out until after the IB. Gabriel seemingly out of favour (the decision to pick him over Saliba has come back to bite me). Add to that United’s poor performances / form and Pedro being dropped for Brighton’s last game, and I’m in rather a quandary

Do I prioritise shifting Gabriel or hope he wins his place back? If so, I can presumably leave Stones on the bench until he’s fit meaning I only need 1 DEF transfer and cab the move on to extinguish other fires. And who is the best asset? Chillwell, Ruben Dias (only possible if I move Stones out) or Henry from Brentford? Bruno F & Rash get a stay of execution with United home to Forest in GW3. Mitoma looks great but Brighton’s fixtures turn soon (May still replace one of the United mids for him). Do I also need to move Pedro to Wissa? Seems a gamble with him competing with Wellbeck and Evan Ferguson

Any advice greatly appreciated. 2 FT and £1.0m ITB

    Thanks in advance

      gabriel to saliba
its only been 2gwks ,rectify it
      rashford to foden
double utd offense is too much for a side that look miles off it

Thanks but I have 3 City assets. Can only get Foden if I shift Stones instead of Gabriel. Best case scenario Gabriel wins his place back and Stones is fit after the IB. Ideally I’d like to only do one transfer this week but if Gabriek doesn’t start, my Luton defender subs in away to Chelsea! Cue carnage

      Its a great team

I think Pedro starts. Gabriel to Chilwell (or a defender of your choice).

I would move Rashford personally to a Maddison (if fit), or a Foden

Sorry Stones to Chilwell this week. He is out. Gabriel on the bench, i would deal with one at a time)

Thanks mate. I don’t disagree re Rash but surely he gets one last shot with Forest at home? I can’t shift to Foden anyway as I have three City assets. I’d have to move Stones out. You seem confident on Pedro. It’s one from three which are odds I don’t overly fancy

-4 for this and bench boost?

    Pickford
    Saliba/Gusto/Chilwell
    Saka/Foden/Mbeumo/Bruno/Rash
    Haaland/Jackson

    Turner/Akanji/Estupinan/Pedro

how many points do your expect your bench to score?

BB you think they can score more than 15 points

What's the transfer that cost you 4 points?
I wouldn't bench boost now. Use it in a dgw.

he is 31 now and they did sell Fabinho

i imagine liverpool are still annoyed by how little they got for Mane so could end up cashing in if a big offer is made

Not being funny, but there's a stark difference in a 20+ goal a season winger and a DM whose legs have gone.

agreed but you could make the case selling torres, sterling, suarez, coutinho all at the right time earnt them their first PL title as it allowed them to continually reinvest

salah's obviously great but on the continent you'll be able to find wingers for 40-50mil that'll heavily contribute goals and assists in Klopp's system

All of those players went for absolutely silly money (Coutinho especially) which this deal would have to be for them to consider it - if the likes of Rice and Caicedo are going for north of £100m, they'd want double that at least for Salah.

There are no other wingers putting up the numbers that Salah has done consistently (key word) since he returned to the Prem. The most plausible replacement would be someone like Bowen, and he wouldn't come cheap himself this late in the window.

I downgraded Salah anyway. His price tag was blocking me from upgrades in other areas.

I am planning to do that too (see above). He didn't look on it last week, this maybe the reason why

Dont know whether to do a nini WC or just to Foden this week, and Diaz nest week or upgrade Archer (keep Pedro for now)

A- Richarlison to Mbuemo this week.

    D- any other ideas???

I agree, no CL, 30 year old player who looks like he's about to lose some pace, they gave him a huge contract & this fixes that.

I don't disagree but no man can outpace Mother Nature & eventually he's going to hit that wall, if Liverpool can get 100M for him & 300k a week off their books, I bet they go for it.

Easy way to make up for lost CL revenue.

Never mind the fact Brighton would absolutely bend them over, you've just named three players who are best on the left so doubt they'd want a fourth.

I don't know, you tell me, the point is Liverpool have a left footed player on the right & to think a favoured left sided player on 100k+a week can't be coached to play on the right is an odd take.

Mitoma was an example, a random example, not a known target, top of the head thing.

No, the odd take would be breaking the bank on a player to play them on the opposite side of the pitch, expecting them to suddenly develop their weak foot at the age of 26.

If you look at the top top RWs in the world - Rodrygo, Mahrez, Saka, Dembele - there's only really one option there, and he's extremely injury-prone and not a goalscorer.

Again, Mitoma was an off the cuff top of the head quick example of the staure of player they'd likely go for not an actual nailed on replacement or known target, God you're an insufferable Berk.

Yes, many teams have bought players at ridiculous fees and flopped. I can make a long list of others but it is pointless.

Liverpool will not let Salah leave unless they have replacement tied up signed sealed and delivered, it is as simple as that.

I think Salah's skillset is unique. There is not another player Liverpool could bring in to replicate it. Klopp would need to restructure the side yet again.

The only thing I can think of is that both Liverpool and Salah agreed to make him one of the highest payed players in the PL by signing a new contract in order to get a massive fee when the season has ended, then for the team which buys him to cough up the cash for his brand new highest earning contract and then LFC go into the market start of next season and buy the best player available. It is a win win situation for both player and club.

Obviously achieving CL football this season is priority so Salah is not going anywhere now.
