    Should I just roll??
    Areola
    Gabriel, Saliba, Van Hecke
    KDB, Foden, Gordon, Saka
    Haaland, Watkins, Solanke
    Dubravka, Palmer, Gusto, Bradley

Looking at Foden/KDB to Son/Salah next week
Would rather have 2 guns who are guaranteed starts (bar injury)

Hey guys, I just need a second opinion on the below team please, plan to get Solanke next GW.

    Dubravka

    Gabriel Reguilon Trippier

    Foden Richarlison Jota KDB

    Haaland Watkins Darwin

    Areola Porro Kabore Anderson

    £0.1 itb 1ft

    1. Jota and Richarlison to Saka and Hwang/Neto for -4

    2. Jota and Richarlison to Saka and Odegaard for -4

    3. Jota and Richarlison to Saka and Neto

    4. Jota and Porro to Saka and Ait Nori

    5. Other

    5. Save

    Thanks guys!!!

Removing Richarlison and Porro makes no sense to me given Spurs' fixtures and their game in 29.

Jota to Hwang / Neto is a definite yes, then possibly Kabore to Pau to gain an extra player in both blanks with good fixtures too.

I'd consider keeping Porro but I wouldn't back Richarlison now that Son and Maddison are both back as this could significantly change how they attack. Porro also is much less of a goal threat now Maddison is back. I'm assuming all options are a -4 and it looks like 1 and 3 are the same?

I'd do Jota and Richarlison to Saka and Hwang. I'd expect at least 5 points from each.

      I don't.

We gotta wait until GW27 at the earliest so we know for sure which fixtures take place.

Would be hilarious if City, Arsenal and Liverpool all play. I'm hopeful on Arsenal-Chelsea taking place as well as maybe United.

as a pool fan I think it would be absolute madness to play him, no point calling yourself a title contender if you cant beat luton at home with the squad players available. Diaz gapko and eliot is enough.

Who do you expect/guess to have a DGW34 at this stage? If a team makes the FA Cup semi-final, how is it decided whether their GW34 fixture moves to the midweek slot (of 34) or to 37?

      1. Now I'm Panicking
        • 9 Years

All the games that need to be played are usually put into one pot and divvied out (with no bias on when the matches were postponed from, which is Ben Crellin's usual mistake) between the last 2 free midweeks after consultation with the police, broadcasters etc.

Cheers. So if e.g. Liverpool make the FA Cup semi-final, its 50/50 whether they blank? I.e. whether Everton (A) goes in 34 (midweek) or 37? Or does the draw only apply if there's more than one outstanding fixture?

          1. Now I'm Panicking
            • 9 Years

If Liverpool make the semis they will have 2 games to rearrange (from 29 and 34) - unless something strange happens, one will go in 34 and the other in 37, so they will blank in 29, single in 34, and double in 37.

Hmm yeah Chelsea would presumably have an extra DGW somewhere if they/Brighton make the SF. Couldn't be DGW34 as that's when the SF is.

Chelsea aren't in Europe, so one of their "to be rearranged" games against another team not in Europe (e.g. Spurs) will be played on a European night I would assume. Or perhaps a fabled TGW in 37 😀

Barring big FA Cup surprises, what’s a reasonable number of playing players to field in BGW29 and hits to take to get there?

For example, I can get 7 with no hits, or 10 with three early hits for strong players I like in the games leading up to the blank game week.

Is it just me that thinks it’s crazy for managers to try and get 9, 10 or 11 mediocre at best players in for blank 29?
Sure you cant concentrate and maximise G/W 26,27 and 28 when you’re solely thinking about putting these players in for 29?
Not trying to be confrontational but surely if you have F/H, that is the optimal time to use it and then you can build up your team for the D/G/W in 34, W/C in 35 and B/B in 37 assuming you have those chips left?
Be interesting to here your take on these points, cheers…

I think I need Saka as my Jota replacement, which -4 transfer to enable this makes the most sense:

        A) zinchenko > £4.7m Def
        B) Darwin > Solanke

        Team for this weekend:

        Dubravka
        Gabriel Ake Estupinian Taylor ZINCHENKO
        Foden Gross JOTA
        Haaland Watkins DARWIN

I'm planning to do Jota & Darwin > Odegaard & Solanke already this week.

