    I think that's what I'm doing; chasing the Luton fixture this season could yield some really nice returns. Don't forget, it's a Top v Bottom fixture at the moment and simplistically speaking there's 5 goals between them if you compare their respective results against Chelsea.

        I took bowen out this week (for a Brighton player), in an absolute ff masterclass. I hate this game.

          It's a horrible game! I benched Gusto and Areola and played Onana and Saliba/Estupinan which cost me about 18pts.

    Areola

    Saka/Salah/Eze/Mbeumo/Rashford
    Haaland/Osula

    Onana/Pedro/Baldock/Beyer

    a)Pedro->Alvarez
    b)Estupinan->Gvardiolc
    c)Salah+Pedro->Foden+Jackson(-4)

    I think Sean Dyche might be following my posts here. Last week I wrote...

    "Only watched highlights but Everton persisting with Keane in defence is baffling. Though he'd make a better CF than Maupay tbf."

    https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2023/08/20/fpl-gameweek-2-sundays-goals-assists-bonus-points-stats/?hc_page=6&hc_sort_by=comment_date#hc_comment_26028675

    And now I read this in the Guardian...

    "This is a large crisis, to use the old line from Blackadder. And just like Blackadder’s response to a crisis, throwing Michael Keane on as an emergency striker in the 90th minute was the Premier League equivalent of putting two pencils up the nose and a pair of underpants on the head. No wonder the club are close to signing the Udinese forward Beto for £26m."

    I reckon today we will know whether Alvarez is the most suitable partner to own up top with Haaland. Right know have Jackson and Alvarez but considering to move to 352. Jackson a nice asset to own but thee mids in his price bracket are better.

              I'm not, I'm making a comment based on your post? I've made mistakes already this season in not being patient with players so I think you're likely to do that here, so I was trying to push you in that direction of giving things more time. Won't do it again

      I avoided Jackson and I'm not overly worried about getting him. Hopefully Alvarez will get starts this season, and as you say, too much value in midfield to only have 4 slots.

      As we witnessed yesterday the loss of McAllister, Caicedo and injury to Enciso having an impact on Brighton. Given difficult fixtures ahead, combined with Europe time to sell Brighton Assets.

          Onana
          Chilwell Udogie Estupiñán
          Rashford Saka Martinelli Foden Eze
          Haaland Jackson
          Turner // Pedro Saliba Kabore

          Shafted this GW as could have had Maddison/Udogie points but ended up with neither!

          Next GW:
          A) Martinelli > Maddison
          B) Martinelli > Mbeumo
          C) Martinelli/Eze > Maddison/Mbeumo (-4)

          I don't like the prospect of no Mbeumo vs. BOU. Know he's been lucky lately, but would hurt. Sod's law Eze does something...

          The Maddison v Sterling debate is interesting.

          Definitely want to move Odegaard to one of them. I think Sterling gets more goals but Maddison is the absolute talisman already at Spurs and will continue to have high xgi.

            Maddison but it’s close, there’s an outside chance Sterling takes penalties too and the way he’s playing at the moment there’s a good chance he draws a fair few in the next set of games.

              Feels very close.

              Maddison was deep at times.

              Ultimately may end up with both in next couple of weeks.

                Maddison's role allows him to drift wherever he wants / needs especially with Udogie and Porro/Royal in the half-spaces, he dropped into near the halfway line on occasions yesterday but was also in a CF position on others when Richarlison drifted a little wide

              Think the pens is a good shout, he wants to be top scorer, looks in form & Poch will trust him, didn’t even think of that.

              Why not get both? Maddison & Sterling could be this years Rashford/Arsenal mids from last year who were underpriced.

            I feel that’s right. Maddison is probably gonna wrack up points all season (especially if TOT get a solid 9), whereas Sterling will get his in bursts when Chelsea have a a good run of fixtures.

            Of course, the opposite could happen: Chelsea could morph into an attacking machine when Nkunku is back, with Chilwell, and if Jackson settles; while Maddison’s creativity is perma-wasted by Spurs’ lack of a striker a la Maddison at Leicester last season.

            I might get Sterling in now and then Maddison in a couple of weeks.

                Sterling doesn't have a great pen record.

                Only scored 4/8 pens.

            Sterling has played one good match against Luton and suddenly he is the new flavour. Sterling is not that good, Luton is terrible.

                No, he didn't do much in his second game imo. The reason people went for him was Luton in GW3. It payed off, but I'm not sure if Sterling is a good pick based on this. He could be fire, but could also be old good Sterling we've seen the last seasons. I would wait and see for now.

                  He played well against West Ham & it’s since come out that he’s spoken to the manager about how Chelsea had him playing (with his back to goal) & that’s been binned so the Sterling of old who ran at defenders causing havoc could return.

                  I thought Mudryk would be the one to benefit from Poch, seems it’s Sterling.

              As someone pointed out above, Estu is in the team for attacking points.

          Gabriel and Shaw stinking up my bench. Johnstone at risk after the IB with Henderson joining. Still need to get in Maddison and a Chelsea attacker. But even still, a wildcard feels wasteful with the rest of the team full of usual suspects that won't change.

          Been passive and avoided hits so far, but maybe with so many different options at similar price points, aggressive moves will pay off chasing the fixtures. -8 on the cards

                There really is a lack of goal scorers but it was the same case last year as well, still expect them to improve defensively over the course of the season and grind out enough 1-0 wins at home to keep them safe, although 2 of them are already done..

            I think Saka is a better Arsenal pick; and Arsenal don’t seem to be in the type of form that warrants a double up, especially with all the other mid choices.

              Yeah I think this is the issue really. They're all great picks individually but at the moment not quite functioning collectively as well as last season and double mids has quite an opportunity cost at the moment

              I’ve just come off the double up because there’s so much variety in MF now, I don’t want to take up two spots on one team, I’ll bring Jesus in upfront instead.

              Yesterday wasn’t a great result but there were still 19 shots, 11 on target & 5 big chances, xG was 3 something.

            No, and Jesus being back should improve everyone around him including Odegaard. But I'm a bit wary of Arteta's shift in setup this season with including Havertz and stuff like Partey at RB, I do think it's causing them issues. 5 goals in 3 games so far sounds fine, but the first 2 weren't exactly well crafted open play goals, another 2 were penalties

              I don’t have Saka, only Ødegaard. I like to think he can do really well but alot of tinkering in the side and penalties back to Saka so I’m not sure.

                I think they may go back and forth on penalties, I wouldn't want to guess who takes the next one as my theory that Saka wouldn't take one again until it's a more simple one (i.e. when ahead by a few goals) went out the window quickly
