Siewert could bring attacking 4-3-3 to Huddersfield

New manager Jan Siewert could prove the ideal candidate to get the Huddersfield Town playing more attacking football.

He arrives in England with a history of intense offensive play in German and will be tasked with transforming Huddersfield Town’s fortunes.

They sit bottom of the Premier League table with, their 11 points 10 away from safety.

If Siewert achieves his mission then we could see some of the Terriers’ cheaper options present themselves as viable budget enablers between now and the end of the season, but there is certainly a long way to go.

We’ve read up on the former Borussia Dortmund coach to see what impact he could have at the John Smith’s Stadium.

What is his career history?

It must be said that Siewert has not had much experience of managing first teams at a high level, but is well-respected in Germany for the work he achieved at youth level.

He retired from playing professional football in his country’s lower leagues in 2009, landing his first coaching role in 2013. That was with the German Football Association where he was assistant manager to Christian Wuck with the Under 18s, before doing some work with the Under 17s.

After two years Siewert landed his first managerial job with Rot-Weiss Essen in the fourth tier, before becoming the assistant to Gertjan Verbeek at Vfl Bochum in the Bundesliga in 2016. After working with their Under-19s, he was brought in to manage Borussia Dortmund II, who operate in the fourth tier.

Arriving at Huddersfield this week, Siewert is now the Premier League’s youngest manager, aged just 36. While it may appear like a left-field appointment, with some criticism of the decision to avoid more tried and tested English candidates, the German has been on the club’s radar for some time.

He explained in his first press conference as Huddersfield boss that contact had been made by the Terriers two years ago when he was working at Bochum. Siewert, then 34, was lined-up as a potential replacement for predecessor David Wagner if he was offered a position at a bigger club that he couldn’t refuse. That line of communication has remained intact ever since, making his appointment relatively seamless both for the club and Siewert himself.

“We stayed in touch since I worked at Bochum. I did my work there and, until my contract was up with the club, I did my work there full time. We were in touch and I followed what was happening here in Huddersfield. It was really fascinating for me. This is a special club and that is the reason I decided to sign for Huddersfield Town.” – Jan Siewert

What is the view from Germany?

Just as Wagner was when he joined Huddersfield in 2015, Siewert comes to England as a relative unknown. Thankfully, Huddersfield’s local newspaper the Examiner spoke to Sascha Klaverkamp, a journalist at Dortmund newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten to report how he is viewed in his own country.

“Jan Siewert is a young coach, he has worked in Dortmund for one-and-a-half years now with the second team. His style is an attacking style of football. It is not the style of Jurgen Klopp, who also came from Dortmund and played an attacking style here before doing the same in Liverpool. Siewert is a coach who likes to form young players, develop talent and work with young players. Before he moved to Dortmund, he worked in Bochum, which is a city 20 or 30 kilometres away, where he worked with a young squad. Before that, he worked for the German Football Association also with young players, so he is the man who develops and improves young players.” – Sascha Klaverkamp

What is his style of play?

Siewert has been a proponent of a fluid 4-3-3 formation, with a focus on attack and the use of exciting wingers.

That could make for a refreshing change from the 3-5-2 and 3-5-1-1 systems played under Wagner this season before recent experiments with 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-2-1.

Whether Siewert is able to use his preferred formation remains to be seen, with him leaving his options open in his first press conference. While stressing the importance of his ideas, he also admitted he needs time to assess the squad before he can confirm his favoured tactics will work with the group.

“We are in a certain situation at the moment and the team is in a certain situation at the moment, so first of all, I have to understand the players. Then we can do everything, but the most important thing is that my style is my style. We can talk flowery about everything, but the most important thing is to work it out with the players. They are important. Then we will see and the people will see this is our football.” – Jan Siewert

With his success in working at youth level, we could also see some of the younger players in Huddersfield’s squad given a chance to play.

What effect could Siewert have on FPL?

Front-three

If Siewert does play with a front three, it could see Steve Mounié (£5.8m) or Laurent Depoitre (£5.1m) given much more support than they have had so far in 2018/19.

The pair has just one goal between them in the first 23 Gameweeks, while Huddersfield’s top scorer in the Premier League is centre-back Matthias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen (£4.4m) on three.