Would it also be worth a -4 to move Burn on to someone up to 4.8? I'll need whoever I buy for GW29 and think Burn could end up on a negative score (if he even plays) this week. Options would be Reguilon and Pau.

This is a very interesting week. Many of us are forced to decide before we really want to.

If we would know the confirmed fixtures for GW29 this week it would be huge but we don't and many of us have to move now or else field less than XI.

Maybe it'd be a good exercise to count your GW29 players and then see how your strategy might change.

        Me: Areola, Reguilon, Watkins, Porro*

That's a lot fewer than I am comfortable with. I could go to 5 if I picked up a Villa defender/mid this week but that still means I'd need to take a hit to get to 9 for GW29 assuming we don't get added fixtures.

As a result, I'm leaning more towards FH29 atm but will gamble on Arsenal-Chelsea taking place. If that game goes ahead, I'd add 3 players to the list (4 if I buy Odegaard as planned) and would have no problem fielding XI in 29.

Otherwise, a FH29 makes a ton of sense for me.

I generally lean towards FH in blanks being better than DGWs because they guarantee value. If you have only 5 players for the week, your FH will guarantee that you will score more points than if you didn't. FH in GW34 or 37 seems like it'd risk you avoiding good SGW players plus the fact most of us still have a WC to help us setup to navigate those weeks better.

This double looks devilishly hard to be prepared for without compromising your team ahead of time.

Quality over quantity, rather than count who you have for 29, make sure you have covered the good options like Watkins, Son etc.

I don't see the problem with only having 9 players in GW29. In the event that only the 3 confirmed fixtures go ahead, or if LUT-NFO is added, who are the extra players you would have on FH that offer upside?

The problem is getting to a good 9 players isn't easy. These are the 9 I'd want to avoid FH in 29 (assuming we don't get extra fixtures):

Areola, Pau, Udogie/Porro, Reguilon, Son, Richarlison/Maddison, Bailey/Luiz, Watkins, Toney

How do you get there if you haven't got 2 from Spurs and Villa already? Most people don't have 2 Spurs players on the bench because of blank 26. Double Villa got ruined for a lot of people because of injuries to Konsa, Carlos etc.

Toney is not in 90% of teams because everyone is moving to Solanke for his DGW in 28 (rightly so).

So basically if in GW27 you can't get to double Villa, double Spurs at minimum you're very unlikely to be able to field the 9 you'd want for 29.

You already have 4 of them and you have 4 free transfers between now and 29. One hit gets you those players no?

Yes it does but leaves 0 leeway for injuries and I bought Solanke for Darwin already because I consider him mandatory for his double in 28.

So it would be x2 -4s and then it would mean I'd be buying a Villa defender/attacker this week over say an Arsenal/Wolves one. It would also mean I go into GW28 with just Solanke which maybe okay but I might want to get a Senesi/Doughty type player instead for that week.

The other problem I see is that if you morph your team to be GW29 ready, you basically HAVE to WC in 31. You'd have 0 Pool and just 1 City player most likely going into strong run-ins for both title contenders.

It can work. But it also depends quite a lot on the 29 players you buy from now until then to play and not get injured/dropped/suspended. And after that, you'd STILL only field 9 players vs 11 on a FH.

I've got 4 of those as well but if I use the 4 FTs between now and then on GW29 players l would end up with no GW28 double GWers. At the very least I'd need Solanke, and I'd want at least one other Bournemouth and they are unlikely to have a fixture in GW29.

I only have 1 Spurs (Porro) and 2 Villa (Watkins and Konsa) and still hoping to field 9 in GW29 with a hit.

Can get to: Areola, Porro, Doughty, Konsa, Son, Maddison, Bowen, Watkins, Toney which wouldn't be too different to most FH's I imagine.

