What are the chances that Gabriel come back with a goal in GW2 after being left on the bench for GW1?

He's probably guaranteed to start for the rest of the season now the Timber injury has been identified as an ACL tear.

TNT preferred it Saturday night to Sunday lunchtime or Sunday evening (had to be moved from Saturday lunchtime as teams can't play away in Europe on a Wednesday, and again Saturday lunchtime)

It would need to be a lot higher I think - particularly with Kane gone. If he was say 3m more then a Haaland team would look pretty much like Haaland + Salah teams do now, but with Saka/Bruno/Son/Rash in place of Salah. Haaland + Salah teams would look very ropey everywhere else and I don't think you'd see a lot of them. If Haaland is say £19m then teams without him will look a lot stronger than teams with him - probably with Salah cap.

If Kane was staying then Salah + Kane would be a tempting alternative at even a couple million more.

Some guy on twitter modeled it; a few years ago Salah had to be 20 million before he dropped out of the optimal squad. Haaland this year is less; he’s borderline at 15.5 and not in the optimal solve at 16 or above. But yeah he’s underpriced at current cost

Yes but not realistically. Think about all the small margins, luck and 50/50s you'd have to get right to win the whole thing with Håland. Rotating keepers and pick the right one every week, right captain and VC where necessary, navigate the blanks and doubles, right transfers, playing chips at the right time.

Last season I climbed from a few hundred k to just outside the top 10k which I felt was mainly driven by making lots of midfield transfers which immediately paid off (transferring in Son for his hat-trick, Maddison, Eze, Foden etc.) although fell away by the end. You'd probably have to do that in every position, all season long. But there would have been plenty of others making those moves too.

Only if Haaland performs a lot worse than last year. If not, you'll have to get very, very lucky with captain choices every week to keep up. It's that easy captaincy choice that's the killer.

If you're not on social media you could, in theory, have missed the news on Partey as he was never out of the team and major news outlets all seem to have abided by reporting restrictions (i.e. not naming him, which if you remember led to wild speculation on social media).

Greenwood has been named in the news, charges dropped, investigated by his own club and out of the team for over a year. Basically in United's hands now but could be a more intense reaction from fans and, as far as I can tell, there's no investigation to prejudice.

In America it is - either you're charged or you're not - and, yes, sometimes seemingly winnable cases for the prosecution can't go forward without witness cooperation, but that still doesn't mean the defendant is guilty...Yes, there's also the 'court of public opinion' to deal with and it sounds like no one believes he is innocent.

                  That's crazy to me.

She probably leaked it to show the world what he is. The the charges followed based on the leak. She later decided she didn't want to go ahead with a trial. Who knows why. Maybe the idea of going through what would have been a hugely followed trial in public was too much after having already suffered serious trauma.

I'm much more curious about why the charge didnt come until AFTER she publicly leaked it. Playing it to just the police should have been enough to get a case going.

The police chief constable statement all but said they were forced to drop it due to withdrawing witness and hoped it didn't put off other victims reporting abuse. It seems they wanted it to go ahead but what could they do?
I'm surprised utd are even considering it tbh. I expected better from them

There is no doubt about what he is. One can only imagine why the witness changed their mind.

Even from a purely business/financial perspective it seems like a mad decision to take him back. Surely for a club like Man Utd their global image, reputation and brand is equally important as results and continuing to associate themselves with Greenwood would damage that far more than they would gain from him as a footballer. The only reason I can think of is that there's some legal reason they can't just sack him as he wasn't convicted.

    Anyone on Sanchez?

With 4.5m as Chelsea keeper looks a steal to me!!
Or that’s because many think in double up chilwell and James?

Not sure on security of starts even if Kepa stays. If he goes they'll surely bring in a new keeper who's at least similar in quality to Sanchez

Kepa deals done and dusted. Going for Sanchez locks you out of owning Chilwell, James and Jackson who are top 3 to own for their run

    2. Bob B
      • 10 Years

Kepa's stats last season were very good and I'd argue they will be stronger defensively this season.
It could depend on which 3 you would want from potentially Chilwell, James, Colwill, Sanchez, Jackson & more.

This is my team. I am really tempted to pull the trigger on Enciso + Bruno >>Maddison Mitoma/Diaby/6.5 mid.

Is it too knee jerk? Should I wait until next week to avoid a points hit. Let me know what ye would do.

Presumably you chose your squad thoughtfully and with good reasons and not just with Gameweek 1 in mind? If so then back yourself for another week or two. No need for hits just yet.

I have Odegaard, Martinelli and Saka.

Would you keep all 3 to play vs Palace & potentially Fulham,

or move one on to jump on Maddison.
(The move will allow me to move my fodder up to Jackson next week, otherwise it will be for Pedro)

    Who to bench?
    A) Fernandes (TOT)
    B) Eze (ARS)
    C) Pedro (WOL)
    D) Martinelli (CRY)
    E) Jackson (WHU)

Reluctantly on Eze, but was always the plan to be honest.

I'd bench Eze too of those.

If he was Mbeumo (as in my team) it's even harder - currently on Pedro. Who would you bench then?

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 6 Years

Now, you see that's part of the reason I didn't go for Mbeumo 😆 (Although you're still better off!)

Would probably start Pedro as wolves have lower CS odds. Mbeumo may also be off the right rather than in a front two this next match (although that's not always necessarily terrible).

Leno is a great keeper too - although it's worth noting Fulham let up way too many shots last match, albeit most weren't really dangerous shots. Fulham are at home though & it's a West London derby!

Thanks for the advice. My other option and in my "Bus Team" I was benching Martinelli, but the upside is possibly higher to play him. I do like that Pedro and Mbeumo as they're both on penalties, but the chances of getting them in consecutive games is slim.

My other thought with Pedro is that 4 goals last week for Brighton and 4 different scorers - where as with Brentford it's generally going to be Mbeumo or Wissa