However, whether Siewert has the right personnel to play with attacking wingers effectively remains to be seen. Only Everton (523) have attempted more crosses than Huddersfield (510) so far this season, but the Terriers rank 10th for their completion rate (23.7%). Furthermore, only four teams have recorded fewer key passes than the West Yorkshire side in 2018/19 (183).

Wagner largely preferred to allow wing-backs such as Chris Löwe (£4.4m), Erik Durm (£4.4m), Florent Hadergjonaj (£4.4m) to provide the width, his options further up the pitch a little uninspiring.

Adama Diakhaby (£4.5m) and Isaac Mbenza (£5.9m) are both capable of playing on either flank but neither has registered more than 560 minutes this season. The former could also play up front, as he did against Manchester City.

The latter and Elias Kachunga (£4.8m) have both been involved in the last few Gameweeks. Mbenza has started two of the last three in either wide or central positions, while Kachunga has featured from the beginning in every league match since Gameweek 21.

Alex Pritchard (£4.8m) has predominantly been used as a central player for Huddersfield but could be used either wide left or right. That might be the only way he could fit into Siewert’s 4-3-3 if he chooses to go with that formation, as he is more of an attacking midfield than one who could sit in a midfield trio.

Jason Puncheon (£4.2m) looks likely to remain in the central midfield trio, having played there since arriving on loan from Crystal Palace. He could theoretically be used as one of the wide players in the 4-3-3 but at the age of 32, he may not be able to offer the same level of pace as he used to.

Abdelhamid Sabiri (£4.3m) could also be an option on the left but has been missing with a shoulder injury since early December. He might be back in the fold in early February though.

Meanwhile, Rajiv van La Parra (Middlesbrough), Collin Quaner (Ipswich), and Ramadan Sobhi (Al Ahly) have all gone out on loan as they were considered surplus to requirements.

Crucially, those nine candidates for a place on the flanks of a Siewert front-three combine for a total of just one assist this season, showing that there is certainly plenty of hard work to be done.

Alternatively, wing-backs Löwe, Hadergjonaj and Durm are theoretically capable of playing further up the pitch, and their experience of providing width could see Siewert take the bold decision of deploying one of them on the flanks of attacking midfield. Given their prices, that would certainly be worthy of note for Fantasy managers. Outside of Mounié (four), Löwe is Huddersfield’s top assister this season with two.

Central midfield

If Siewert does implement his favoured 4-3-3 system at Huddersfield, it will be interesting to see who is handed a place in central midfield.

As already explained, Puncheon is sure to be a candidate having started his first two league matches in Yorkshire since arriving from Palace.

However, Phillip Billing (£4.5m), out through injury against Manchester City, and Jonathan Hogg (£4.4m) have largely been mainstays this season and one of them might have to miss out in order to accommodate Aaron Mooy (£5.1m) when he returns.

The Australian has stepped up his recovery from a knee injury in recent days, taking part in a group training session on the John Smith’s Stadium pitch after the defeat to Manchester City on Sunday. While Pritchard is not particularly suited to a traditional central midfield role, preferring instead to play further forward, Mooy’s contributions both offensively and defensively make him an ideal candidate to do well in a 4-3-3 system.

Juninho Bacuna (£4.2m) may also be in the equation having started against the defending champions, although he has not had much game-time this season, while the industrious Danny Williams (£4.5m) is hopeful of a return before the end of the season.

Defence

Wagner’s recent switch to a back-four may make a transition to a 4-3-3 system fairly easy for the defenders currently at Huddersfield.

As the club captain Christopher Schindler (£4.3m) should remain the first name on the team-sheet, although who is paired with could be up for debate.

Zanka has largely played alongside him this season, but he was named on the bench by Mark Hudson against Manchester City, with Terence Kongolo (£4.3m) preferred instead.

Löwe and Tommy Smith (£4.4m) were named as the full-backs, although there is plenty of competition here too with Durm and Hadergjonaj also available.

Conclusion

As when any new manager joins a Premier League, we would advise waiting before seriously considering any of their assets.

Given the form Huddersfield have been in recently, picking up just one point from their last 10 Premier League matches, that rings especially true.

Siewert clearly has plenty of work to do, with some even suggesting he has been brought in to help prepare for next season where they will be rebuilding from the Championship.

It is not until Gameweek 27 that their fixtures are particularly encouraging either, with Everton (home), Chelsea (away) and Arsenal (home) their next three opponents.

The Toffees are not exactly at their best right now so we could see a spirited performance at the John Smith’s Stadium in Gameweek 24, but those Gameweek 25 and 26 matches look particularly challenging.

