Are you seriously stuck for ideas when you have Gabriel starting and no bench depth?

Bit of a negative comment? It's a tough one. Are Pedro/Gabriel going to start? They both could..

That said I think I'd get rid of Gabriel anyway because it looks like long term he won't be nailed and he's going to drop before deadline. Probably to a 4.5 so you have the option to get Alvarez/Wissa in for Pedro if you wanted to ship him another time.

Cheers mate, yes that’s the current thinking. But also tempted to take a risk and keep him for one more gw and reassess with 2 fts next gw. Tomiyasus ban could increase his chances of a start?

Possibly. Just find it easier if people show their thinking so they can actually get a decent answer.

          I do like your answer.

Just saw they already asked who to replace Gabriel earlier, so maybe it will align with that previous advice.

Was tempted to save ft initially and hope pedro starts. Now Gabriel seems to be the main concern. Will he start with tomiyasu out? That’s the main dilemma.

    Who is LESS ROTATION??
    1) Alvarez
    2)Foden

I mean, can anyone really answer? Man City currently have less depth than typical, so probably both fairly secure. But won't know about rotation until after it happens.

Don't know. Just get Alvarez. Lack of good striker options anyways. Cheaper. Already have too many mid options. You'll be less mad when he's rotated cuz the other strikers are already gash.

Nobody knows. I believe that Foden is more nailed until KDB is back but its Pep so its only an advanced quessing rather than confident answer.

Its pretty big, i have to waste a transfer to get Saliba etc where I could have jumped early on Alvarez or taken a punt on Nketiah etc. Its a massive boost

Decent fixtures for most of this team but some serious caveats!
    1. Stones/Pedro-> 5.3m (Probably Henry)+ Wissa.
    2. Stones/Watkins-> (take your pick).
    3. Something else.

    Pickford.
    Chilwell, Estupinan, Gabriel.
    Fernandes, Martinelli, Rashford, Saka.
    Pedro, Watkins, Haaland.
    Turner, Beyer, E. Anderson, Stones.

I think thats part and parcel of fantasy sports - if you want to be at the pointy end you have to make use of everything you can.

I play FPL from Australia where the deadlines are horrible, but I understand that if I wanted to be serious I would need to follow it all perfectly. Unfortunately, its just how it is.

If they change the rule to 24 hours it will create a more level playing field. All press conferences are done by this time so there is no need to have a deadline so close to kickoff.

Totally agree using, early team leaks is really just a form of cheating. This is an example of how players achieve high ranking in the game. It's not skill, or football knowledge, it's just having information that most othe players are not privy to.

    What's the best option?
    A) Bruno > Foden
    B) Bruno > Maddison
    C) Bruno > Foden/Maddison & Joao Pedro > Wissa
    D) Baldock > Gusto

    1. The Pretender
      • 8 Years
      9 months, 12 days ago

I think Bruno is a hold this week. Nearly 2 xGI shows hes in it up to his eyeballs. Worth 1 more week.

By that metric, its either Baldock > Gusto, or both Baldock > Gusto and JP > Wissa, though I think one trade is plenty.

      1. JAYPEE

Don’t think it’s over rated but it’s debatable if this current one has worked.

Pickford, Gabriel, Bruno, Rashford, Watkins have all been disappointing, Haaland doesn’t count.

That’s 6 out of the popular 352 template, last years was probably stronger.

Brighton & Brentford assets have been holding it together.

I think that this year's preseason template was a bit deluded tbh.
There was no evidence that a Utd double-up was a good idea, yet many did it.
Also, the only Pool players people were talking about were Trent and Salah, when they were already back to heavy metal football and no clean sheets in preseason, with Salah mainly assisting and Diaz/Jota/Gakpo/Nunez scoring.

Yeah, double Arsenal and UTD midfield with Mbeumo was being touted by majority of the YouTube content creators, which is the template.

Same thing happened at the beginning of last season with that cheap midfield.

I think it’s safe to guess where the new one will head, double Brentford, triple City, triple Arsenal, Estupinan, not Pickford in goal, Chilwell, Gusto, Diaz, Jota.

Jackson is a massive punt but nothing wrong with rolling the dice with the fixtures Chelsea have over the next 6 GW's. Nice thing is that you can easily downgrade him to a cheaper playing forward if he bottles it over the next 2 weeks.

