How Liverpool’s key FPL assets compare ahead of 2019/20

With a week to go before Gameweek 1, five of the eight most-owned Fantasy Premier League assets are on Liverpool’s books.

The Reds’ players were a rich source of FPL points last season and there is optimism that they can replicate that in 2019/20, although we have had to swallow price rises with a number of their key Fantasy assets.

FPL managers will be especially keen on Liverpool in the first two months of the upcoming season, with the Reds sitting second on our Season Ticker in Gameweeks 1 to 8.

Can the Reds match their performance levels of 2018/19, though?

          I’m not saying that Pepe will get 300+. But if he can adjust quickly, a 200+ season wouldn’t be off the cards. Given what I’ve seen and researched on Pepe, I think a haul of that magnitude could well be on the table if he’s able to transmit his form from France over to the Premier League: remember I’ve taken his penalty numbers out.

          I don't think that's fair. Loads of people had Salah gw1, myself included. I'm willing to be persuaded on pepe, but there are 3 main differences:
          - 0.5m
          - the main one! pepe played almost every minute for lille 3333 mins, that's unheard of! There is absolutely no way emery does that with him for arsenal based on every attacking player he's had at arsenal. Out of interest, there's another player who scored almost identical xg/90 xa/90 as him (Inc his pens) who's come to the Premier league from a top 4 european league.
          - Formation: Firmino was always the one to drop deep to allow others to take limelight, lacazette and aubameyang are essentially 2 strikers

          He could still make be great value, but saying its the same as Salah is not true.

      Alrrady in my team. He have value. Maybe he cant be like Salah but with 9.5 price tag he have a good stat, more than Auba who is 11.0m. I talk about this when see his stat in Ceballos article.

      What makes me worry is his minutes. If only Emery can make less rotation and give more minutes to Pepe, Auba and Laca, it will be very good for FPL managers.

      Different league? Yes.. Salah come from different league too before broke the EPL highest points. Vardy never play for EPL level but in his first season , he broke Van Nistelroy's record. Mahrez too. Suarez too name a few.

      He have possibility.. To succed or failed. Its a risk u taken after make some research.

      Furthermore, Arsenal early fixtures is the best compare to other 9.0 / 9.5 mids . U can always take him out if he dont show some convincing performances.

    Barkley as he has more upside, if he can stay ahead of Mount. Everton CS potential is not that great.
    Fraser is the safer bet. Pulisic has looked really good, but his finishing in the past has been just average. Really good player. But FPL may not be his strength

          I wouldn't say Pulisic is nailed-on initially. This coming from a Chelsea fan.

          In fact, he may start but Willian is soon back & prefers the left, where Pulisic has been playing in pre-season.

          I do think Pulisic will mark either wing as his own eventually, but frankly nobody bar Kane, Kepa & Azpi are nailed.

              Not often enough, but what could they possibly be saying given Pulisic hasn't played at the Bridge yet, and all they've seen of him is what we all have ?

              As I said, I think he will mark the sport as his own. Also, I think to begin if he does start, he gets hooked later in the game.

              Interestingly Mount came on for Pulisic instead of Barkely in the latest preseason game. I suspect that won't happen often, but it's something to note.

                Expecting Pulisic and Pedro will compete at RW, which you expect Pulisic will win.

                Pulisic prefer RW, but can play either side, more so than Pedro - hence Pedro playing right and Pulisic left in preseason. When Willian returns, he can play on the left instead, with Pulisic shifting to the right.

                Mount is also capable of playing on the left, which is why he could come on for Pulisic, but he didn't. Kenedy did. Mount came on for Jorginho I believe

                  I agree mate. Definitely think Pulisic will win out in the long term.

                  I cant say Pulisic is nailed right now because the competition is still good. Being adaptable is a massive bonus, and it's obviously we'll want him to play most games. He's very close to a sure-starter, however.

                  RE: Substations, fair enough if that's the case. All coverage refers (e.g. Lineup subs) reference Mount as the sub for Pulisic. Of course, plays out a little differnetly on the pitch.

                    Yeah don't bother looking at the numbers that go up on the board, they just chuck em up any which way!

                    I can remember how we played between 75 and 81mins tbh, but with Mount, Pedro and Kenedy on the pitch, it's almost certain that Mount was central (hence sub for Jorginho) and Kenedy was wide (hence sub for Pulisic)

      Pickford has saved 23% of pens faced 8 out of 35. However, my numbers exclude shootouts and he has saved another couple for England in their last two.

      I am interested in Dean Henderson who has a 43% pen save record (6 from 14) and a 73% save percentage in the Championship last year.

          I don’t want to put you off, but later on in the game when the value players come to the fore, it should be possible to pack the bench with a little more potential firepower. It’s never an easy chip to play.

    I think that the start to this season is more interesting than many of the previous others . Player pricing opens up competition from many different strategies in terms terms of team set ups , wildcard timing and formations. Could well be massive early rank swings in the first third of the season.
