How Scout Membership can help Fantasy managers in 2019/20

Full-season Fantasy Football Scout subscriptions are still available for £17.50 – that’s the equivalent of less than 39p a week.

Over the years we have added to the benefits that our Members enjoy and we will be re-investing back into the site to enhance it further in 2019/20.

The most recent addition was the new Flat-Track Bully tool, which allows Members to conduct research in greater detail.

Using this new feature (pictured below) you can exclude/include certain teams (i.e. the ‘big six’) when scrolling through the various tabs in our Player Stats section.

This will help you identify players who perhaps perform better against weaker opposition and even those who thrive against the top teams like Raúl Jiménez did in 2018/19.

We also recently put a call out for web developers and we have a number of other site improvements in the pipeline that will hopefully help our subscribers even more.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

In 2018/19 we published more Members’ articles than ever before and there will be at least 150 such pieces in the 2019/20 campaign.

We also introduced Members-only comments and Hot Topics to allow for detailed discussions of content behind the pay-wall.

Our Projections and Rate My Team tools (below) have both been tweaked, with RMT’s Professor – aka Chris Atkinson – elaborating on the changes in a recent Hot Topic.

Reigning Fantasy Premier League champion Adam Levy is a paid-up Member of our site and he discussed what tools of ours he finds most useful in a recent interview.

In previous seasons we’ve helped FPL winners Tom Fenley and Simon March, while in 2015/16 we were thrilled to see Ed Masters – the winner of that year’s Members’ League – finish third in the overall rankings.

In 2017/18, Paul Gee went one better. He won our Members’ League and finished second, losing out to champion Yusuf Sheikh by just eight points.

We are hugely grateful to those who show their support by signing up as a Member each season. This continues to enable us to maintain the site, grow the Fantasy Football Scout team and develop more ideas.

Here are just some of the features you can enjoy as a subscriber:

Head-to-Head Comparisons

Compare both teams and players head to head.

Match Analysis

Analysis of every Premier League match (going back to 2011/12!), together with charts which plot average positions and our collection of heatmaps for touches, shots, chances created among other statistics.

Custom Stats Tables

Members can also create custom tables based on the data and share them with other subscribers (an example from last season is shown above).

Perhaps the most famous of these is Joe’s Goals Imminent table, which looks to predict which underperforming assets will find the net next.

Customisable Season Ticker

Sort by fixture difficulty and find out which teams’ matches rotate well using our customisable Season Ticker.

Be sure to check out all the other benefits of signing up as a member here. A full FAQ on our Members’ Area is also available here.

From a captaincy perspective there’s a case for going without Sterling until gw 4.Kane & Salah on the other hand

I really want to captain Kane GW1 v Villa, but feel I will have to play it safe with Salah.
Why, oh, why did they both have to have plum opening fixtures.. 🙁

He won’t be leaving my team. Him and Salah are my only main stays so far.

Anyone thinking of treble Liverpool defence? Without Mané and Salah/Firmino late back Salah may not get off to fast start compared to Sterling KDB Wilson Fraser but CS potential/attacking returns from defence could be good.... of course 1 Norwich goal but then most will have 2 defenders anyway and upside if all 3 get CS.

Setting up that way could give

    Ederson
    TAA Van Dijk Digne Robertson
    Sterling KDB Fraser Richarlison
    Wilson Deulofeu

    Woodman Dendoncker Greenwood Gibson

I think the 1 10m+ player strategy is fine, but the only player I would be willing to permacaptain is Salah. And then when you bring in another premium to the no-Salah scenario (to get rotating captains) e.g. Kane and Sterling, you lose most of the upgrades you made from not having Salah in the first place. So, if you're willing to captain a defender or permacaptain Sterling the strategy is fine, but for me if I have 1 premium it's Salah (because he can be permacaptained), if I have 2 it's Salah and another (because you're only saving minimal £ by not having him).

I think if you go without Salah you have to try and get Sterling and Kane/second captain option.