The -4 seems worth it to preserve the FH for a later double. Will depend heavily on fitness updates this week though if Porro and Konsa look out longer than initial timelines

Remember we have the FA Cup next week which may well lead to more fixtures taking place in 29 than everyone is talking about, which could even make this whole conversation largely irrelevant.

Doughty might not have a game.

Konsa could be out for months and miss GW29.

You're in a worse spot than me. I would definitely plan to FH29 in your shoes unless we get some lucky breaks with added fixtures.

Agreed - I’m leaning towards just picking a cheap midfielder who I think will do well over the next 3 and ignoring 29 for now.

I know I’ll want to buy Solanke and probably Senesi with my next 2 FT so I think FH29 is inevitable for me unless there are FA cup shocks.

FH GW29, WC GW35/36, BB GW37 for me unless there are major upsets in the Cup before then (Arsenal Chelsea taking place would tip the balance for me as well)

          Allows you to

Use FTs to strengthen your current squad (including BGW26 and more DGW28'ers) without worrying about who blanks and doesn't in GW29.

Keep the in form highly owned players you currently have TV tied up in for another 9 to 10 GW's whilst still fielding a full 11 in GW29.

WC later to set up BB than if you dead ended into GW29.

I don't currently see no FH in GW34 being a major issue.

There will be 5FTs between GW29 and GW34 to bring in DGWers if necessary, but GW34 could just be a single GW if the weekend postponed fixtures are moved to midweek, and if City and Pool make the FA Cup semi finals they will only have a maximum of one PL fixture that GW, Spurs also won't double if City make the semi, and Arsenal chances depend on Wolves not making the semi final, and their GW29 fixture v Chelsea if it's postponed being moved to GW34, not GW37.

I think that's too late to WC.

I'm thinking like GW31 for WC or if my team is fine then 33 latest to prep ahead of the blank 34 and potential 37 BB.

I think if you make a transfer this week to remove a Blank 26 for a team that is playing in 26 & 29 e.g. Douglas Luiz then that's worth doing, by next deadline after that we'll know the fixtures for certain and at that point you can decide to FH29 or not.

If you can save FT that looks the best option but I know that is not people as people are sitting on Chelsea, Spurs & Pool. Fortunately I had only 2 players from those 3 teams going into this week and both playing GW29 also.

This is all why I'm set on FH29 as my team isn't set up for it and don't want my transfers in the coming weeks to be dictated by teams who play that week. If Arsenal Chelsea happens to come into it I might change my mind but ever since that game looked unlikely to be in it I thought FH29 was the best way to go for me.

Interesting to see your thinking on this. I'm pretty sure I want to FH in 29, unless some of the big teams surprise us by having a fixture. For me, the big advantage to the FH in 29 is not so much the points I gain that week (probably won't be many more than the people with 8-9 players in the end), it's all the points I avoid throwing away between now and then by over-planning my transfers.

FWIW, my rough plan is to WC 31, BB 34 (because there should be cheap players with doubles that week who can be bench fodder the rest of the season) and then hide behind a sofa GW37

Exactly. Okay it will save you a hit or two and maybe Hwang outscores Villa mids over the next three but is that worth it for the limited FH upside in 29 compared to 34 or 37?

Over the next few weeks I'm looking at Saliba, Hee Chan, Salah and Solanke. None of them are likely to play in GW29.

These players are more important to my team over many gameweeks in the future.

GW29 - I can just load up on 3 Spurs, 3 Villa, Toney and a few punts. I don't really want them much after that.

A GW29 team actually does alright in 30 as well.

If you load up on Villa and Spurs at the expense of City it works because Villa and Spurs have good fixtures in 30.

The problem with no FH 29 is you're basically forced to WC31.

Looking good, I'd get a Villa def in there if possible.

Garnacho vs Adingra a close one too

Thanks is there any particular reason to get a villa defender?

Martinelli Estu and Palmer ▶️ Saka Hwang and Richards for a -8?

Feel like the hit could pay off, Martinelli has been unlucky though..
