Thanks guys. Running the projected numbers, the optimization amongst those players and budget is actually:

E: Vardy, King, Perez, Van Dijk, KWP

Do you like that better? It involves a double-up on Leicester but otherwise, I think it's quite good..

Robbo is more nailed. Even if it's 5% more
Gomez has played in TAA's position when fit

    5. I Member
      • 10 Years

TAA slight rotation risk with Gomez and Matip fit. Robertson nailed as can be.

    6. Four Hit Wonder
      • 8 Years
      6 years, 6 months ago

Because people are totally and utterly obsessed with nailedness and would rather have a guy who scores 2 pts but plays 90 minutes every week than a guy who scores 185 pts from 27 starts.

There's a myth that TAA and Sterling aren't nailed enough, yet those two combined for 419 pts and are essential in FPL.

      TAA didn't play 9 games, so even a playing 4.5 bench def with only 2 pts per match would win 18 pts. 185 + 15 = 200.

I personally think TAA will soon add more goals to his tally, while Robbo never scores and is older so won't really become any better at this point. Limited skill set too.

      1. Four Hit Wonder

        185 + 18 = 203, sorry.

Agree with this obsession over nailedness, it's not the be all and end all, most players miss some games during a season.

I have Wilson Fraser and Moura. Hoping to smash GW1 so the hit in GW3 to lose all 3 won't hurt so much.
Plan is to take Fraser and Moura to something like Son and Barkley as I like the 9.5 KDB Son Pepe price point and it still covers the 7.5 to 8.5 slot if I feel like downgrading.

I decided taking a hit for basically a one week punt on Moura was stupid for about a week but last 2 days he is back in - can't resist a punt 🙂

Yeah that’s sound enough logic there, seems a good way to do it and offers going up or down with price.
I can’t resist a punt either haha! Could very well keep him, decision is gonna be pushed close to deadline eeek!

You have a player that gets a late flag and it's not visible of the default view of your my team page.
I think that's dangerous. 6 weeks of planning gets destroyed because something that was always there every other year is not.
I am talking the little triangles with yellow or red for flagged players. It's not there anymore - at least not for me.

The second one easily, particularly if you have other captaincy options. 5.0 doesn’t get you much in the midfield these days.

True. Problem is with all the other players I want, that 4.5 needs to play.

Trouble is there are no real decent 5.0 mid options and I wouldn't fancy starting a 5.0 or 4.5 mid myself as much as I fancy Auba!

Until Noble returns there's no good 5.0m mid.

      Beware Emery's rotation.

Ok seriously, why on God's green earth are people so high on Brighton defenders?

All i see is Dunk that, Duffy this, Montoya here, Ryan there. They can barely scrape together 100 points, why do you keep picking them?

I don't own any Brighton players but given Brighton's fixtures I can kind of see the appeal of Montoya under a new system/manager where he plays as a wingback in a 3-4-3, where he has no competition

Probably a better play than people with Villa and Sheffield defenders... just saying

His underlying stats are amazing. Wood is the obvious pick based on pre-season. But given the end of the 18/19 season, plus Burnley without Europa, if Barnes can pick up where he left off then he is one of the best value players in the game IMO.

    Heaton
    Robbo, VVD, Digne, Zinchenko
    Salah, Sterling, KDB, Perez
    King, Wood

Considering swapping Zinchenko, KDB, Wood for Montoya, Barkley, Auba but I'll most likely stand pat. Any thoughts?

    Current team with 0 ITB:

    Pope Heaton
    Robbo VVD Digne Montoya Lund
    Salah Sterling Fraser Perez Dend
    Wilson Haller Greenwood

Thinking of downgrading Fraser to a 7.0 mid and using the 0.5 to upgrade either Lundstram or Dendoncker.

Like the Haller punt, very solid 442 looking team. You could just stick with one of Pope/Heaton and bank that 0.5 though.

        Thank you!
Who would you keep out of Pope & Heaton? They both rotate nicely over the first 8 weeks or so though but the 0.5 must come from somewhere...

No need to rotate imo, just pick the wrong starter on numerous occasions which would wreck my head!
If I don't BB, think I'll go with Heaton as he's a FPL points magnet (albeit unproven at villa) and has good fixtures from GW2 to GW10.
If I BB, which I'm very tempted to do, I will start with both and downgrade one at some stage.

Think there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to 4.5 GKs, three equally good ones look to be Heaton, Pope and Henderson imo just pick one and stick it out!

I don't like GK rotation in general, and I think Haller will struggle to adapt to being the only striker in West Ham after playing as the central member of the front three with Jovic and Rebic. He'll be suffering from phantom team mates in early GWs. Will have no one to pass to.

Who would you prefer over Haller?
I have been playing around that position and could only come up with Jota, Wesley or Che Adams.

None of them really fascinate me.
