FPL Question Time: Consult our panel ahead of 2018/19 season

Fantasy Football Scout are giving you the opportunity to ask questions of our esteemed panel of FPL personalities ahead of the 2018/19 season.

If you are stuck on a particular issue and want some external input then this is your chance to get the feedback you need.

We’ve assembled a panel of four this week and will be bringing you a different set for each Gameweek over the course of the season.

James Egersdorff – You can’t get much more experienced than this man when it comes to FPL. After yet another season inside the top 5,000 managers in 2017/18, James now sits top of the Fantasy Football Scout ‘Hall of Fame’.

            Keen on Richarlison from Everton. Don't want to double up on them attacking assets. So Tosun isn't for me, at least atm.

      I like it very much, but then again it's very similar to my own team so I'm far from objective.

      On the 9,5 mid slot I've put Mane for the time beeing. Lots of players that can slot in there nicely. 7,0 forward slot is occupied by Arnie, and he will probably stay despite bad fixtures.

      With my team, so similar to yours, the main concern is the Rich+Jota combo in midfield.

        If Richarlison's finishing is improved, he should deliver with that not very tough games (at least on paper).

        Read Jota had an incredible season... Plays OOP from time to time. A great pick at that price bracket imho.

          I think Richarlison is massively underpriced; if he was at Everton at the start of the season, he would have been atleast 7.5m.

          Expecting great returns from him this season, and given his dire finishing; he can only improve from hereon.

              What is he right now? Just 21 I think. And he was great for the first half of last season despite his horrendous finishing. I think if he starts converting even half of those chances, he's gonna end up anywhere between 150-180 points this season which is fantastic considering he's priced at just 6.5m.

      Looks great - would perhaps free up 0.5 from one of the keepers or Cairney and improve a 4.0 defender from the off

          I think they are 4.0 for a reason and they come with a risk so having two and Mendy is a bit too much for me from the start.

      5-3-2 for me. So much better value in defence. Same in the Sky game: non entities at £8m in midfield but decent starters in defense.

                        I have a rotating 4.5 pair that I'm constantly tinkering with. Not sure I want that because the keeper rotation never works out well - most of the times.

                I tried a number of drafts without him. But with uncertainty around other premium options and a plethora of stars coming late due to the WC, think there's no real captaincy option besides Salah. Plus his ownership, one haul and you'll be left chasing for the rest of the season.

      In both drafts I feel your bench is too weak. If Pedro or Shaw are dropped and your City assets rotated, you'll find yourself short.

        First 8 matches are tempting for me. Meyer is also 6.0 and he could be worth a punt:

        Fulham (A)
        Liverpool (H)
        Watford (A)
        Southampton (H)
        Huddersfield (A)
        Newcastle (H)
        Bournemouth (A)
        Wolves (H)

        Can't discard Mili at 6.5m either. Palace and Newcastle assets swap nicely when favourable fixtures for both flip at GW9 - Swap to Kenedy and Perez come to mind, especially if also having Zaha and he stays.

    Doubt you'll get a nailed on keeper for 4 mil. If you find one it will only be for one or two games. Stekelenburg might play the first match. Although I did see Pickford was on the bench for their last friendly

    I did get a nice squad with it,but then its more likely for midfield bandwagons to emerge further.

    Out of your 3 midfield spots, One will be taken by Salah...So that leaves you with 2 more

    With plethora of 6.5 and Mkhitaryan too..it wouldn't be the ideal one to go with

      Experts tell putting value in your midfield is essential. So Salah, a rotated Miki and a 6.5 seems pretty weak to me.

      I was going to play 4-4-2/4-3-3 but fall of Cedric, Everton and Burnley defenders means I have to switch back to 3 defenders

      I really like that one. I would just not get Kane atm, and strenghten the defence a little. Keep in mind that Hazard and De Bruyne are likely not to feature first gameweek. Zabaleta probably on the bench as well.

    Every year my 5th mid has always been 4.5m, this season at the moment I've got both Hughes & Cairney as my 4th and 5th mid rotating. Do u think I should downgrade one of them as my head is saying its a transfer waiting to happen

      You can always change Auba to a City forward if one becomes clear. They're saying Daniels won't last so I went Begovic in goal, better fixtures than Flappyhandski. Will Utd score more than 2 under Moaninho?
