That Gordon price drop hurt even though I knew it was coming sooner or later. Can't sell him though considering his excellent home record and their next two fixtures are at home and winnable.

Seems mad alright. Could be same reason some sold Palmer. Too cheap. They wrongly equate high cost with good returns.

      Maybe:

      But Gordon’s worth more than

Difficult to look past Chris Richards with his likely double coming up. Lascelles might be an option although it’s statistically the worst defence.

You’re just short of money for the better options. I presume they’re not going to be one of your first 3 defenders?

Both have 10 games left. Lascelles will have only one double, unless NEW don't play at all in GW34 (which would be extremely unlikely)

This is the issue for me. I guess if you need a nailed bench player, £3.9m is great for a 2 pointer every now and again. But if you've got a BB there are probably better options for not much more

So? Doesn't this mean everyone is in the mud. If anything I'm all good if there will be loads of injuries. I highly doubt all key players get injured without us having any clue...

+ many of the matches are friendlies so there will be rotation. Don't think there will be many players that would require rest next gameweek especially when wildcarders are going for players playing in big team = best players won't get rested in a close title race

There are so many cons here to WC30 https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2024/03/20/early-thoughts-on-the-fpl-gameweek-30-wildcard/

Even the pros are lukewarm and half hearted and heavily caveated.

I've been playing the last 3-4 years but there seems to be a problem this season. Links from iplt20.com/fantasy are dead. I heard dream11 are no longer running it & I wonder if it's no longer available internationally via my11circle (downloaded their app but you need an Indian phone number to get started) 🙁

Dream11 app has a Manager Mode feature, which is basically an unofficial IPL Fantasy game. It is accessible overseas, afaik.

The rights for the official IPL Fantasy game are with my11circle, which unfortunately requires an Indian number as of now. Funnily enough, they still haven't put out a functioning version of the game yet. Total chaos!

I've been playing pretty casual this season. ML leader has about 50 points more than me. What's the consensus on wildcard? Is it better to use now or are there big advantages to use it later? Plan is to BB on 37 but does that make any difference if I take that in to mind?

Depends how your team looks and fixtures for double. No point WCing this GW if your team is well setup for upcoming GWs.

Ideally you want to WC as close as possible to BB.

      Thoughts on these moves?

      Odegaard + Solanke > Salah + Muniz -4?

My defense is garbage but I don't think there's anyone standout that I want for the next 4 weeks. Gusto? Doubt it's worth a -4...

      Kelleher
      Porro Zabarnyi Gabriel
      Son Saka Foden Palmer
      Haaland Watkins Solanke
      (Areola Odegaard Estupinan Reguilon)

I'm half of a mind to just keep Odegaard considering he may double in 34 and has Luton next week, do a defensive transfer this week and then next week do Son + Watkins > Salah + Darwin for SHU.

I think they look solid to capitalise on the next 4 game weeks, you can always re-asses on Solanke in gw33...

I don't think now is the time for inertia.

The next 4 game weeks are at least as important as any double in gw34 and gw37 plus Chelsea when they schedule one of their extra games.

Please all sell Solanke. Once/if he drops I will be bringing into my current W.C. in place of Isak...

      On a WC (0.3m ITB)

      Areola dubravka
      Gusto porro Robinson(FUL) ait-nouri Bradley
      Salah son palmer bowen lukic
      Watkins Nunez haaland

      A) would you go for any other keeper 4.5mil or less - iv had these two most of season but they don’t rotate well anymore

      B) bradley, lascelles or richards(CRY) for last defender? - bradley more exciting short term but other two will play all games

      C) Watkins to Solanke? This allows lukic to become Bailey

      D) halland to Solanke? This allows lukic to saka until GW 32 when I will get halland for Luton

      Any help would be great

        A) Johnstone at 4.4 instead of Dubravka? Palace have looked decent at the back under Glasner. Seems first choice and guaranteed to double once (likely 34). A couple of tough fixtures before that, which Areola should help you cover. NEW will double in 37 too, but Pope might be back then.

