Scout Notes

Scout Notes – Gameweek 10 – Monday

Burnley claim a narrow Monday night victory over Newcastle in an uninspiring match which rewards investors in the Clarets defence.

Here’s the Scout Notes from the final encounter of Gameweek 10…

Pope shines once again

Many Fantasy managers went into the Turf Moor clash hoping for clean sheets all round, with Newcastle United’s goalkeeper Rob Elliot the most owned player on show as part of 26.4% of squads.

But it was his opposite number who caught the eye.

Nick Pope has made six starts for Burnley since replacing skipper Tom Heaton against Crystal Palace in Gameweek 4. Over that time, Pope has made 31 saves, gathering seven save points and six bonus – more than any other FPL goalkeeper.

Another five saves accompanied last night’s display, as Pope picked up two bonus points via Burnley’s fourth clean sheet of the campaign.

Priced at 4.5 and with encouraging fixtures to come (sou SWA ARS bou lei WAT STK), Pope sits second in our current Watchlist rankings, just behind Elliot, the 4.2 option. He looks the go-to candidate for those looking to spend more than the Magpies stopper.

Indeed, Pope and Elliot work surprisingly well as a pairing, offering effective rotation until Gameweek 20.

Mee excels in Clarets back four

It was Ben Mee who picked up the maximum bonus points from Monday’s shut-out.

The centre-back top-scored for clearances, blocks and interceptions (CBI) with 15 and even supplied a key pass to score 32 in the Bonus Points System (BPS).

That left the rest of the Clarets back four trailing, though Matt Lowton shared two bonus points with Pope on 31 in the BPS.

Both Mee and fellow central defender James Tarkowski – also 4.5 – are in the top three defenders for CBI with Brighton’s Shane Duffy.

However, Mee looks to have the edge in the BPS having made 47 recoveries to Tarkowski’s 27. He also boasts 10 shots on goal, with nine in the box compared with his centre-back partner’s five efforts.

Stephen Ward still tops the Burnley ranks for bonus points on seven and leads the way in total BPS, though he has previously relied on open play crosses and key passes to stand out. He was subdued in that respect on Monday night, with just two failed crosses and one key pass supplied.

Little joy for Newcastle attack

Rafa Benitez will surely have concerns on his side’s failure to break down the Burnley defence.

Indeed, while the Magpies have amassed a reasonable 46 shots over the last four Gameweeks, they are the only team to have failed to conjure a single big chance – or gilt-edged opportunity – over that period.

This hardly promotes investment in their attacking assets, with both Matt Ritchie and Christian Atsu fading rapidly as fourth midfielder solutions. The pair boast just one assist apiece from their last five outings.

Meanwhile, Joselu has struggled to compete as a cut-price third striker option. He has registered five shots from his last four Gameweek starts, with just one effort on target – the rather fortunate strike against Liverpool in Gameweek 7.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Gameweek 10 Rough with the Smooth

Leave your tales of horror for Halloween here. Richarlison captainers welcome.

As well as your tales of joy. Anyone able to beat smooth operator Red Lightning for his Kolasinac (c) move?

Remember its what you did not what you didn't.

Defence (three clean sheets) and Leicester (Vardy goal) saved the day, following blanks for most of my City trio and captain Salah's missed penalty.

Also was sadly proved right re Richarlison's failure to score at home - away next though so hoping for a smooth there.

      Hazard, Azpilicueta, Ward, Pope.

Everything else...including Wimmer and RLC on the bench. 🙁

50 all out after last nights double cleanie feels like the great escape.

I also captained Kolasinac. Was gutted when Swansea took the lead and thought I'd made a big mistake as it was really the clean sheet I thought he was nailed on for with any attacking points a bonus. Worked out pretty well for once and has rocketed me up most of my leagues 🙂

Rough. Forced to play Free hit after getting stung by Thursday night shift/Friday morning transfers. Big hitters flopped massively. Sanchez, Richarlison, Silva, Jesus, Salah and Lacazette flopped.

