Salah returns to Klopp’s starting XI and carries captaincy hopes of millions

The penultimate fixture of Gameweek 15 sees Liverpool defend their 66-match unbeaten league run at home against a West Bromwich Albion side led by the last manager to taste success at Anfield.

Sam Allardyce, whose Crystal Palace side were victorious on Merseyside in April 2017, takes charge of the Baggies for the second time today.

Kick-off is at 16:30 GMT.

The headline team news sees the most-captained player of Gameweek 15, Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) return to the Liverpool starting line-up after his benching last weekend.

The Egyptian was transferred in by over 500,000 Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of Saturday’s deadline, swelling his ownership figure to over 45%.

Around 2.4 million FPL bosses handed him the armband for this fixture, with just over 100,000 of us using their Triple Captain chip on FPL’s most expensive asset.

Curtis Jones (£4.4m) is also recalled to the Reds’ team, with the benched Takumi Minamino (£6.0m) and the absent Naby Keita (£5.2m) making way.

Keita misses out with a “fitness issue”.

Allardyce’s only change from the 3-0 home defeat by Aston Villa is an enforced one.

Callum Robinson (£5.4m) returns in place of Jake Livermore (£4.7m), who is suspended.

Matheus Pereira (£5.6m) is available again after serving his own three-match ban and is among the substitutes.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Fabinho, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Robertson, Jones, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Salah, Firmino, Mane.

West Brom XI: Johnstone, Furlong, Gibbs, Ajayi, Robinson, Phillips, Diangana, Gallagher, Sawyers, O’Shea, Grant.

59 with Son to play... I think I can thank Souček very much for saving my GW one way or another. He's nearly back to restart form. Confidence is a wonderful drug.

He scored 3 in 7 GWs during restart, and has 3 in the last 5 currently. 13th overall scoring midfielder after today, and likely top 5 for value considering cost.

Thanks for your contribution. The point is that I would’ve been better of if I did the move. Someone on here adviced me not to do it. I chose to follow the advice, and missed the points. Or am I missing something here? Enlish is not my native language.

Totally agree. I usually try to hand out advice myself, and never feel bad if it fails. Just funny that Matip got an assist early on, when I was really close to bring him in.

No, it’s a good rule of thumb when the transfer is for one week only, but not if it’s long term

Taking a one week hit is better than a long term hit? Taking out an injured or out of form player for someone with good fixtures and form has to be much smarter than punting for a week. Most times it will pay off in the long run, can’t say that about a one week hit.

Okay. I give up. I just give up! There's no logic to this game whatsoever. It doesn't matter what I do r how long I do it I get punished for every transfer I make or don't make. Held on to Mane for so long. When he was benched vs Brighton and Salah started and got 6 pts. When I capped him vs Wolves and he blanked and Salah cappers got 28 pts (heart and rank ripped to shreds). When he blanked v Tottenham and Salah scored. When he started v Crystal Palace and Salah got benched and I thought, "Okay, at least through all the pain and suffering ends today, no way Salah outscores Mane when he has a goal and assist." Of course, Mane get's subbed 55th minute and I helplessly watch as Salah scores 2 goals and assist for fun. I gave up and now traded him for Salah and no he decides he can score. And I'm laughing because Serling to KDB has been the exact same story. This game is pure luck. And I've got the worst.
