FPL 2021/22 player price guide: Wolverhampton Wanderers

If you believe strongly in Wolverhampton Wanderers and what they might achieve under new manager Bruno Lage then now is a great time to go shopping for their players in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) as the game is offering them at summer sale prices.

Eight of the squad are available for less than they were after an impressive 2019/20 campaign, nine if you include the position of first-team goalkeeper where new signing José Sá will set you back only £5.0m in contrast to the £5.5m needed to recruit Rui Patricio last time around.

Whirlwind midfielder Adama Traoré, whose goals and assists both halved last season compared to the one before, has been reduced to £6.0m, but the deepest discounts of £1.0m have been applied to two players fighting to return from serious injuries.

It was wonderful to see talismanic striker Raúl Jiménez (£7.5m), a reliable performer for both his club and his FPL devotees, taking the field against Crewe Alexandra in mid-July, his first 30 minutes in action since suffering a fractured skull in November.

Left back Jonny (£4.5m) had only returned from one ACL injury in early February, and was helping to restore some order to a defence that had struggled without him, when he suffered a new ACL injury in the same knee in training. Sadly, it is unlikely he’ll be back on the pitch again until well into the new season.

In the absence of Jiménez the Molineux side had to put more weight than expected on the shoulders of young attackers Pedro Neto (£6.5m) and Fabio Silva (£6.0m), but both made enough of a mark to attract £1.0m price rises. Defender Max Kilman also left a good impression as he deputised for more experienced colleagues and he has risen in price to £4.5m, joining several of those more established choices, such as club captain Conor Coady, as they drop down a notch to the same value.