        B) Lascelles. Bradley's mins are at risk once TAA is back (expected in 31) and you'd ideally not want to book-in too many transfers after a WC. Richards is a good shout too, but if you get Johnstone, double CRY def is too much.

        C) It seems there are better striker options at the 4.5m bracket compared to midfielders. So, I would lose Watkins/Nunez for Muniz/Semenyo and upgrade Bowen + Lukic to Saka (yes) + Gordon (maybe). I really don't like most of WHU's remaining games (not to mention their European commitments), while NEW attack has been in good form with some tasty fixtures to come.

        D) Tempting fixtures for Solanke (EVE, CRY, lut) till 32, but Haaland's fixtures till then (ARS, AVL, cry) aren't particularly bad either. Since C) here would allow you to get Saka and considering how laboured some of BOU's recent performances have been, I'm not convinced losing Haaland for Solanke is worth it here.

Thoughts on this WC team please...
Leaves me 0 ITB so wondering to activate asap to avoid any price outs..

        Pickford, Areola
        Gabriel, Gusto, Konsa, Burn, Braithwaite
        Salah, Foden, Palmer, Richarlison, Odegaard
        Solanke, Watkins, Haaland

Attack looks good, as long as you don't mind a weekly benching headache. Prefer someone like Ait-Nouri over Konsa and maybe Lascelles/Richards over Burn, but GTG otherwise. These moves will also leave you some money ITB.

Watkins definitely doesn't make a WC team for me with no doubles and poor fixtures.

Agree on the whole, though Watkins has been notorious for hauling this season whenever it appears public opinion is swaying against him!

Agree with Camzy re Watkins. Think I'd rather punt on Darwin or Isak, or alternatively, buy Muniz and upgrade Richy to Son with the leftover cash.

Odegaard seems an odd pick given that he's well adrift of Saka's points tally but not much cheaper.

        Thanks all.

Given I know I need to WC (as current team is a mess), best to just hit th WC button now and bring these players in?

Yep. If you are convinced about going ahead with WC this gameweek, better to do it as early as possible to exploit the price jumps. However, it does feel like players hardly ever rise twice in an IB window these days!

Cherry pick all you like. I Never said Arsenal won't score, just pointing out your maths is appalling. City have shipped 4 more goals than Arsenal this season, and only 1 more at home than Arsenal away, so not really sure what your point was to OP.

The point was that City don't keep clean-sheets, so betting against Arsenal scoring is a bad idea. I really didn't think that I'd have to explain that I don't really believe City have conceded over 100 goals this season, but here we are.

Well that’s a different point. You implied they concede lots of goals, which they don’t. They concede little more than Arsenal, they just do it spread across more games so less clean sheets. The OP isn’t playing a City defender. He’s not backing against Arsenal not to score, he’s backing against Saka not to return over Foden (and maybe KDB)

I mean it's not really that deep - it's a team that concedes often against a team who've scored something like 25 goals in their last 5 league games. Never mind the fact that Arsenal won the reverse fixture and City are still yet to beat a big 6 team from outside Manchester this season.

                            Fair point, misread.

But your main point is weak, City don't concede often and barely any more than Arsenal. They just have a habit of conceding one goal, which isn't great for defenders for FPL but not much bearing for attackers for FPL.

Goals conceded and scored by City at home is nearly identical to Arsenal away. Not sure how relevant it is that City were beaten away at Arsenal, it was 1-0 and away. May as well bring the 3-1 City win last time the clubs met at same ground then if we're doing that.

Anyway, I don't think we're going to convince each other so lets leave it there. Sure we both have better things to do.

Think about it, these are the most sensible outcomes! It's not just about replacing Klopp's man-management and tactical nous. Liverpool's xCharisma is going to plummet when Kloppo goes! The right man to fill that void, as much as this Spurs fan hates to say it, is Big Ange. And Xabi gets a bigger budget at Spurs than at Leverkusen and a chance to complete one of the hardest challenges in club football - win a trophy at the Lane!!

As with Kloppo, the reporter himself will go out of the way to clarify that the manager wasn't actually fat-shaming him and that it was nothing but a friendly jibe! Charisma is all that matters at the end of the day!
