Recapping the best Wolves players ahead of FPL restart

Wolves are offering a healthy number of viable assets for Fantasy Premier League managers, regardless of their chip strategy.

The next few weeks mean that their players could help out those Free Hitting or Bench Boosting in Double Gameweek 30+ or planning for the long-term.

We are currently recapping which players went into the coronavirus (COVID-19) suspension in the best form, using each club’s last six matches for the analysis.

We have also been assessing the impact of recently appointed new managers in the Premier League, so this series covers the other 15 sides, concluding with Wolves.

As we are sure you understand, a lot has changed since the climax of Gameweek 29, with Premier League players unable to fully train with their team-mates for nearly three months.

However, it should still serve to know who was performing best before the break.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those signed up to a valid package can access it in full.

Thoughts on how Fernandes will be affected by Pogba being back? I'm not sure if I should hold or fold. Bought at 8.2m so a bit of a dilemma for me.

      Expecting Nketiah to start both?

      1. Doolittle
        • 11 Years

No idea about Pogba's impact to be honest, but I bought Fernandes at 8.2 like you so am holding. Not 100% on Nketiah, but he's so cheap!

I would honestly bin Targett. Sure hes got two fixtures, but they will concede loads. Really just banking on an assist off a corner or something. As a CFC fan I an pessimistic over our players, so the Mount pick is meh for me. Barnes better value there.

Bit of a contradiction this. If Aston Villa are going to concede loads then half of those loads are going to be to Chelsea, but if Chelsea can't be relied on to score like you say then maybe Targett's chances of one clean sheet out of two are better than you make out no?

        1. Lav
          • 7 Years

Where did I say Chelsea cannot be relied on to score? I am just pessimistic on Mount as an asset, have been all season. Would be more comfortable with Tammy or Pulisic I think.

You said you were pessimistic about Chelsea players. If you didn't men that and just meant you didn't like Mount then that would have been a more helpful response.

            1. Lav
              • 7 Years

Im just a pessimistic fan, so I have my biases, hence I said that. Still from an fpl perspective that is what I would say. Does not mean we wouldnt score.

Fair enough, my only point was that it might have been more helpful to just say I don't think Mount is a good option, rather than the way you put it which might have dissuaded him from switching to a perhaps better Chelsea option, Pulisic, Willian etc.

As it happens though I would also get rid of Targett and tend to agree on Mount. Mainly because there's still no guarantee he starts both matches or plays in his best position when he does.

Targett is just mainly in there because he's 4.4. I could go with Lascelles, but I feel like I may as well punt on a DGW player.

Mount is by no means set in my team; I've only just put him in before posting this (was McGinn before). Would much prefer Tammy, but means losing Auba.

yep Targett is a decent pick imo. 4.4m, 2 home games, leaky defence yes but he has attacking threat.

I try to include him in my BB team. I just think if minutes we're talking about, only Ederson is the safest pick among the city players. As for the Sane's threat do you think Pep would pick someone who even haven't played once before the league postponed? Well he might be, but I hope Mahrez will still get a nice amount of minutes. He played really well when given a chance

Why is Doherty so heavily picked over Bellerin for example?

    1. Lav
      • 7 Years
      3 years, 9 months ago

Because Arsenal have an awful defense, and Bellerin is not a guarantee to get attacking returns. Meanwhile Doherty has proven himself as a threat. Do not underestimate SGW players.

      1. smix
        • 8 Years

Arsenal defence is not the worst pick. They have kept a few clean sheets after Arteta taking over. Man City defence was shaky enough albeit without Laporte & Brighton are not prolific

        1. Lav
          • 7 Years
          3 years, 9 months ago

They will concede against City no doubt, and it could get ugly. Dont underestimate Brighton under Potter, known to attack. Simple put, Doherty over Bellerin really is not crazy for many reasons

Brighton under Potter attack but don't really score goals.

Never said Doherty over Bellerin was crazy, just think he's overpicked. I'm trying to fit in both though.

BB. WC in roughly 2-3 GWs. FH last GW.

    Dubravka McCarthy

    Mane KDB Grealish Barnes Cantwell
    Aguero Rashford Jimenez

      1. Lav
        • 7 Years
        3 years, 9 months ago

I believe so. I see no value in Villa assets besides Grealish. Arsenal I have avoided all season and its been great. Maybe would like Auba for cover, but cannot accommodate him. Triple Sheffield defense is to much for me, and I have 0 ITB with this side so cant fit Fleck. Another City asset would be nice, but again tough.

You happy that Mane will score more pts in 90 than Sterling/Mahrez will score in potentially 180 mins? I understand you are trying to set your team up for GW 31+ without using WC

          1. Lav
            • 7 Years

I also have £1m value in Mane, so taking that into consideration too. That is why TAA & Jimenez are still in the side too. Tough decision for sure, but I think Mane will still get points. I do miss out on a third City which pains me more than Auba.

Yes I would also keep Mane if I had so much value tied up in him. I’m a bit surprised that more people ain’t looking at UT / BB30+ / WC32 or 33. I just think this option could lead to a better WC deployment with 3-4 wks visibility on played form.
I’ve also gone without Auba due to fixtures - which gives me good cash in other areas.
Happy for you to critique my side if you’d like.

