How Sterling’s position change has affected his FPL form

With four goals and three assists over the international break, Raheem Sterling‘s (£11.6m) sky-high Fantasy stock has reached stratospheric levels as we approach Double Gameweek 32.

The Manchester City winger scored a hat-trick in his last Premier League appearance, too, bringing his total number of double-digit hauls in 2018/19 to eight – four of them coming in this calendar year alone.

Sterling registers more Fantasy Premier League points per match on average (7.3) than any other top-flight player this season and it seems likely that there will be few active FPL managers going into Gameweek 32 without his services.

Having started the first four league matches of 2019 on the right wing, Sterling has switched over to the left flank in his last six top-flight appearances.

It was, indeed, from a starting role on the left of a 4-3-3 that Sterling scored his hat-tricks for City and England over the last three weeks.

The imminent return to fitness of Kevin De Bruyne (£9.7m) and Fernandinho (£5.3m) could be a significant development in terms of Sterling’s starting position, as it would allow Bernardo Silva (£7.5m) to return to the right-wing role that Pep Guardiola has largely used the Portuguese midfielder in since Gameweek 25.

That would leave Sterling free to play on the left flank – although with Riyad Mahrez (£8.2m) and Leroy Sane (£9.3m) also champing at the bit for a start, there could be any number of permutations in City’s front three in the upcoming matches against Cardiff City and Fulham.

Nevertheless, Guardiola has clearly favoured Sterling on the left flank since the beginning of February and it is perhaps worth comparing his output on either wing ahead of Double Gameweek 32.

For those on FH right now, who is the biggest differential you're planning for?

It doesn't need to be someone under a certain %, just someone most on FH won't be looking at or going for.

Why have you picked them and what do you expect in terms of returns?

Higuain is a good differential with his low ownership and most people opting for double Chelsea defense.

The first game is the key, scoring and he will start the next one. If not, Giroud nocking on the door with three international goals. I like the pick, might go for him too. 🙂

Nice, I'm looking at Martial as my second United attacker to go with Lindelof.

I might go off the board on my third City player.

And whoever I go for as my third defender will likely be a bit strange, but not sure who yet

Very tempted by Martial over Pogba if the presser is positive. I’m looking at a possible midfield of

      Sterling Hazard Dilva Alli Martial

Another temptation is to play both Zaha and Bat with Kun.

      1) Higuain.. his goal scoring record speaks for itself. People say he is ‘overweight’ and ‘off pace’.. yet her makes fantastic runs into the box to find space. His underlying stats are encouraging and if the Fulham and Hudds fixtures are anything to go by, he will be fruitful.

      2) Sane.. if he plays at least 90 minutes (which is a certainty imo if he isn’t nailed for FFA Cup/CL..) his floor is the City defence ceiling. Big haul incoming.

I've put some serious consideration into him too. Good recent form against big opposition at home. Plus potential of a weakened Watford side.

I think the best Differential is Kane. Not that many are ignoring him, they are all aware of the threat, but cannot afford him.
      I am one of those.
While ppl are ignoring Spurs assets, I am going with Alli as differential. He is almost fresh after his long setback and will be pushing upfront with Kane.. and hopefully can grab some points.

His last presser for England seems he is very motivated too.

Kane! I don't see him in many people's side, most are citing the fixtures as prohibitive. This is a big risk with how much he costs rather than his ownership, I'm banking on most going for Aguero or Kane, not both. I think he could get a goal an Anfield (he got one and missed a pen last year), the stadium opening could really go either way!

Though widely owned in general I think most FH teams won’t have him due to rotation fears. He’s actually the second most used forward (behind Mitrovic) for minutes played and he’s only costing me 6.2m. I fancy him to rack up a goal or two.

He's going nowhere from my FH team. The things going in his favour are, Wolves clearly had a rest agreement with Mexico and they don't have any real alternatives at #9. NES has only benched him on one occasion in the league, away at Newcastle where Costa. Traore and Jote played up top together.

    Hello guys,
I have a choice to make about last 2 positions in my team

    A. Schlupp + Townsend
    B. Dunk + Milivojevic

I'm thinking about waiting for Zaha Injury news. If he's not fit that means Schlupp can play OOP LW & Milivojevic less appealing option. & Vice versa if Zaha plays, Milivojevic is great option & Schlupp maybe a bit risk.

So if Zaha fit, A otherwise B

    You agree ??

        1) Zaha or
        2) Laporte

        X) Son or
        Y) Higuain

Laporte is fresh, easily can play both games, 2 clean sheets, possible attacking returns.

          no faith in zaha

Higuain, better fxtures and can score more potentially