However, a trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 27 looks slightly more appealing, before Wolves (home), Brighton (away), Bournemouth (home), West Ham (away) and Crystal Palace (away) after that.

It will be these fixtures that will truly demonstrate whether Fantasy managers can trust Huddersfield as Siewert will have had time to bed in changes and the matches themselves look more like the kind they will be targetting for points.

Too many injuries/absentees yes, but they keep going.
          I see a straight line: Eriksen>Alli>Moura>Son.
Moura should be good to go for c 2 GWs and then Son's a shoo-in, no?

I have Alli too and I will probably just save the transfer this GW even if Alli drops in price.

I'm confused as to why Lucas Moura is down 65+% in fplstatistics.

My intention is to switch Dele Alli for Moura, so what am I missing? Isn't he likely to be fit for the next GW or at least the one after?
I had Eriksen and used my 1FT to get Alli, which actually made the difference in winning my weekly cash ML, but I don't have the funds to get Eriksen back.

I'll try to wait a few days to do any transfer, ideally waiting until Moura's fitness is confirmed, but Alli's price is going to drop sharply now his injury is confirmed so I don't want to wait too long.

So, chaps, what am I missing?

Mendy coming back does impact things, they played together twice in 13 to start the season, Pep even said without Mendy Sane is so important because of his ability to get out wide and cross (which Delph and Zinchenko can't do)

You can't predict the rotation when City are involved in all 4 competitions it makes sense to rotate Jesus and Aguero, KDB and the Silva's, even the centre backs but tactically playing Sterling on the Left as he's more comfortable cutting inside and starting on the right with Bilva or Mahrez with Mendy firing in crosses was working really well and theres no reason he won't go back to it

Higuain will take medical in Chelsea today and it seems like a done deal. What price do we expect him to be in FPL? He thrived when playing under Sarri in Napoli and was scoring like a madman (35apps - 36 goals in Serie A). He is the kind of player that thrives if fed correctly in the box. What are your thoughts about this transfer?

I think he's going to come in at 10.5 which was the same as Auba this time last year i think, happy to be corrected if wrong. Which personally i feel is expensive, 9.5 / 10 i think is a fairer price.

If he comes in 9.5m then he's worth considering - while his stint at Milan has been a disappointment (every striker has struggled there since Ibra) he had 16 goals 7 assists in 2800 minutes in Serie A last season.

He'll feed off of Hazard who is likely the real beneficiary here, Higuain's hold up play is exactly what that attack needs.

He also understands Sarrismo which Giroud/Morata are still trying to figure out. Could be a nice differential if he's sub 10m, expecting 8 or 9 goals from him.

Hard to say if he would be any value at 9.5m, but seems a fair price. I believe that Sarri knows exactly how to feed him and has the right players to do so. He will probably be decent if he links well with Hazard and I hope he will enable Hazard in a way.

Last year nearly a goal every 2 apps, not bad not good considering he was playing for Juve. He struggled in Milan but that team suffers lately. For me it's a wait and see, since Chelsea is not on form either.

Form hasn't been great in recent weeks, but he started off well at Milan before fading and scored 40 odd goals over a couple of seasons at Juventus. His age is a concern, but he's only slightly older than Aguero and should slot into Sarri's 4-3-3 instantly. At 9.5 I'd be tempted to get on board early.

Someone made a good point recently that Chelsea are not in the title race and the players are going through the motions and also not buying into Sarriball. It certainly appears that way

Top four race is pretty important though! I just think they’re a bit predictable and he needs to mix it up a bit. Higuain should help him.

There may be something in it, but they are fighting for a Champions League place and people forget they went 18 games unbeaten earlier this season before losing to Spurs.

In their last 8 games they've won 4, drawn 1 and lost 3 (which included away trips to Spurs and Arsenal) - is it really that bad? The attacking side is a concern, but with Higuain coming in, I can see it changing.

I can remember Guardiola in season 1 at City going through similar runs - lost to Leicester and Chelsea back to back, drew with Boro and Southampton around the same time. Sarri just needs time IMO.

    Fabianski
Doherty - Van Dijk - Alonso
    Salah - Sterling - Brooks - Pogba
    Ings - Jiminez - Aguero

    Guaita - AWB - Camarasa - Holebas
    1 FT; 0.9 ITB

Thinking of doing Fabianski out for Lloris, just before the deadline. Will have a good idea by then of Spurs' fixtures.