Smooth - my make up the numbers guys returned. Gomez, Kola, Mee and Pope along with Sane saving my week

Rough: Played WC chip on a whim - obviously permature. Kane injury led me to bring in San(c)hez and also Lacazette due to lack of better options (errm Vardy and Firmino notably...). Sold Mee for Mariappa with the idea to have something in the bank for later. Decided to keep Silva over Sané after much rumination .WC team now looks definitively worse than what I started with.
Smooth: DDG + Jones sort of saving the gameweek.from total disaster

      Played a rough Wildcard

      Sold but would have played:
      De Gea - 9 points
      Kolasinac - 14 points
      Alonso - 6 points
      Ramsey - 9 points
      Loftus-cheek - 5 points
      Vardy - 8 points
      Lukaku - 5 points

      Brought in and played:
      Otamendi - 0 points
      Dann - 0 points
      Duffy - 1 points
      Richarlison - 1 points
      Choupo - 2 points
      Lacazette - 2 points

Jones on bench - 9 points
Tammy on bench - 5 points

I don't want to work out the points swing!

Bad luck! Assuming you would have played Jones over Carroll, DDG over Elliot and captained Vardy, you lost out on 42 points.

I lost 30 points on my WC. You win / lose!

I was happy with my team before, but only kept 4 players:

            ELLIOT (Fabianski)
            AZPI Alonso Kolasinac Cedric Davies
            ZAHA Sterling Loftus-Cheek (Carroll Cork)
            MORATA Vardy(c) (Kane)

            = 75 points

Despite the unpopularity of 523, Alonso and Kolasinac, I was only torn between whether to simply downgrade Sterling or Davies, or both. Having had my tooth extracted on Thursday, I felt like I needed a treat, and making early transfers would allow me to rest easy on Friday, and perhaps even make me some money in the transfer market finally (my usual patience has barely expanded my wallet past 100.0m).

So on Thursday evening I boldly sold Sterling, Davies and Cork for Coutinho, Richarlison and Mariappa for a double hit and a switch from two in the midfield to three.

Then Friday happened. Coutinho and Kane out would mean a lot of money on my bench. Plus there is the real possibility that neither Sterling nor Davies started. A free hit chip is out of the question, since it would take me back to the previous GW team with no Coutinho or Richarlison, and still the rotation risk liabilities of Sterling and Davies in my team. Besides I want to save the chip for future use.

So I end up spending my Friday stressing over the following WC team, being convinced by Community Watch Tournament team members to switch Vardy to Abraham at the last minute to afford my dream midfield (yes, responsibility is miiiine):

            ELLIOT (Speroni)
            AZPI Otamendi Ward (Daniels Mariappa)
            ZAHA Salah Silva Richarlison Gross
            MORATA Jesus(c) (Abraham)

            = 45 points

To make matters worse, team Reussia gave my team the captaincy in the CW Tournament, which led to our first defeat of the campaign. If I had been left on the bench (as every week so far), we'd have been competing with our opponents Salahmon Islands for top-scoring team of the week. What a horrible debut!

I felt like I'd been the dentist come Saturday night!

Crazy thing is I still feel like I have a better team.

De Gea, Kolasinac, Alonso, Ramsey, Loftus-cheek, Vardy, Lukaku.

At the time they all felt like players with bad fixtures, out of form, not nailed or to pricey.

I was also trying to be aggressive whilst hovering around the top 30k the last few weeks. Just didn't work out.

The problem is that I always feel like my team is better after transfers, but my points always decrease after the transfers! Hahaha

I estimate that the following transfers have cost me 86 points*:

                GW3: Iwobi > Cork = -8
                GW4: KDB > Mkhi = -13
                GW5: Bertrand > Mendy = -2
                GW5: Lacazette > Vardy = -7
                GW7: Mendy + Mkhi + Jesus > Azpi + Sanchez + Morata = -17
                GW 9: Sanchez + Chalobah > Sterling + Zaha = -9
                GW10: WC (-30)

                Total transfer cost: -86

Transfers are supposed to increase points right? I thought this WC would be the start of a new era, but it just trolled me instead hahaha. Aggression vs Patience is a battle that's hard to win.