      Here’s my Salah-less team if you’re interested,

      Ryan
      TAA VVD Digne
      Sterling KDB Fraser Hourihane
      Kane Wilson Origi

I've got £0.5m to upgrade one of the following: Leno, Maitland-Niles or KWP.
    What do you suggest?
I'm thinking KWP -> Coleman but I already have Digne and not sure about double Everton defence.

Zinchenko the other obvious option but I think City will concede in 2 of their 3 opening fixtures.

Sterling same price and more potential. Could double up of course... but its hard to fit in Salah + 2 other premiums and if you go that route its probably better to go Salah + Sterling + Kane instead of Kun

    4. LSK
      • 6 Years
      4 years, 9 months ago

When looking at premium strikers Kane is cheaper. When looking at City assets Sterling is the same price and has outscored him the past couple of seasons. He's one of the best options there is and for the few that predict his hauls correctly and captain him at the right time he will be great but long-term Sterling is the better pick.

Sergio Aguero was subbed off in 23 of his 31 starts last season(74%), the most of any player. If you getting him as a captain option and he hasn't got any returns by the 60th minute it is squeaky

As a villa fan, he looked decent in our first friendly but need to see more of him. He is 6ft 3 and is currently our only recognised striker other than kodja and Davies who isn’t ready for the prem. we scored the most goals from set pieces in the championship last year so potential with him being so tall and our opening 10 fixtures minus spurs. Other assets to keep an eye on is guilbert, he hasn’t been added yet but was stand out performer firsts game, grabbed an assist and he is a rb, so if he is 4.5 would be worth it.

Will keep an eye on Wesley over preseason mate so I know more.

Cool - I am always hesitant with newly promoted teams but there is great value to be had if you get the right ones before the masses descend. Cheers for the inputs and good to have Villa back in the Premiership. Best of luck for the season.

    Settled on this lot-

    Pope/4.5
    TAA - VVD - Digne - Zinchenko
    Salah - Sterling - Fraser - Perez
    Wilson - Deulofeu
    (4.0 - Dendoncker - Greenwood - 4.0)

Got 0.5m itb a for rainy day or I could use it for VVD to Robbo, Fraser to Siggy/Rich, Perez to Maddison etc but not entirely convinced about any of the upgrades.

Also Digne to Walker/Laporte if Gueye leaves?

I work with a Blades fan who reckons Robinson will play.

Looks to me like their boss Chris Wilder is taking a punt on a few options.

I also know a Preston NE fan who reckons Robinson was one of the best strikers in the Championship and getting better and better all the time - they were gutted to lose him.

Funnily enough I went Laporte to VVD in the first place.

I’m not too sure about Mousset myself.

Digne to Coleman is worth considering unless the Ev sell Gueye in which case I’m out on their defence.

If this was me, i’d do Ryan, Lascelles and Richarlison to Pope, Zinchenko and Sigurdsson. But Siggy/Richy is a toss up.

Zinchenko is definitely on my radar.

Goalies I’m open to suggestion and don’t feel over the moon at having Brighton’s pair after the end of last season.

Know what you mean about Rich/Siggy.

I'd wait and see if Newcastle will be the train-wreck most expect.

Yes, although if they do stay up I think it will be because of their defence including the keeper.

Thinking of playing 3-5-2 to start so Lascelles unlikely to feature for me at the beginning.

How does everyone reckon Leicester will lineup this season? Either 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 I would think, both of which likely mean Perez out wide.

    Schmeichel
    Pereira - Maguire - Evans - Chilwell
    Ndidi - Tielemans
    Perez - Maddison - Barnes
    Vardy

    No Pogba love on here
Apparently he's settling down. Currently on a 6 year contract not going anywhere. Will be the main man at United. Unlikely to go to Real...

Apart from Zinchenko and Coleman what are other 5.5DFs would you have in your team for the start of the season

    Any ideas would be appreciated

Finally found a decent £5.5m midfielder.

Schlupp. Playing number 10. Good fixtures. High Involvement in Crystal Palace goals last season.

Unfortunately I don’t think Palace will score very much, especially if Zaha leaves

dendoncker per minute goal involvement was better and expected goal involvement was significantly better