All of a sudden, midfield has got a bit uninspiring for me.

Most teams at this stage have Salah and Pogba, but that leaves 3 spots in our midfields to fill, and there’s not a huge number of standout options, especially with Alli now injured.

Hazard and Richarlison have been popular choices over the last couple of weeks, but recent blanks and some pedestrian performances has seen their stock slide. However, both are currently nailed on to play and both have good fixtures on the horizon, making that decision to sell that bit harder.

Over in the blue part of Manchester, they continue to score good amounts of goals and share the points between their attacking assets, which could be seen as both a good thing and a bad thing. However, with the threat of Pep rotation looming, which ones can we confidently buy? Sane might be under threat from the returning Mendy, Sterling’s returns have been less than stellar in comparison to his price tag, whilst in central midfield there is a fierce battle between numerous players for about 2 spots, with KDB only just returning from injury.

Other options that are a bit more of a punt are available – Jota, Lamela, Moura perhaps, but all come with a startling uncertainty that might turn some away in fear that they might be a flash in the pan, or even a complete dud for the Spurs men.

Who will make up your midfield? Will you opt for a power 5 in a 3-5-2, or are you buying some fodder for a 3-4-3? Perhaps your midfield is in a stage of “make-do”, and you have plans to rejig once some better options become available – let’s hear your thoughts!

7 blanks in his last 10 appearances would worry me, especially with an incoming blank. Similar record to Richarlison, but for more money! He does look, however, a decent attacking option. Just not sure I'm willing to punt on him yet! 🙂

Right now playing 3-5-2, was looking to switch to 3-4-3 with Auba instead of Kamara, and probably downgrade Fanderson, but not so sure anymore about Auba, Sane is looking too good to ignore right now, but with blank and Mendy coming I am completely lost. If Hazard gets his double, a switch from him to Son immediately after looks perfect in my mind.

City look like they'll score wherever they are, but that rotation worries me, especially with Sane. If we get a DGW 25, I might leave a transfer to the last minute in an attempt to guess a mid that will play both games - KDB currently front running in my mind, unless Sane continues to keep playing

For me, I agree Salah and Pogba are obvious picks. I'm happy enough with Hazard, and it'll be interesting to see what happens if/when Higuain signs. He has enough potential for me to hold, particularly with no one else really interesting me.

Richarlison stays in my side until the fixtures turn. He could easily score and again, I don't really see anyone else I want more.

No City is a worry but Sterling is the one I'd want and he's maybe a bit more expensive than I want. The blank worries me.. but maybe I should just find a way to get him in. Having Aubameyang up front feels good, and I'm quite happy with 343

Great Hot Topic- been struggling with this all week.

I think Spurs assets still need looking at due to those amazing home fixtures. Moura and Eriksen are the likely ones to do something and will be high in bonus as a result. Emphasis on set pieces and crosses for Llorente could see Eriksen pick up a fair few assists. Obviously a risk.

The city roulette is difficult especially for those like myself who don’t have a City mid. Sane is appealing due to the price and form but with Mendy back it gives Pep a better incentive to rest Sane. Albeit, City can’t afford to drop points. Sterling for me is too much and I think will be rotated in this period. KDB could be an explosive differential but ‘could’ is important. The city blank and double Gameweek furthers the tricky decision!

Mane also is another one-decent form and going under the radar a little bit. Good fixtures too!

I’m getting rid of Lingard and Richarlison as even when they have easy fixtures they aren’t performing. Can’t afford Mane + Sane/KDB so I need to decide who’s more important.

I currently own Salah, Hazard, Pogba, Sigurdsson and Brooks which I'm happy with for now. Would love to bring in a City midfielder (or possibly Moura) but I already own Aguero and need to see who blanks in 27 before deciding.

I think eye test is important. If you watch the games you would see Chelsea and Everton were awful most of the time. But if you are a fan of underlying stats, you will keep apologizing for Hazard and (to a lesser extent) Richarlison.
But the problem is, no one has the time to watch all the games.

      I have Salah / Haz / Pogba / Fandersen / Redmond.

Haz will stay til we know whether he has a DGW 25 or not. If not, he can jog on for Sterling, and quick smart.

The other two are no bloody use to me whatsoever ATM, but lack of options (and FT's) means they'll stay for want of better options.