*If I simulate the teams I'd have had without having made the transfers on a week-by-week basis - autosubs and (one) hit included - until the player was sold again, or I used the money in the bank, or WCed

      Rough:
      WCed to bring in :
Hennesey/(kept Elliot got rid of Foster)
      Mee/Tarkowski/Dunk/Francis/ kept3.9 (for Kolasinac/alonso/mbemba/cresswel)
      Dsilva(kept)/Sanchez/Salah/Richarlison/Gross (for Ritchie/Brady/TCarroll/Choupo
kept Aguero/Morata(for kane)/quaner (to enable Sanchez move)
      played 3-5-2 and capt Sanchez

Believed Hennesey would quickly reclaim spot from Speroni and now im stuck with a dropping and more expensive bench warmer.
Missed out on Kola/Alonso points both of whom ive had since gw1.
Sanchez topping "goals Imminent" and super differential was the main instigator for my WC
      Salah missed pen
Forced to move out of Kane when i had already made the Lukaku to Sanchez move so now im stuck not having either.
Aguero being benched was kinda expected but still hard to digest.
Forced to get stuck with cheapest available 15th player while having 2.4 ITB in order to finance the "Back to Kane" move for gw11 which unfortunately need to wait for a few more hours at least.

      GW rank: 3.1 million

      Rough: Free Hit Chip fail!
Sanchez (C), Lacazette, Richarlison, Salah penalty miss

Smooth: At least I brought in Sane, Kolasinac & Pope.

But, still perfomed worse than my original team. I honestly blame Sanchez and Lacazette for this failed chip. It was such a good lineup...

      Played my free hit:

Rough - Ditched Kolasinac (got Bellerin as I needed the 0.1m), Jones, Alonso, Abraham, Sterling. Brought in San(C)hez (would've otherwise captained Salah).

Smooth - Brought Sane and Pope in, still down 8 points on what I would've been.

I think I was just very unlucky tbh, on paper it could have been fantastic.

This week I doubled down and went

      Sterling (C) Richarlison (VC)

Rough: using my FT to transfer Agüero and Sterling (for Lukaku and Mkhitaryan) 6 days to the deadline to avoid price drops/rises, to see both play 2 hours of football midweek and to find out Kane and Coutinho injured on Friday to my horror... not to mention that Yoshida would also not feature... and taking my lesson...

Smooth: transferring Vardy for Kane ands VC'ing him (captain was Agüero). Then seeing Sterling score, Davis from subs replacing Coutinho to score, and finally Vardy as my captain to score...

49 points with 10 men and a drop from 35k to 45k only...

My decision to ditch Kane & Lukaku (spread the funds around) on my WC in GW8 continues to pay off, risen from 2.2m to 1.1m in 3 GW's. Sterling, Hazard, Gross, Abraham, Vardy, Sane all did well.

Rough - Aguero (C) didn't play and my choice of VC was Salah (taking a hit to ditch Coutinho) who was my lowest scoring Mid or Fwd. Literally any of the other 6 players I might have chosen would have got me more points.

Rough. Didn't want to sell Kane and gambled on Aguero getting atleast half an hour so kept him, had Hemed on the bench and for the first time ever for me, not one striker played one min

Took an 8 point hit to move to 442, only wanted long term moves for hits so did Eriksen and Tom Carroll to Salah C and Richarlison, thought if I'd at least cover the best looking C picks I might get away with it, both flopped.

45 (-8) terrible week, dropped down to 55k so not the end of the world but still a terrible week.

Haz ( 11 points) Coutinho (0 points and .1 price drop)
        Andy king - Richarlson

I did this last year to shop a rival on the scoutcast and it was read out much to Mark's ammusal! Given last week's ridiculous moves, i feel compelled to do it again:

He took out Lukaku (5), Fernandinho (13), Ramsey (9) and Stirling (7)
        for Diouf (1), Richarlison (1), Bakayoko (3) and Sanchez (2) FOR A -12!!!

I calculate that move cost him 39pts. If he did nothing those 4 get him 34 points, instead he took a -12 for his new four to get him 7 pts!

What a mug, please out him!

        Silva - Salah (C) - Richarlson - Eriksen - T.Carroll
        Diouf

Total 27 points after the hit. Painful week.

Rough: Bringing in Aguero & Richarlison and making the latter captain. First and last time i captain a player from a smaller team.

Pretty horrible - took my worst hit of the season, a -4 to get Salah for Hazard at a cost of 11 points. Got too caught up in the fear of high-ownership Salah getting a big haul.

