FPL Question Time – Consult our panel ahead of Gameweek 37

Fantasy managers can now bring their end-of-season dilemmas to another Question Time panel.

With just two Gameweeks left of the 2018/19 season, many are looking to dot the Is and cross the Ts of their campaigns.

Meanwhile, others are hoping to soar up the rankings with one last desperate punt.

To help you with your plans, we’ve assembled three minds to answer your questions…

Who’s on the panel this week?

Ben McNair – One of Australia’s most well-known Fantasy managers with four top 5k finishes in his FPL career.

Holly Shand – Founder of Fantasy Football Community and a regular FPL Show guest. Currently ranked inside the top 5k ahead of Gameweek 37.

Zoumas Bloomers – One of our moderators on the site with two top 10k finishes in the last three seasons and currently ranked 22k ahead of Gameweek 37.

Anyone still got a chip left to play?

    Who would you triple captain?

    Would you make changes?

    Foster / Ryan

    Robertson TAA Laporte Valery Bednarek

    Sterling Mane Son Jota JWP

    Aguero Vardy Jimenez

Difficult. Several good possibles there. I blew mine on Jimenez in the DGW when he did nothing, but against Fulham is tasty. Sterling is overdue a double figure haul. Mane in form but last week was one to TC him, lightning twice etc. Kun also overdue a double figure score.

      Haven’t helped have I.

GW37 DS stats, fixtures and clean sheet odds

Last week with a season high DS of 946 saw Liverpool thrash already relegated Huddersfield at Anfield 5-0. Manchester City (545DS) come in second place as they face Burnley away and then Tottenham (452DS) appear as the 3rd easiest fixture as they face a leaky West Ham at the new White Hart Lane.

Tight for 3rd, but just edging out in front come Liverpool (443DS) ahead of Manchester United (433DS). Finally just sneaking into the picture are Chelsea (377DS) who face Watford at Stamford Bridge

Thanks G-Whizz -- and congrats on climbing the ranks! Was checking out some of the mods/cons teams and looks like you've cracked the Top 5K.

Does Betbrain or anyone do clean sheet odds TWO weeks out? I'm in the market for a cheap third defender to replace Duffy for GW 37 and 38 and it's either Shaw for a hit or a Palace defender (AWB/Dann) for free. ManU probably has 50% odds both weeks for a CS but not sure about Palace's final match. Any advice?

Also, are you tempted to trade one of your Spurs midfielders for Pogba for the Huddersfield/Cardiff games? I have Son, but thinking Pogba to avoid any slip up against my mini-league rival who has Pogba. Nervous that even ManU will pile on the goals against Huddersfield.

          SOU: 47%

You absolutely nailed the TC last week, and you're having a cracking season too, well done! I wasted mine in GW25 but moving on swiftly 😆 not sure which way you prefer, but personally I think you've got a good chance of the hit paying off if you decide to choose the Shaw route. I can't see Palace keeping a clean sheet either this week or next, but then again I couldn't see us beating Spurs last week either lol.

Yes, I am tempted to swap out a Spurs midfielder but it won't be for Pogba as recently he hasn't looked that attacking to me. I'll probably (if going ahead with it) downgrade Eriksen and upgrade Success to bring in Rashford for the Cardiff fixture, but still yet to be convinced that we should be overlooking their recent form over the fixtures. Only Huddersfield and Brighton have had less shots on target than Man United over the past 4 GWs and that's not even looking at shots in the box and outside. If I did so, I reckon it would look pretty grim...

In your situation trying to protect a lead, it's the only sensible move to do and cover your opponent by bringing Pogba in, but I can honestly see Son outscoring him over the next two but neither team is convincing me at the moment!

Will probably leave it until the last minute to make up my mind, still umming and arring as I'm not going to take a hit so will use the Huddersfield fixture as their audition for GW38.

What's your thoughts on Son v Pogba? Can you REALLY see Man United all of sudden firing against a weak opposition in Huddersfield away from Old Trafford? They haven't looked interested to me but then again...

Credit due to Poch for having the season they have had. Nothing achieved yet but to sign no one in 2 windows (evident with their bench tonight) yet they're 3rd in the league and in SF of CL. I wonder how long they can continue to keep the players without spending money

Heard on talksport the other day that Ajax's wage bill is half that of Middlesbrough. Let that sink in for a bit. It's no surprise half of them will leave when you hear things like that.

Neres post in the 2nd half and VDB could have squared a pass in the 1st half after ripping them open.

          Spurs offered nothing.

it has the making of an absolute classic.

I love Barcelona, but i think this Liverpool side deserves some silverware. I don't care who wins, i just want the game to deliver on its promise. Both sides to play the way they are set up to play

quick transitions from back to front. Its what Liverpool do best and i can see Barca getting caught out.

            I'll settle for a 10 - 9 thriller in the first leg.

Son will start. Sat -> Wednesday week is too long to sit out, with the squad they have.

Eriksen not looking his best and could probably do with a rest, but who plays in his place?