Sure thing mate. Can make it a main post if you like. I agree unsure why many are so adamant on getting DGW players, overlooking some good SGW players, and WCing so soon. The longer you hold the WC in this case the better. Get to assess form & lineups.

No BB left. Gonna go with a good 11, prob 6 DGW, 2x 3.9 fodders, cheap 5th mid and 4th back with a look ahead to next few GW and TC Aguero. WC about GW33/34. See how things are for FH.

      1. Lav
        • 7 Years

Great plan. Im just playing BB because I want all the points I can get first week back, while also planning my side a couple GWs ahead to hold on to the valuable WC. 5-6 DGW the sweet spot. And I cannot wait to have a fodder gk and defender to invest funds elsewhere.

First time looking at fantasy in awhile. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated:

    Current side (no changes) -

    Ryan (Button)
    VVD Robbo O'Connell (Tanganga Aurier)

    Jimmy Auba (Greenwood)

What should I do? Don't really understand the chip situation with the 30+ WC

    Think I'm pretty much set on BB 30, FH31 and WC 33 / 34

How's she looking for the BB

    Leno, McCarthy
    Doherty, Egan, Stevens, PVA, Boly

Cobbled this together really quickly. Way too many risks as I am going BB this week?
    Suggestions appreciated With .3 ITB.

    Henderson Reina

    Alonso Doherty Luiz TAA Lundstram

    KDB Mahrez Grealish McGinn Fleck

    Kun Auba Jota

I count about 5 decent rotation risks and that probably is too much.

Thanks I have left this way too late to give it any proper thought.thanks for the advice I will consider it for sure. At least I have not done any of these unlimited transfers yet -its just a draft.
I just assumed than Reina would start thanks for that.

I like it. Think you have good balance. WC 31+?
I’ve not opted for Auba or McGinn but that’s only personal preference

Don’t know if I will even stick with this strategy for this week never mind what I do in the weeks that follow 🙂
Right now I have way too many risks for BB this week.

    My chip strategy is UT / BB 30+ / WC 33+ / FH 38+

Trying to maximize DGW while keeping a keen eye on GW31-32

    Any thoughts on my team?

    Leno / Henderson

    Robertson / Maguire / Doherty / Lundy / Target

    KDB / Mahrez / Fernandez / Grealish / Saka

    Aguero / Rashford / Nketiah

    0.7 ITB

    Thanks in advance

I have value in Henderson and Robertson

Would swap Lund for Baldock/Stevens, both of whom are for sure nailed and get returns. I am not entirely sold on Targett. Also think one of Saka/Nketiah should be someone else. Looks solid otherwise.

Thanks for feedback. I’m going off a gut feeling with Lundstrom. I realize he’s not nailed, I just think with 5 subs and quick game turn around, he will get more pitch time than expected.

I was already tempted with Lund, 5 subs makes him extremely tempting.

I think yes but only on the basic that they all potentially playing twice.

BANG finally found something I'm happy with, TV of 109.7m put to good use, BB then WC next GW:

    Henderson Reina
    TAA Doherty Bellerin Baldock Stephens
    KDB Mahrez Grealish Mount Cantwell
    Aguero Aubameyang Jimenez

0.8m bank. Cantwell can be upgraded to El-Ghazi/McGinn.

TAA was bought for 7.1m and Jimenez for 7.6m so retaining them is important. I have sold Fernandes and will take a 0.2m loss if I bring him back next GW, can live with that.

    Any thoughts?

downgrade bellerin baldock stevens to create some funds, plus 0.8 should let you do mahrez to sterling ???

Can get Leno, Lundstram, Targett and Barnes instead of Reina, Bellerin, Stevens and Cantwell.

I'm pretty keen on Mahrez. It's not exactly an easy upgrade to Stirling though, still need to find 2.4m on top of the 0.8m banked.

    Reina?

Hard to say as Reina was woeful in their last game and Nyland has been really impressive whenever he’s played (league cup for example). I’d probably still lean towards Reina

likely... but Nyland is pushing him apparently

this is the trouble right now, so many unknowns which makes BB risky

    Guys,

Do we think Tammy starts ?

    Cheers!

Thinking of going with Option B here.
FH this GW. WC + BB later.
    What do we think?

Current team- GW 31+ fixtures in brackets.
    Pope (WAT).
TAA (CRY), Maguire (SHU), Saiss (BOU).
KDB (che), Fernandes (SHU), Salah (CRY), Barnes (BHA).
Auba (sou), Jota (BOU), DCL (nor).
    Stek, Stephens, Holgate, Dendoncker.
    3.2m ITB.
    WC, FH, BB left.

Option A- BB this week with unlimited transfers.
Squad will be spread out and change the majority of my squad.
Most people are going with this strategy it seems.

Option B- FH this GW. Keep my current team for next GW.
Good fixtures for most of my current team next GW and plenty of players I am happy to keep atm.
    FH team something like-
    Hendo.
    Lundstram, Stevens, Bellerin, Alonso.
    Sterling, KDB, Grealish, Mount.
    Auba, Aguero,
    Subs. Samatta, Cantwell, fodder.

Does FH seem like a waste with only 8 DGW players?

Well it doesn't look like we will get too many other opportunities.

For me it's 8 players but those are quality players.
Triple City attack + Triple Sheff defence + Grealish/Bellerin.

Also can keep current team for next GW with almost all having plum ties too.