Finished on 48 (-4), Lacazette captain, urgh. Bright points were Jones and Gros, that's about it.

        Smooth: The defence (41 points)
        DDG Jones Mee 9x3
        Kolasinac 14

Front line of Morata, Vardy, Firmino all delivered as well.

Rough of Sterling out for Sanchez(C) but happy with 74(-4)

Smooth: Ended week on 80 points and finished mini leagues as Manager of the Month after Hazard C, Sterling, Sane, Firmino, RLC, Jones and Ward got returns

Rough: Could have gone 1st in all Mini leagues if Morata could finish his dinner and convert those two big chances which would have yielded at least another 20 points. (12 from 2 Hazard assists + 8 from 2 Morata goals)

Rough; almost everything but watching Morata saturday was horrible, as last weeks Richarlison he left me with 5 points instead of a huge haul. Captain Laca was a punt gone wrong. Elliott lost cs meant my rival got Mee 3 bonus and i lost 4 points. ctually a bizzare one but if Brighton-Southampton had ended 0-0 i would have gotten max bonus from two defenders. Jesus eas rough, as he started and i thought, yes now is the day of returns, but no nothing. Those 3 points RLC got was mildly irritating as so many seemed to have him in as sub while i had him as 3sub. In danger of sounding a tad bitter i thin getting 10 points from three 10m strikers with one having the armband vs Bournemouth, West Brom and Swansea is almost as worse as it could get. Sil not believe it when i look at the score...
Smooth; brought in Sané. Jones CS and bonus is nice and ofc Ward was alright. My rival, in spite of me stinking strikers, actually lost out 2 points on me, so it was more OR that this week stunked. 990k, which is not awful but last three weeks has been so frustrating to watch as i have not picked wrong players but have had as in the case of morata and richarlison damn unluck

        Rough:
        Kane -> Lacazette(c) (-4)
I would have captained Salah instead if I hadn’t brought Laca in.
I would have played RLC if held onto Kane.

So 9 points and 2 free transfers lost (assuming Kane is fit this week and straight back into my team).
Interestingly enough one of the main reasons I took the hit to replace Kane was the lack of confidence that any of my bench players would start (RLC, Wimmer, King). I ended up with 5 & 7 on the bench from the first 2.

        Rough

First transfer out Hazard/Sterling for Coutinho/Salah (-4), then when realise kane/coutinho injuried i took free hit and create monster team who only get 50 point. Said "only" because at the end I realised that if I didnt change anything from the GW9 and leave Hazard (c) i could get 61 points, 2ft for this GW and would still have FH chip

Sane(c), plus points all round from Vardy, Sterling, Morata, Ward, Pope and D Luiz.

Overall a good GW with 73 (-4) points. OR up to 103k now.

After playing with the stats tools for the first time, I decided to use my 2 FT to do RLC+Hazard --> Richarlison+Coutinho thursday night before I expected a price rise for Richarlison. I had the exact money so could not risk waiting. Lost 13 points on that, and Coutinho still might not play this weekend. Great decision!

A bit of rough and smooth this week for me, but mostly smooth (not the norm this season) ... had two free transfers and didn't think I had any decent captain options. Decided I wanted to keep Kane. Really wanted Sane and decided to accept the risk and ditch Silva (didn't see it as sideways ... two totally different assets and I needed a captain and wasn't sold on Liverpool assets with Coutinho potentially out). So Silva, Loftus-Cheek and Davies went out for Sane, Richarlison and Mee. Started Kane just in case of a surprise and got Jones' 9 points off the bench (knew he would likely come on ... figured if Kane played, his chance of clean sheet was way down). Mostly smooth and will wait on Richarlison through these fixtures, but wish I had been brave enough to ditch Carroll instead of RLC (might have to correct that one in a couple weeks if nothing else is pressing). Scored 70 (minus 4) and jumped into top 100k for first time this year.

Thanks for all the work you guys do!

Rough: Pathetic early transfers in an aim to fix my WC. Lukaku/Jones > Kane/Bruno. Then ended up with Couts and Kane injured plus Aguero and Sterling rotation risks, so did Couts/Kane > Salah/Laca (c). Ended with -12.