Thought Zinchenko wasn't the best for Arsenal last year tbh, not sure I'd say he's the one that makes them tick. That seems to be the likes of Saliba and Odegaard more than anyone else (probably Rice now too)

When he drops into midfield he makes the team tick, that’s not really relevant for fantasy but in real football, he helps Arsenal control teams a lot more than when he’s not playing, his inverted role was a feature in the team last year.

For fantasy, I had him for most of last season & he was always a niggle waiting to happen, I’ve got to make this decision myself now, I’m not sure which way to go.

He was also one of the best players in the team last year up to Anfield, then like everyone, he dipped, even Saka.

I meant in non FPL terms too, maybe I didn't see enough of him but I have seen a few Arsenal fans saying they expected a bit more from him. He inverted fine but I thought he wasn't great defensively and left too many gaps

That’s fair, I saw a lot of him & his strength was definitely more in the inverted role than defensively, he’s admitted that himself.

I had Saliba from GW1 but I think you're talking complete rubbish. It's just the way things are. All's fair in love, war and FPL

I'm in Australia and woke up in the middle of the night on deadline day to catch late news. I wound up swapping out Stones and Gabriel based on the info I heard. I consider the points I got well deserved!

I think I would play Diaz but that’s tricky. RDZ seemed to suggest Pedro wasn’t nailed (workrate?) and Diaz is in form and could score against anyone

Gabriel out, zinchenko in seems to be the smart (if uninspired) move…all in favour?

          At this point who knows..?
My thinking is doing the swap now is a bit sideways but it saves 0.1 (0.2 if you assume Gabriel drops before deadline).
Zinchenko looks safer for starts now imo

Awful gameweek meaning languishing at over 3m. Thoughts on what to do here?

      Onana
      Estupinan / chilwell / colwill
      Saka / Bruno / martinelli / rashford / eze
      Haaland / Watkins

      Turner / Gabriel / baldock / Mubama

Feels like I’ve been unlucky and wildcard would be too extreme

No major work needed. Utd will come good (sadly), defence is good and worth a punt on double Chelsea for their decent run. Front line solid.

If anything then consider dumping Gabriel before price drops, and changing Martinelli for either Foden or Diaz

Yeah I think that’s probably where I’m at. Martinelli for foden and then make a decision on a defender. Tempted to keep Gabriel as with Tomi out his CV chances of starting should increase and then have 2 FTs next week

Probably easier to rotate in this middle spot but on the other hand you could also play Ake instead of Gvardiol…either way, who is best for bps?

Which is the most priority move?

A- baldock to Chilwell (play 4-5-1 & pedro on bench)
      B- Pedro to Alvarez
      C- Pedro to wissa
      D- Pedro to Jackson

Last 3 options mean no Chilwell which I don't really like, but I'm not eager to sell saliba Or akanji right now

Already did salah to mbeumo with first FT

Had Maddison all week before GW1 deadline and moved to Odegaard late in the day. I "fixed" that "error" (as I put it to myself) and missed out on last night's haul, and may end up reversing it another time with Maddison likely missing a few games, so I've just wasted 2FTs and am worse off for points. An early lesson in needing some patience

That’s unfortunate, patience definitely required more often when playing this game. Many people in a hurry to sell Rashford and Bruno but I think that will backfire also.

I’m holding aswell, he still looks quality and only 2 games in. Really needs to do something against Brentford though.

I’m holding. Could have hauled gw1, but he needs to do something in the next 2 GWs. Hard owning him instead of Mitoma who is going well.

So it seems Saka only scored 2 pens & missed 1 last season so him being on/off pens is not really that big a deal with regards to the points he scored or could score going forwards, what last night did though with Odegaard taking it & maybe keeping them is it laid out the fantasy hierarchy for the midfield.

Has to be Odegaard, Saka & Martinelli in that order now, there wasn’t much to split them before but this swings it a little for me.

Odegaard being so consistent for bps when he gets any return also makes a huge difference too, all of the others aren't very consistent in that regards

        • 7 Years

Went Odegaard over the others from the start. He’s a set and forget. I think it’ll be close between him and Saka over the whole season points-wise, but reckon ode will edge it. Pens is a great bonus.