WHU fixtures turn in 26, Leicester in 27, so I'll probably end up keeping Fandersen and getting Maddison ........ by which point we'll be bricking it over the blanks / DGW planning........so I'e decided not to give it too much thought, frankly

This summarises my situation as I have Salah, Hazard, Pogba, Sane and Richarlison. But for me the solution is somewhat self-imposed. Due to the GW27 blank plus the coming fixtures, I will keep Richarlison for now and sell after GW26. If Hazard also gets a blank, I will do the same with him and keep the rest of the three. If Hazard will not blank I will sell Sane. Salah is a season keper for me and Pogba is a keper until my second WC at least. At this stage of the game, with blanks and injuries abundant, and with such quality players, making a transfer out of sheer ambition would not be right. I just have to wait and play according to injuries and blanks.

I have Salah/Haz/Sané/Pogba/Siggy, don't really have immediate plans to change it until I find more specifics about DGWs and Blanks. I never really do a transfer unless I am almost certain the incomer will score more. Only other reason would be to downgrade someone to upgrade another position, but nothing is screaming out to me. Probably because I have almost -the- template team (if siggy was rich), these mids with Fabi/Robbo/Doherty/Digne/Rash/Jiminez, with Kola and Holebas for nice defensive options. Probably just bringing in Button for Hamer this week.

      Players are on my watchlist:
      Leno/Auba/Jota/Gross/Zaha/Lamela/Moura/Mane/Firmino/Sterling

Slash and Pogba are a given, I’m being daft and keeping Richarlison and hazard due to the fixtures over the next few and other fires to put out.

Inactually imminently moving funds forward away from the midfield; with Rashford and Jiminez providing returns and value, you can get a big hitter like Aub for his fixtures.

This does mean I’m going sans city, spurs and mane, but with upcoming fixtures and potential form issues, I’m happy to do that.

Hazard (and Chelsea) not passing the eye test even remotely for me. I watched the Arsenal game and they were just toothless. Don't think Higuain will thrive - he hasn't been setting Series A alight so I can't see it happening in the Premiership. Jota on the other hand looks the real deal - lots of talent, seems confident and has great fixtures. What isn't there to like? I think a midfield of Salah, Sane, Jota, Pogba and a cheaper like Ward-Prowse or Redmond is the way to go.

Salah, Pogba, Sane. That leaves 2 more spots.

Sane is in too good of form to ignore, potential DGW coming. What's not to like except for the "threat" of rotation?

The last two spots are tougher. But happy enough with Hazard and Rich for now. They've done well over the season and have fixtures to back it up. Can reevaluate when we know the schedule.

I believe that cheap attackers and 5 pricey mids are the way to go forward. Alternately 4 pricey mids and Auba as premium striker.

Best mid available going forward as I see it:

      Salah - Pogba - Mane - Sane - Hazard

For most people this would leave enough money to get
      - rotating goalies
      - Decent defence (not the premiums)
      - at least 2 good Budget/midrange forwards

I have the same budget in midfield but with Sterling and Felipe instead of Sane and Mane.

Son will be back after another 2 or so gameweeks. I'm not too worries about messing with midfield since I'll need a route to getting him back in, preferably via Felipe but that leaves even less budget elsewhere and this midfield is already ruining my defence. I'd Chelsea stick suck, might have to be Hazard which would allow me to upgrade defence as well.

          *if Chelsea still suck.

PS whenever I downgrade midfield for premium forwards I regret it and there's a lot more options there, so I can't see myself shifting funds forward any time soon.

Auba compared to rich and Haz ...is passing the eye test, and I believe he will score and haul very soon . so i am in favour of a 3-5-2 or a 3-4-3 with Auba in there as the way to go. since i dont trust ANY of the non premium options at the moment except jota or ings, and just think the top 6 are too strong i look to get the best of the top 6 then ings or jota will make my decsion go 3-5-3 or 3-4-3...and yes its full of the usual suspects....will make my decsion on these 2 players by trying to watch saints v palace and wolves v west ham.

      sal - pogba - sane - sterling
      rash - auba - ings

      or

      sal - pogba - sane - sterling - jota
      rash - auba

I don't know if I would use the word "uninspiring", but its certainly an uncertain time with the midfield. I think a solution may well present itself though through the blank 27 and possible double 25. Then it will be simply be a case of playing reactively and bringing in DGW players before dropping them for their blank.