Smooth: Despite -12, won my ML h2h thanks to Pope and Maguire, and now Laca > Kane and I'm set for this week 🙂

After a long consideration on Friday, I was not convinced at all of my captaincy choice, didn't have Salah, that would have been my first choice for sure, Richarlison, Vardy, and City players (obvious risks here) I was not feeling confident with.

So I started to look at my defense for options, I thought this might be a good week to look at one of my expensive wingbacks still in the squad, haven't considered this path before as I'm always a bit iffy relying purely on a CS. But low and behold, a big muscly Bosnian Hulk stood out to me in a home game against Swansea.

Started looking into it more, Arsenal with the excellent home record against lower sides, Swans with one of the worst attacking stats away from home. Being reminded of all their buses and lorries they bring with them away from home especially against big teams, this seems as nailed on as you can get for an Arsenal CS. Then of course I considered Sanchez and his impact on Kolasinac's attacking prospects, but then I realized if Swans will be sitting so deep, Kola will be up there anyway to whip in the crosses and maybe put in one of his Hulk Smash Shots from range.

So in the end, with the strong odds of a CS, and a fairly solid potential for an assist/goal, I captained Kolasinac. People called me mad, crazy, "see you in the rant thread", but I decided in the end this is a good week as any to take a risk on my captaincy. So immensely proud of my decision and reasoning, propelled me straight into the top 100k

I am one of those who decided to hit the free hit chip, Kane was the deciding factor in pressing the button.

Worked out well though, 70 points as apposed to 44. Pope and Mee were the big difference. Just a shame Jesus & Lacca couldn't deliver.

Rough week here. Richarlison captain, which speaks for itself. However, I also transferred out Jesus and Hazard (yes, I know!) for Aguero and Coutinho before the price rises with my two free transfers. Aguero doesn't play, and I later find out that Coutinho is injured. However, on the bright side, Pope's nine points were very handy, as well as getting Fuchs off the bench, which restore a little respectability to my meek score of 37. Valuable lesson, wait for press conferences.

Am I a twat? (Rough with the rough)

Took a free hit chip to get 65 points, only trouble is my Coutiniho & Kane team would have got 61..

Team: Pope, Azpi, Jones, Lascalles, Ward, Sane, Stirling, Richarlison, Jesus(c), Abraham. Subs Couit, Kane, TCarrol

FHT: Pope, Azpi, Jones, Kola, Richarlison, Salah, Sane, Sanchez, Jesus(C), LacaC90 & Okazaki subs 4.0, 4.0 + 4.5

Captain decisions letting me down all season so far....

        Smooth:
9 of 11 players returning more than 2 points, including kola, RLC, Gross, Jones, Vardy, Ward, Sterling

Jumped 200k+ to just over 100k with a score of 69 (-4), and moved to top of my money league.

All in all, an absolute blinder of a week for me!

        1) Did Mark identify a system or a pattern to Pep's rotation in Saturday night's kneejerk article? Does it centre around the 30 minute cameos from the bench?

        2) Does the official advice on avoiding premium goalkeepers need to be changed?

        1. Pep says
          • 8 Years
          6 years, 6 months ago

If Pope had played all season he'd be on 49 pts, (37 + Heaton's 8pts + 4pts for the clean against Palace which neither Pope nor Heaton received due to minutes played)

Now, consider the very difficult away fixtures that Burnley faced in GW 1,3, 5 and 9. Let's say you played Elliot.

You would have a score of 56pts from your GK, only 5 behind DeGea.

And I'm aware that he hasn't been in goal all season so it's not a real scenario but going forward, it's good data to work with. He's the new Heaton for me until the old one returns..

I like the way that De Gea Is set and forget. Pope looking great value at the moment though, if only he was No 1 and didn't need a transfer out in future.

Quite a few teams with cheaper defensive options now appear to have a nice run of fixtures (Bournemouth and Burnley for example) which defence would you prefer to invest in over the next six

Who will be on penalties for Liverpool ?
We saw chaos before the penalty was taken and en Salah missed.
        Options are -
        1) Milner
        2)Firmino
        3) Sturridge
        4) Salah ??
        5 ) Henderson

They should give them back to Milner. No idea why he lost them in the first place - he's an excellent penalty taker.

