Dugout Discussion – Sunday – Part Two

The second instalment to Sunday’s slice of Premier League action brings Gameweek 3 to a close with matches at Anfield and Wembley Stadium.

The attention of Fantasy managers will be pulled in different directions, with key assets on show in both contests.

After the “failings” of Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Sergio Aguero on Saturday, we now look to see if Harry Kane can step up.

Kane is backed 741,000+ (16.1%) ahead of the “home” encounter with Burnley as he bids to end a run of two single point returns and score his first competitive career goal in August.

Should he succeed, it would doubtless have a major impact on rankings and transfer activity over the international break.

Equally, events at Anfield could have a major effect on our thinking leading up to Gameweek 4.

Liverpool boast an array of attacking talent, including the electric Sadio Mane, who lines up in tandem with the in-form Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.

But Arsenal have their own riches on show, with all eyes on the performance of Alexis Sanchez.

He returns to the Gunners’ line-up as Alexandre Lacazette suprisingly drops to the bench as Danny Welbeck leads the attack in a Arsenal’s 3-4-2-1.

Like Kane, should Sanchez convince and return points this afternoon, the impact on the FPL market would be substantial.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

He's right though. Do Ox, Walcott, Welbeck think they are good enough to play for City, Chelsea, Utd etc. They are deluded if they believe that.

Can anyone tell me why English people always talk up Wellbeck? There seems to be a positive bias surrounding him. I think he is awful and has been for a very long time and don't understand why Wenger would keep him at the club. Nice guy and all, but a truly terrible striker.

It's also the Arseblog podcast, Arsenal fans in general while I don't see any pundits slating him while he does nothing.

Have never talked up Welbeck. A striker who barely scores. Another English player who would rather sit on the bench at Utd then develop themselves playing games at a lower club.

It depends on which English people you ask. City fans are well aware of his clumsiness.

I didn't mean to generalize and was struggling to find the right words. It's just that I never see his name coming up when talking about players not good enough for the club while there seems to be an air of bias around him that I just cannot understand.

Glad to read some of you actually think he's terrible.

All of this could've been prevented from Arsenal's point of view if Wenger just played his best team.

Arsenal looks sluggish, disproportionate, and lost. Defense is nonexistent and the attack looks weak.

At least Moyes would sort out your defensive organisation. Pulis and Allardyce would do a better job. No point having flair if you keep conceding.

Might genuinely be time to assess if it's worth ditching Kane or not.

Thing is don't know who I'd replace him with owning Lukaku and Firmino. Morata could be a decent differential.
