FPL Question Time: Consult our panel ahead of 2018/19 season

Fantasy Football Scout are giving you the opportunity to ask questions of our esteemed panel of FPL personalities ahead of the 2018/19 season.

If you are stuck on a particular issue and want some external input then this is your chance to get the feedback you need.

We’ve assembled a panel of four this week and will be bringing you a different set for each Gameweek over the course of the season.

    Haven't played in a few seasons and have tried to cobble something together for my work league.

    Pickford (5), Fabianski (4.5)
    Walker (6.5), van Dijk (6), Smalling (6), Baines (5.5), Wan-Bissaka (4)
    Salah (13), Mahrez (9.0), Mkhit (7), Maddison (6.5), Redmond (5.5)
    Arnaut (7), Zaha (7), King (6.5)

    Have 1 unspent.

    Would greatly appreciate any comments or help!!!

      All 15 players you have will play, which is both a good and bad thing. Might be worth downgrading some to improve some others.

      Without changing too much, I’d lose Fab for a 4.0 (preferably Stek to pair with Pick), consider swapping Walker and Smalling for Mendy and Azpi, downgrade Redmond to a 4.5 and then you can spend 2.5 elsewhere (maybe Mkhi -> 9.5 or Maddison -> 9.0).

              You gotta go with your gut at the end of the day man. I was 4th in the world after 3 gameweeks once...when I had a league of 10 different team all me!

              It just so happened that year my strat in this particularly team was Lampard Malouda Drogba plus some cheapies...might have been triple Stoke defence. I talked about it on here and some jeslous dude called Van Der Vaart reported me to FPL!

        Bench won't be that crucial early on right? One of 3 just playing would probably work out well in 'points per million', WB 90% likely to start, seems a decent calculated gamble.

    What’s everyone’s thought on the Zaha to Chelsea rumour ? They have so many midfielders already, would he be a backup or does this look like they are planning for hazard to move on.

    It would totally scupper my team as I have both Zaha and Hazard.

      My thoughts are that if he moved and became their first choice striker, in their usual one-up-top formation, Zaha at £7m would break FPL.

      I think if the are after Zaha it means Hazard is on his way out.

      Dream scenario for me is that Chelsea do not get Zaha and Hazard goes which would bring £4.5m Hudson-Odoi firmly into the picture.

          Yeah I saw that.
          In fairness too him I think he is improving at the you tube stuff.
          Some of his advice is spot on - how to play the game strategy etc.
          He needs a sidekick with chrisma though like Harry Redknapp!

            I agree. He's really honed things. You can see that on the scoutcast too. He used to be one of the weakest members of the panel and now he is one of the strongest. You can see that mark now respects his opinion.

      You need more recovery time rest is as important as the nutrition, exercise etc.
      Take one day off and do 4 times a week?

        I work out 5 times a week and I drink 8 days a week. I could do this for years but I just can't any more. This could be the truth, recovery means a lot, also I realised that I don't need to rest a lot. If I sleep longer than 5-6 hours a day, I feel very groggy and generally outspaced. Stopped drinking my favourite coffee too. I a mjust old man. It sucks

      All about nutrition... Pretty sure food is the biggest factor.
      Also you need to change the way you Workout (this is very important too) changing each muscle Workout every month may help too.

        Thanks mate. I train with my missus. She works like a work horse, I am miles away from her. Yet we are both stagnating at the moment..Gaining the weight. I also think that large fruit intake could be the key.

      Yep, working out is nice and stuff but if you still feel crap it's something mentally which is out of line.

      Focus on your family life, enjoy them and enjoy life. If your mind is focused right elsewhere then working out then your mind will feel less inclined to feel bad even after a work out

        Very overwhelming Bemba. Thank you mate. I have always been very disciplined, I got my military service, I like to train, I like to drink, I love the life, I love my family. I used to say I could do this or that but I just can't do some things easily and this gets me. I need to change my approach a bit and not be too stubborn. Love the last sentence. Just need to change my ways perhaps. Tweak them a bit

              Maybe a few on twitter or Instagram? People were asking Josh King if he was benched before games and he replied nicely.

      Lots of players play fpl so my guess is that there may be a few lurkers but coming to a place like this could be soul destroying for a player because most players are cut to pieces here at some stage or an other.

      Will probably lose his place to Yoshida once he's fit. Also got Jack Stephens competing for a place too. Peltier is first choice RB but will pick up no attacking returns, lots of yellow cards and will be regularly rotated and dropped completely if Cardiff go 5atb for some games. People have mentioned Bennet at Wolves who I'm not so well-versed on and Simpson has an outside chance of securing a spot at Bournemouth.

      Some thoughts to consider:
      Ditch the rotating keepers. You will frequently guess wrong and be pissed about it. Go set and forget with Pat or Fab and get a 4.0 2nd keeper. Use the .5 to do Bailly > Mendy.
      I like Hughes or Cairney over Neves/Costa, but any one of the four could turn out the best pick.

      KDB may not start GW1, but set aside to get him in. Neves your best bet over Costa. Bailly is he nailed?

      As for goalkeepers, rotation often leads to missed points. I prefer having the 4.5 keeper with easiest run of fixtures. Maybe change after every 7-8 gws

      I was no Mo for such long time. Just came to thinking, and mini league my only aim, is that cant win the thing in the first week but you can certainly make winning it difficult. Start with him, capatain first week. Give it 4-5 Gws for me and then can better judge the line ups, returing player and prob WC

      Arguably the best player in league had easiest fixtures, why take risk? Maybe sell when fixtures get difficult
