Memberships Now Available

Fantasy Football Scout memberships for 2017/18 are now available for the pre-season price of just £12.50.

Last season’s memberships expired on June 1 but you can now renew to get access to the members area.

Existing registered users can upgrade via this link. New users, who are yet to get a registered account, can sign up via this link.

Payments can be made through Paypal or via Stripe using debit or credit cards.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

We’re hugely grateful for the support shown by our members each season and, having invested in a redesign of the main site last year, we’re now fully focused on building on the members offering.

Mat – our new dedicated developer – is currently working on an array of fixes and new features, with the first update set to go live in the next 48-hours. You can find details of the work in progress in our previous “Development Squad” post – the first of many to come over the summer and the season ahead.

You can also see our immediate task list and progress on existing tasks right here.

That task board demonstrates our intent to be transparent on our future plans and work with you to ensure that the member’s area can become even more valuable to you as Fantasy managers.

If you’ve any feedback or suggestions of content that you’d like to see added to the members offering, then please feel free to drop me a line at support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Do you still buy newspapers? If so, which ones?

And do you subscribe/pay for any news websites?

Not sure I've bought a newspaper in 15 years and certainly don't pay for stuff on line.....

I don't particularly trust the BBC.

Obviously I'm not going to call them out on the football results, but I mean with their 'real' news, since they're publicly funded, and therefore pretty left-wing.

I support the guardian because I agree with their ethics and fluffy stuff like that, so I pay them a £5iva a month and am happy doing so

I buy Private Eye and maybe the New Statesman whenever I am travelling somewhere (train; plane - not on the tube lol).

I also pay for FFS.. sort of a news site!!

The only ones I buy are Private Eye and the Economist.

Used to love th Independent 10 years ago but it's gone to the dogs now.

Online I try to read from as many sources as I can but mainly the Guardian and BBC. Also like to lurk on the Daily Mail site to see what rubbish their feeding people. Five thirty-eight is a good site for US politics too.

Oh man it's totally gone to the dogs hasn't it? It used to be my 3rd news site but yeah, now it's just clickbait (cf i100!)

Always good to ward against the echo chamber - abhorrent as they are, reading the Sun + Fail every now and again is just such a lesson in how so much of the country is subject to and internalising propaganda, not news. I used to lol about it, now it just makes me cry.

I mostly seem to read the Guardian website these days; the BBC seems to have gone a bit bland. Its a shame that the Telegraph has put up a paywall as it often had some good articles and helped give a bit of right-wing balance to the Guardian's stuff.

The independent used to be great in print, but its website is basically one long story about how Donald Trump and the Tories are going to eat YOUR baby!

Five thirty eight is surprisingly fascinating, and probably the best source for unbiased commentary on Trump.

Fixtures come out in 12 or 13 days or something. Then you sit by the edge of your computer refreshing FPL until it's over to get a meaningless yet low FPL ID. Then prices get released. Then you post a lot of RMTs until everyone calls everyone else's post template, but you realize yours is not... then cave to the template... which doesn't work... and you're on WC in week 2 or 3 again. Cool?

They're just not feasible. It appears wages appear to be an issue as we don't want to pay players what they want, VVD wants to join us but we decided to renege on our wage offer in favour of more performance related bonuses and Mendy also wanted to join us but we offered much less than anyone else in terms of wages. It begs the question why be willing to pay the transfer fee if you want to then lowball on wages?

If that's true, then FSG need to go. We will never compete at the top level by offering lower wages to the top talent.

            • 11 Years
            7 years, 3 days ago

I can see why, the wage demands were pretty high (180k for VVD is too much in my opinion) and we offered something like 80k to Mendy (whatever he did want is a fair bit for such a young guy). Unfortunately that's the way it is now, if you don't pay you don't compete.

It's true that we agreed a deal then tried to low ball his wages. That's embarrassing.

It makes no sense when you consider we'll end up signing a lesser player and still end up paying him something he's not worth, we'll then end up trying to get rid in a season or two anyway.

Liverpool have the third highest wage bill in the league, I'd imagine the real reason behind these players not joining is the gossip columns not having a 100% hit rate.

              • 11 Years

Its the third highest not because we pay individuals large amounts but because our squad is far too big with a lot of bang average players on wages at or approaching 100k.

