FPL 2021/22 player price guide: Watford

Many of Watford’s 2021/22 players were members of the squad relegated from the Premier League a year ago. The majority of those are offered again in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) at exactly the same starting prices as for that campaign, including the leading scorer in their Championship promotion season, midfielder Ismaïla Sarr (£6.0m).

Two old FPL favourites have dropped in price on their return. Saves magnet Ben Foster has fallen from £5.0m to £4.0m as he looks unlikely to regain the starting jersey from Austrian international Daniel Bachmann (£4.5m) who replaced him for the second half of last season after Foster couldn’t play through a finger injury.

Veteran warhorse Troy Deeney (£5.5m) is also £1.0m cheaper and drops into the bargain striker bracket as he vies for game time with no fewer than nine players at the club classified by FPL as forwards.

One of those is Josh King who himself has dropped £1.0m from the price FPL assigned him when he arrived on loan at Everton last winter where he occasionally featured alongside Richarlison (£7.5m) whose heir apparent at Vicarage Road, João Pedro, is yet another £5.5m option for the Hornets up front.

In midfield, Will Hughes (£5.0m) has dropped £0.5m from his 2019 price while two team-mates have risen by the same amount. Nathaniel Chalobah (£5.0m) made 41 appearances last term, though 18 were from the bench, while Ken Sema (£5.5M) contributed 6 goals and 6 assists towards promotion success.
