Win a year’s membership by joining our FPL mini-league and raise money for the NHS

We have launched a new Fantasy Premier League classic mini-league to mark the resumption of the 2019/20 season, with scoring starting from Gameweek 30+.

Whether you’re currently ranked first in the world or closer to the seven-million mark, everyone is in with a chance of winning as all entrants start from zero.

Head to the FPL site via this link and use the code ‘i3lxye’ to sign up (full details are towards the bottom of this piece).

There’s not only pride at stake in this mini-league but the carrot of free annual memberships to the managers who finish in the top five places.

Don’t worry if you’re already subscribed for 2020/21 – we’ll refund your payment if your finish qualifies you for this prize.

Our new end-of-season mini-league is called the ‘The FFScout Charity Shield‘ and we’re also using this opportunity to try and raise money for the NHS.

We usually offer Amazon vouchers to those finishing in the podium places of our Fantasy Football Scout and Fantasy Football Scout Members leagues, and that remains the case in this stop-start season.

For ‘The FFScout Charity Shield’, we at Fantasy Football Scout are pledging the cash equivalent – £300 – to NHS Charities Together.

The selfless work that our National Health Service key workers carry out on a daily basis has been brought into sharp focus over the last three months.

We’re honoured to be donating money to such a worthwhile cause and we’re inviting you to do the same via our JustGiving page.

We should stress that a donation is not mandatory and anyone can enter ‘The FFScout Charity Shield’ whether they are able to make a financial contribution or not; we fully appreciate that these are tough, unprecedented times and some of you will perhaps not be in a position to do so.

If you are able to spare a bob or two, however, then you can do so by clicking on the below link.

Many thanks to anyone who donates to the fund and good luck for the rest of the season.

Thoughts on playing bench boost with no WC?

Might end up having too much value on my bench next week...

Raz (C) is fair enough but I think I'd still at least own KDB for protection. Won't make up any ground if he bangs.

          Sacrifice Rashford for the money...

List of players who are out of contract after this season (and might be a bigger risk in the run-in):

    Willian (CHE)
    Fraser (BOU)
    Vertonghen (TOT)
    D. Silva (MCI)
    Luiz (ARS)
    Lallana (LIV)
    Pedro (CHE)
    Clyne (LIV)
    Cedric (SOU)
    Lundstram (SHU)
    Tanganga (TOT)
    Mendy (LEI)
    Ibe (BOU)

Source: Transfermarkt (looked up players soon out of contract with value above £4.7m)

Two appealing DGW players are out of contract (as is). Will this lessen your interest in David Luiz and, especially, John Lundstram?

Does the contract situation in CHE and TOT give you more reason to pick their other players in those positions (wingers from CHE and centre backs from TOT) as their first team place looks more secure?

I think Lundstram has a 12mth extension clause. Wilder said he intended to trigger it.

        You are so right.

But the choice of words in this article suggests that Lundstram is not very interested in a new contract - which prompts SHU to trigger the extension. Perhaps against Lundstram's own wishes.

        https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/john-lundstram-john-egan-contract-18282741

In any case, he is still soon out of contract (even if it is next year), and they have signed his replacement in Sander Berge.

For me, even Egan and Basham looks like better options atm =)

Very similar to what is becoming the template. I'd rather have Henderson as keeper and replace one of the Sheffield defenders.

Some help here folks, I've been busy looking at multiple options for a BB team and I can't find anything to settle on. I simply don't like loading up on Villa, Arsenal and Sheffield United players in the hope that they will at least play over both games. It essentially forces me into a w/c or free hit the week after.

For wildcard owners, is it a good strategy to consider playing a FH this week and reverting to a decent pre-shutdown team, allowing more time to take stock and use team value wisely during a future w/c. Or is does the points potential from the double gameweek make a BB a more sensible option?

    1. The_Fish
      • 5 Years
      3 years, 9 months ago

It depends how you play. I'm going all in on the double I think.

12 DGW players and then a WC to follow in the next couple of weeks. I'm happy to keep Grealish, Auba, etc in the team for a while.

    2. The Polymath

Make life easy for yourself and don't overthink, that's what I've done. If you have your WC and FH, the overwhelming advice from all FPL quarters is:
      Unlimited Transfers and BB GW30+
      WC GW31+
      FH GW38+

      1. Hotdogs for Tea
        • 8 Years

team value will be hit hard before the WC if you use unlimited transfers this week.

        GW30+ FH
GW31+ WC to set your team up to get a decent playing bench

Then BB any game when the stars are aligned and your bench has some easy fixtures, intact plan for this for GW32+ with a bench from Watford, Palace, Soton, Burnley, Newcastle or even Arsenal 🙂

There is a degree of heard mentality I think. The choice of BB in 30+ and WC in 31+ makes sense if you expect your WC team to be quite different to your current team.
But if not, then you are using two chips to get maybe 15 to 20 extra points, which seems a waste.