Too many average players. The likes of Markovic and Flanagan out on loan aren't on high wages. One of Liverpool's main priorities this summer is to beef up the squad.

I'm not sure if a fee was agreed or not but if the player wants to leave it would really only be a matter of time. I heard it from someone who has some sort of link with the club (I don't know what sort of link exactly, for obvious reasons he can't say), he posts online from time to time.

I rate him. I rated him when he was at Basel. He is better now. Id love him to join.
Vvd situation is him agreeing wages with us and agreeing to join us. 180k a week but apparently we tried to change that and offer 130k with incentives worth 50k. Him and buthis reps are annoyed he still wants to join us. If it doesnt happen, its prob because we messed around with his proposed wage structure

It's because we leaked the story to the press before Saints wanted to. If we had messed up with VVD personally, he'd be at Chelsea or something. It's quite telling he's told Saints he wants to leave, is training alone, hasn't travelled with their pre season squad etc, all while it's openly clear he wants to join Liverpool.

A bit early but who do you think will be first in your team when the game opens? I'm thinking KDB, City could run rampant.

Thinking KDB myself. And Kane. The rest will depend on prices and fixtures.

Griezmann would be an incredible player to have, hopefully that doesn't happen ever though.

I wonder what the situation up top will be like for Chelsea, Kane looks like a really solid option as usual though.

I'm not so sure, I think he wanted out last summer but one way or another came around. I think if an exorbitant offer comes in from China or something like that he'd be off.

I recall reading that he isn't interested and would've only moved to Atleti.

KDB, Kane, Ederson, and Trippier are in my team right away. Iheanacho if his fixtures are good.

Amazing kicking. Can take set pieces. (Though I know he won't but hey you never know at 4-0 up)

Benfica utilized his kicking a lot this season, he'd launch attacks (since you can't be offside from a goal kick) from goal kicks. Could see City doing the same.

You're going to buy a likely 5.5m goalkeeper for his attacking potential? 😀

I mean I'd pay 5.5 for a midfielder who gets four points for a clean sheet 😉

Sounds like he could be fun to watch but if I want City defence I'd rather pay 0.5 more for real attacking threat and BAPS.

Boring I know but completely depends on fixtures. With no form to gauge gw1 fixtures and flexibility are all that matters

Absolutely, I think you always want to have an eye on fixtures long term, at least for some of your players, at the beginning. I think United will be the most interesting team this season, seeing who'll be really viable if any from their mids and forwards.

If Theresa May can't manage to beat the "unelectable" Corbyn by a distance then why on earth should she be negotiating leaving the EU on our behalf.

      Likewise.

If Corbyn can't manage to beat this shambles of a Tory government with all it's prejudices then why on earth should he be negotiating our leaving of the EU either.

I seriously think these are the two weakest potential leaders to run an election in my lifetime. Poor.

Yep. May is truly an empty vessel, and Corbyn is throwing kitchen sinks full of money at people to get their votes (was it lower train fares yesterday?).

Personally I'd kill to see the Tories out of power, but I don't have a lot of confidence in Corbyn, though I'd love to be proved wrong.

I ask 'cos I've been doing some stats geeking on the opinion polls, and despite a wide spread of results they all pretty much point to the Tories loosing 1.5% a week, Labor gaining 2% a week, and TM being screwed. I think that the absolute best they can hope for is about the same margin of victory as 2015's popular vote with a few seats breaking their way.

You can get some very good value odds on individual seats at the moment BTW. NE Derbyshire (labor majority of 1800) was 9/2 for a labor win the other day.

Pendulum is swinging Labour's direction, but perhaps not swiftly enough for a Labour win.

    Bernardo Silva: £43m
    Ederson Moraes: £35m
    Benjamin Mendy: £40m

That's £118m spent in 6 days for Man City.

    Real record threatened?

They've spent a load of money but not a single signing pulls them away from the rest. It's becoming a theme with the Manchester clubs, spend a lot of money but not pull away from anyone.

Kante (£30m), Wanyama (£11m), Wijnaldum (£25m), Mane (£34m) all proved to have bigger impacts than the big money ones from Manchester clubs.

I'm definitely getting a membership this season. It'll be my first time. It's difficult following all those streaming comments in articles but I'll try to get the best out of my subscription as I look to crack top 50k in my 2nd season in FPL.