He was until he missed a key one to Forster late in the season. He's no longer 1st choice so makes perfect sense to have a 1st choice player take them.

Klopp said he probably should of went with Studge but Salah was the hot hand with the key Egypt penalty. But again this is a problem because Studge is not 1st choice.

Hoping he goes back to Firmino as he's had success before and plays the most minutes but maybe Studge is next man up till he loses his place after the international break.

1 - Is this seasons fpl the hardest to manage so far?

2- Is pure luck much more integral to having successful game weeks?

3 - Options in every positon, fpl towers keeping prices more or less affordable and a good range of points scoring players, is there ever going to be a template?

4 - Is the midfield going to eventually prevail as the best option, as it has done in previous seasons?

Hypothetically- if you could guarantee a Man City mid would play 100% of the time- is there a better option there than Sane?

Admittedly its a big if, but if he's the most THREATENING when he's on the pitch would it be MAD to go without (IN)SANE?!?!?

Agüero- City scoring plenty, on penalties, worth the extra money over the midfielders?

If so, could Kane Lukaku Agüero be the way to go from GW12?

Or two premium strikers and spread the money around? Hazard is another consideration.

        Matt Ritchie- worth keeping?

        Ben Davies- worth keeping?

        1) Many have Silva and one of Sterling or Sane to minimize the rotation risk but Silva hasn't been delivering. Is Sterling and Sane double up risky? They do score well even if they don't start.

        2) Those with a strong defense and a good bench did well this GW yet again. Is Jonty still going to funnel all the money from his defense to midfield?

        3) Does FPLTowers know about the community's frustration of the price changes system? Can it be communicated to them through FFS? Surely our community isn't the only one disliking the new system. We need some transparency.

I think it would be good if the scoutcast dedicated some time to discuss Ruth's recent hot topic on price manipulation, and more importantly, how do we exploit it to our advantage?

Secondly, who are your budget defenders of choice for the next 6-8 gameweeks? I'm considering Daniels, Francis, Tarkowski, Kiko Feminia, Dann (already own Mee and Wimmer), who would your favoured one be, and am I missing anyone obvious on my shortlist?

        1. Solenya
          • 12 Years

Sticking to budget defenders, the stoke defense (esp. Wimmer) was touted as the perfect rotation mate for our quintessential Burnley defender. I was never fully convinced with Stoke defensively but they straightaway seem a lot more solid with Shawcross back. Who's the pick of the bunch in the Stoke defense then? Shawcross himself at 4.9 seems the most nailed on option but are there cheaper alternatives that won't be dropped atleast in the near future? Or do we look elsewhere, say, at the Brighton defense?

Since GW3- what I would describe as each team's main goal threat has scored in almost every game against Everton:

        3- che Morata Ga
        4- TOT Kane x 2G
        5- manU Lukaku Ga
        6- BOU King G
7- BUR Hendrick G (exception to the rule)
        8- sou Gabbiadini 2G
        9 ARS Sanchez Ga
        10 lei Vardy G

        11 WAT Richarlison????

Is a certain irrationality preventing sensible defensive double ups? It seems to me that there are a lack of these in teams in my league, teams on here, and in my team. Before the start of the season, we would have been confident about United and Burnley being defensively strong. As the season has proceeded this has become increasingly obvious. Ward, Lowton, De Gea, and Jones have returned 208 points between them - for a combined initial cost of 19.5. So 208 points at the cost of 1 and a half Kane's (63 points). Obviously this is a retrospectively defined selection, but nonetheless most of us would have had United as our top premium defence this season and Burnley as our top budget defence.

What to do with Spurs full backs? They're the best attacking defenders to have in the game.

Davies is now apparently a rotation risk, I like Spurs' fixtures up until New Year, with perhaps the exception being City away, and I'm convinced Danny Rose is on the way to United.

Trippier has done brilliantly, but again worried about minutes with Aurier there.

Is it even worth considering getting both Rose and Davies, seeing as neither can play right back, and perhaps keeping Rose when he goes to United?

With great fixtures for the rest of the year is it time to invest in Everton, in particular is Calvert-Lewin the ideal third striker.

