How Scout Membership can help Fantasy managers in 2019/20

Full-season Fantasy Football Scout subscriptions are still available for £17.50 – that’s the equivalent of less than 39p a week.

Over the years we have added to the benefits that our Members enjoy and we will be re-investing back into the site to enhance it further in 2019/20.

The most recent addition was the new Flat-Track Bully tool, which allows Members to conduct research in greater detail.

Using this new feature (pictured below) you can exclude/include certain teams (i.e. the ‘big six’) when scrolling through the various tabs in our Player Stats section.

This will help you identify players who perhaps perform better against weaker opposition and even those who thrive against the top teams like Raúl Jiménez did in 2018/19.

We also recently put a call out for web developers and we have a number of other site improvements in the pipeline that will hopefully help our subscribers even more.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

In 2018/19 we published more Members’ articles than ever before and there will be at least 150 such pieces in the 2019/20 campaign.

We also introduced Members-only comments and Hot Topics to allow for detailed discussions of content behind the pay-wall.

Our Projections and Rate My Team tools (below) have both been tweaked, with RMT’s Professor – aka Chris Atkinson – elaborating on the changes in a recent Hot Topic.

Reigning Fantasy Premier League champion Adam Levy is a paid-up Member of our site and he discussed what tools of ours he finds most useful in a recent interview.

In previous seasons we’ve helped FPL winners Tom Fenley and Simon March, while in 2015/16 we were thrilled to see Ed Masters – the winner of that year’s Members’ League – finish third in the overall rankings.

In 2017/18, Paul Gee went one better. He won our Members’ League and finished second, losing out to champion Yusuf Sheikh by just eight points.

We are hugely grateful to those who show their support by signing up as a Member each season. This continues to enable us to maintain the site, grow the Fantasy Football Scout team and develop more ideas.

Here are just some of the features you can enjoy as a subscriber:

Head-to-Head Comparisons

Compare both teams and players head to head.

Match Analysis

Analysis of every Premier League match (going back to 2011/12!), together with charts which plot average positions and our collection of heatmaps for touches, shots, chances created among other statistics.

Custom Stats Tables

Members can also create custom tables based on the data and share them with other subscribers (an example from last season is shown above).

Perhaps the most famous of these is Joe’s Goals Imminent table, which looks to predict which underperforming assets will find the net next.

Customisable Season Ticker

Sort by fixture difficulty and find out which teams’ matches rotate well using our customisable Season Ticker.

Be sure to check out all the other benefits of signing up as a member here. A full FAQ on our Members’ Area is also available here.

But why pick a player for 9.5m that’s missing for two weeks? You could any number of good, nailed on starters with good fixtures for those first two weeks and then take Son in

Plus due to the 1st half WC you only need to take into account 19 GWs maximum. So that's 17GWs for Son.

You clearly know me too well JD!! 😉 that is an option cheers mate, just feel Fraser is worth the extra cash! Would rather sacrifice one of the defenders if I’m honest....even to a 4.5 if I must....

Or another guess is that you have Perez.
Downgrade to Kante/Jorginho and then have Wilson.

You could even use Greenwood instead if he starts playing.

Personally I’m with you that Fraser is worth keeping along with King.

Buendia is a Norwich player who has 8G 12A last season. He’s my punt particularly looking at that Newcastle fixture. Kelly will only play this GW considering Norwich have Liv(A)

I prefer Moura at 0.5m less, but Siggy very popular and could easily get off to a fast start.

            • 7 Years

Moura is a great option but a transfer down the line. If he had a good Gw2 fixture I’d be all for it.

With Siggy I feel like he’s the best Everton ‘cover’. Their fixture are simply to good to ignore but I don’t think they’ll keep many cleansheets hence no Digne.

    Which combo ?
    A
    Sterling and King-Jota-Deulofeu (2 of 3)

Many answered B to variation posed earlier, but RMT has A about 5 points better.

  14. Twisted Saltergater

Fewer and fewer changes being made. There's some great midfielders around the 7.5m price point, so I keep coming back to having two. Aside from Ozil (can always switch to Fraser if I bottle it), anything you'd tweak?

    Pope - 4m
    TAA - Robertson - Zinchenko - Femenía - 4m
    Sterling - Ozil - Moura - Salah - Jorginho
    Wilson - Deulofeu - Greenwood

Preferred 4.5m defender? I'm liking Femenia for the Brighton fixture, but I could get Diop and bench first game vs Man City, and play Gibson or Rico.

Burnley and palace seem to rotate well from an "ease of fixtures" perspective at the start of the season (if you can truly trust their defences). I have Taylor (who I think has a minor niggle) for 4.5 and Kelly who is a real doubt on starting for 4.0

Coleman if you like Gros > 7m mid. Even Dendonker to a 5m mid might be useful as there are 3 that may be on penalties; Noble, Norwood and potentially Jorginho.

an extra 0.5m gets you a penalty taking midfielder.

Jorginho? We're not sure who is on pens under Lamps yet. Anyway it's like 4 goals a season and probably 1-2 misses in there. And that's without rotating the pen taker so not very keen I'm afraid 🙂

I realise Fraser/Siggy will probably outscore B.Silva, BUT team looks better with two City attackers 😉

If he gets to keep his place in the front three, who knows. He played RW whenever KDB was fit last season I recall.
Sane leaving would be even better, one less winger

Very true. Imagine Bilva plays all the time but may drop deep and then becomes very different prospect for the worse.

He is a bit of a punt, but love having a nailed on City attacker for just 8M. Even if he plays in D.Silvas place (attacking mid) he could be good for that price.

      Looks similar than mine.

If Bilva starts in front 3, he is definitely in my team.

      Difference between us:
      Y: Lloris, Robbo and Perez
      M: 4.5, VvD and Richarlison

Nice, seems great! I had your version (with Siggy instead of Rich for a while). Might still end up with it but Perez is in as I can't afford Vardy. Lloris->4.5 and Bilva->Vardy (with some movements) would make sense though I guess

Yeah, I dont want any Leicester players yet with those fixtures. Not so sure yet am I keeping Sterling (I would captain him anyway first 2 weeks and really want Son in GW3.)

            Sterling > KdB
            4.5 > 6.0
            VvD > Robbo

Thats also in my mind and swaip KdB to Son after GW2. After that still have Bilva from City.

I would definitely start with Sterling mate. Not worried about LEI fixtures as Vardy tends to do better in harder fixtures and LEI seem to score every game, a bit like Wolves and Watford last season

But then problem is how to get Son in.

Thats true, they can easily score against anyone.

Son won't be a must have come gw3. Low ownership and who's to say he starts straight away if Lucas scores 1-2 goals? Getting KDB for just two games seems a bit off as well, he is a long-term pick I believe.

Burnley and palace seem to rotate well from an "ease of fixtures" perspective at the start of the season (if you can truly trust their defences). I have Taylor (who I think has a minor niggle) for 4.5 and Kelly who is a real doubt on starting for 4.0

You'd still be stuck playing a Bournemouth defender/Southampton defender as well as playing King who I don't see as a good option (scored a third of his goals when Wilson was out). Others may disagree but I'd probably rip it apart and try again.

Unai Emery on whether he prefers a back three or back four:
‘Last year we worked with both systems and changed it a lot because the quality of players is better with one system or the other. We have very offensive full-backs and sometimes we need to protect them. We tried to play with four and three. Now I want to be working with both systems because sometimes we can achieve a very big performance with Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac both playing. Three centre backs is the best for that. Playing Nacho in the centre of a back four is not the best position for him, and Sead Kolasinac I want to improve his performance to be strong defensively in a back four because we are going to use this system’.
