    Who Needs Raz Team*?

    Heaton
    Digne | VVD | Laporte | Robbo
    Salah | KDB | Pogba | Perez
    Wilson | Jimenez

    4.0 | Dendoncker | Rico | 4.5

*Assumes Pogba stays/recovers from "back injury" and Laporte fit

Love it. No one talks about Pogba on here, huge differential if fit. Jiminez is also flagged as injured isn't he?

Yeah. Definitely of two minds about it. I do think Jimenez can put up a similar score to last season and hopeful that if KDB stays healthy he's good for 200. If those dominoes fall, think this squad will be good. Still, Raz has a knack for having balls bounce off him into goal from 6 yds . . . .

        Cheers.

The team is very solid tbf.
If you want this 442 with 2 decent strikers would you consider
Pogba to Martial and small defence downgrade and then Jimmy to Vardy. I think it would look great.

Appreciate the suggestion! Would love to have Vardy in the team, and could probably find the .5 in back line. Martial is what worries me.

Rico is a bit of a pickle. Could be a great option with his attacking ability or could wind up being 3rd choice LB.
Can't decide if he's worth the risk. The fans don't particularly like him and they love Daniels. While Kelly *should* be first choice though he's a while away from being fit.

    Gentlemen, any suggestion?

    Enderson (Button)
    Robertson, TAA, Digne, Zouma (Lundstram)
    Salah, Sterling, Pérez, Barkley, (Dendoncker)
    Wilson, Kean (Greenwood)

-The everton's fixtures are attractive, but their pre season attack isn't. Sigurdsson is expensive in this context, but Kean is a worth bet?
-Barkley (good pre season) is a starter?
    -poor bench, no rotation

    thank you

If Kean doesn't start, then you are already down to 10 + not sure if Zouma and Barkley would also start. If you don't have much of a bench, it could be an issue.

    1. Sterling + Ings
    2. Perez (or any mid upto 7mn) + Auba + 0.5 itb

CP actually has some good games in opening weeks. I took PVA only because of attacking threat, cs can only be bonus. Would love to have money for Sterling but not so interested, I like better team structure in this way

            • 6 Years
            6 years, 6 months ago

Of course but I took PVA in hope that he will get some attacking returns in first few games. With Sakho and Tomkins out I dont know about cs but wanted to try to take a punt on someone. For 5.5 there certainly are better options but I have a good feeling PVA will have some returns and if they keep cs even better. So I agree with what you said but I am hopping the base for PVA will be attacking returns haha

He's 5.5m? No way would I spend that on a Palace defender. For that price you can get Coleman, Zinchenko, Shaw, AWB who all offer attacking threat AND cleansheet potential.

Yeah, this season's defence is pretty drab in th CB slots. But hearing they havent given up trying to get Upamecano just yet, and are preparing a second bid.

Upamecano-Holding(once he is fit) is a decent CB partnership, if it comes through. Remembered Holding keeping that defence somewhoat okay until he got injured last season.

Potentially. If Saliba comes good. And if they actually manage to sign Upamecano and he delivers.
But then again, it's Arsenal, if those guys are successful they're most likely sold in 5 or 6 years time anyway.

Last season, Cancelo played 24 games in the right, and 3 games on the left, as per Whoscored.

Dont see how he is a threat to Zinchenko. More like he will replace Kyle after a 2/3 games.

Because Juventus have Alex Sandro at left back - one of the, if not the best LB in the world.

Cancelo can play left back and he will. Pep won't just bench Walker - a 50 million signing he made himself

But Juventus have Sandro who is a quality lb so he didn’t need to play there. Zinchenko isn’t close to Sandro and is city’s weak point so Cancelo could definitely be used there.

Don't forget Zinchenko had never played left back before Pep moved him there so it's completely possible he could use someone who has actually played there before in that position.

Cancelo's preferred position is RB, there's no doubt about that, but he can play LB he just wasn't required to at Juve with Sandro there. I'd say Zinchenko is a weaker link than Walker in the City team so it's possible Pep may use Cancelo on the left.

he's not a threat to Zinchenko, just competition for Walker, however, I wouldn't be surprised if Laporte played left back at times, Pep's done it plenty of times before

I'd say he's a massive threat to Zinchenko tbh.

not in my view, when he can just play Laporte there, a natural left footer

Man City bought Cancelo because he was the best full back available. Left backs are a limited supply because of the fewer left footers.

            Bye Bye Zinchenko

Why would he play Laporte there who is their best centre back when they can play Cancelo there? This stops Pep having to play Laporte out on the left. I'd say Zinchenko is done after GW 2/3.

I'm glad your confident, I can easily seeing him ousting Zinchenko because Zinchenko is just not that good I'm afraid.

Definitely a threat to full backs on both sides, moreso Walker.

Pep dropped Walker after a few calamities last season. My guess is he's eased in as a utility player but when everyone's fit and we're into October Walker will find himself warming the bench, he's found out too often.

Anyone seriously even considered Doherty? 6.0 for a Wolves defender is laughable

    Hello dz!

Can't wait for more details on the Luiz transfer. I thought that may impact my team going into gw1: Zouma looks like a valuable asset and possibly Leno too if our defence is "strengthened" with the purchase.

Zouma's price is nice but I'm not convinced Chelsea will be a regular source of clean sheets.

Fair point. I feel that a top 4 squad's starting defender for 5.0m is too good to pass.

    Pope (Button)
    Robbo, VVD, KWP, Zinchenko (Lundstrom)
Salah, KDB, Moura, Tielemans, H Wilson
    C Wilson, Vardy (Wickham)

Will be playing 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 to start with. Zinchenko is a bit of a question mark now that city have signed Cancelo. Any suggested replacements there?

    Thoughts in general?

Hi Gents! Any advice of where to improve for gameweek 1 and beyond.

    This is where I am

    Pope (Heaton)
    Digne, TAA, LaPorte, Dunk, (Lundstram)
Sterling (vc), Salah (c), Fraser, Perez, (Dendoncker)
    Wilson, Murray, (Wesley)

Help is always appreciated, I don't think I've ever started this game well. I know Laporte isn't guaranteed to start so ill monitor that one.