At 5.0m he is cheaper than Abraham and had more shots at goal over the last 4 GWs

what do you mean viable alternative? Aguero will play more than Jesus. Either way, Jesus shouldn't even be considered. He will get rotated, and even if he plays there are other players i.e. Aguero, Sterling, Sane, David Silva and De bruyne that are cheaper and can get more points. This doesnt sound like good value at all. Especially when he wont be captainable since you cannot guarantee him starting in the squad. If there isnt a third striker you like such as Firmino, Vardy or Abraham, then aim for Quaner and 352/442

I have Kane, Morata, Jesus and will get rid of Jesus for Lukaku before GW12

          So, no.

Imo, from GW12, best options are
          A. Kane, Lukaku, Abraham
          B. Kane, Lukaku, Morata

If you want City 'attackers', best thing to do is a double up Sterling+Sané.

In your opinion is an FPL pairing of Sterling and Sane better than KDB and Silva. The latter two get more minutes, however, Sane and Sterling's explosiveness make it hard not to put them in with their potential to get points even with 15-30 minutes off of the bench?

Then when they do play 90 min games it's a bonus. Would love to hear what you guys think.

Time to go Big 3 upfront with:
        Kane, Lukaku, Morata?

Lukaku ideal captain GW12-13 (NEW BHA). Morata ideal captain for GW14-15 (SWA NEW). Kane ideal captain for GW16-17 (STK BHA).

Well yes, rebrand the Scout picks and use a 100 mil budget would be useful - am I right in thinking the picks team has a lower value?

Are the Scout picks generally one GW wonders or sensible picks for a spell?

I would leave Kane alone this week. Even if he plays tomorrow that does not mean he is needed against Palace. If he don't play tomorrow does that mean he will not be risked against Palace. ??

Is this the season, where there aren't any forget and set players?
so much variability in the performance of the players, and when you factor in rotation into that, its become a very tough ask, to figure out your core group of players that you will definitely want.

        1) Can we shun premium defenders altogether? I'm considering a backline where Jones is the most expensive option:

Jones (Swans and Brighton rotation) Leicester (Newcastle Burnley def or GK)

        2) Morata or Hazard for the upcoming run? Paired with Gross or Abraham respectively.

        3) With Pogba returning soon, can we get him instead and skip Lukaku?

Are city strikers Jesus/Kun best to be ignored for value city mids as coverage considering it hurts less if sub 8mn mid dont start compared to sub 11mn forward? Wont the extra money from city forward be best utilized to strengthen bench for hectic december?

Should Jones be the first name on our team sheet for the rest of the season? United are likely to keep clean sheets against lesser teams, while Mou is always going to play for a 0-0 or 1-0 against the bigger sides.

Been getting small green arrows with very few hits, but my TV is tumbling. Could be down under 101 by the end of the week.

Should I be more aggressive to try and avoid this, or is it a case of just riding the price falls to avoid taking hits?

If we learned anything last week it's to wait for mid week games at the very least, if not presses, before making decisions. My transfer value is also around the £101M mark which hurts, but better that than buying aguero, coutinho, kane prematurely.

My TV is only 101.2 but I don't mind too much. I've been making transfers on Fridays this season and that allowed me to navigate the Kane (injury) and Aguero (rotation) situations perfectly with 2 FTs, rather than taking hits.

We are delaying it to see if we can get a bit more info on Kane.

Its an unusual week where a fit Kane would do well. Would be pointless putting it up now and then find out Kane is ready to go v CPL / or indeed completely ruled out.

People talking about DeGea being the standout option in goal but consider this.

If Pope had played all season he'd be on 49 pts, (37 + Heaton's 8pts + 4pts for the clean against which neither Pope nor Heaton received due to minutes played)

No, consider the very difficult away fixtures that Burnley faced in GW 1,3, 5 and 9. Let's say you played Elliot.

You would have a score of 56pts from your GK, only 5 behind DeGea.

The thing is that DDG would be a fire and forget option until the second WC. Pope is a transfer waiting to happen when Heaton is back, plus you will always be debating whether to play him or Elliot and thus start the wrong GK on a few occasions.

That said I’ll most likely do Forster > Pope soon but I’ve got my WC in my pocket.