Everton’s double will have City in it —> dont feel the need to get EVE players for the sake of them playing two games

City DGW is effectively a single GW for most of their players.

Spurs or Chelsea, that might be different.

Currently I have Salah, Sane, Pogba, Martial and Hazard.

I like the extra point potential you get from midfielders from goals and CS so I have put the bulk of my cash in there.

For now, I am not going to change anything.
With Higuain coming into Chelsea, I hope (fingers crossed) that Hazard will be moved out wide again. From what I have seen, he's much better there. Will keep for now.
I already did the Salah out thing this season. Not going back there!
Pogba seems like the best in-form midfielder. Not going anywhere.
Sane looks like the best City option currently. I know Mendy is on his way back, but I am not sure how much it will affect his game time.
Martial is a little bit of a differential. He looks like fist choice even if Lukaku/Sanchez get game time. He was unlucky not to get points last round.

If I was to change it would be Martial to:

      Jota:
Bit of a punt but if he really is a player that does best after Xmas then he could be on the way to a run of form.

      Fraser:
Had him a long time. When Bournemouth fixtures clear up, he's a good choice.

      Siggy:
I had him over Richarlison for a long while. I still think he is a better option as long as Richarlison is played up front. He is much, much better out wide (like Hazard). Siggy offers so much more and the price diff. is so small now. But not until after the BGW.

      Gundogan:
This could be a good punt. Every time I see City play and he is on the pitch (from start or subbed in) he just gets involved in so much. Combined with Sane it could be good "cover" as there will be rotation, no matter what! And it would free up cash to use elsewhere.

      Salah (not up for debate)
      Pogba (not up for debate)

Then.... If you have city assets, no need to sell now, but if you don't, I can't justify bringing them in with the blank upcoming.

      My current midfield includes.....

      Hazard (for now)
Richarlison (last chance saloon this week)
Anderson (week 27 game is good)

Looking to shift out either Richarlison or Anderson either for proper budget mid or a 5.5-6.2 mid, would allow me to shift Kamara out for Aubamayang (critical for week 27 and up against Cardiff at home this week).

Here's where I am at. Current milfs:

      Salah, Pogba, Hazard, Rich, Hojboj.

The first two are keepers. There is no point booting Hazard because you know he will come good sooner rather later and he is the second highest point scorer in the game as it stands.

The issue is Richarlison. 101 points at 6.9 mill.

You look at Robertson ( 128 points for 6.7 mill) and I am asking myself if it is worth keeping Rich when Robbo keeps returning and a double up with the LIV defence may actually be a decent differential.

Had Salah since the start, Rich since he came back from his ban at 6.6. Got Pogba in on Xmas wildcard for 7.9, and Hazard I’ve had since cashing in Auba in October time. With 5.8 ITB the easy move for me is Mitrovic>Auba, although I could bring in Sterling for Rich or Sane as 5th mid but I personally think that’s too much cash all in midfield.

So I’ll stick where I am I think, get Auba in early, roll my second FT and deal with my blank players in the coming weeks as I’ve no keeper in GW27 and double Everton.. Still got 1.0m ITB for a rainy day.

I had Hazard Richarlison Alli Pogba Salah in a 3-5-2,

Now rejigged into a 3-4-3 Swapping Hazard and Ings for Jota and Auba leaving me with Jota Richarlison Pogba Salah and Firmino Auba Rashford up front.

Jota was the only punt I fancied in midfield, too many risks associated with the premium picks.

Fifth mid is Alli, and have a few weeks grace before deciding on Son or fodder.

If it's Son then I have a choice to make. I may drop Richarlison for fodder as I have no confidence left in him, or I might go back to 3-5-2 if one of the strikers go off form. But I like the variety Firmino Auba Rashford brings!

    Calling all Man City owners....

On the scoutcast, they seemed to suggest holding onto your assets until GW27 and then getting rid that week for the blank.

Surely if you are planning to get rid in GW27, you might as well get rid in GW26? Unless of course you think that Man City will thrash Chelsea!?

Assuming City get through FA Cup and have blanks in GW31 and GW33, they would have this run:

      26 CHE
      27 blank
      28 WHU
      29 bou
      30 WAT
      31 blank
32 DGW (plan to free hit)
      33 blank
      34 Cry (plan to WC)
      35 DGW

I've only got Sane. Will likely hold him through to WAT.
