FPL relaunches with unlimited transfers for all managers

Fantasy Premier League has re-launched ahead of a return to playing action later this month.

The top-flight of English football will be back on our screens from Wednesday, June 17 and we now have confirmation of how our favourite Fantasy game will follow suit.

The game makers have formally announced the next deadline, at 17:00 BST on June 17, will be for an unprecedented ‘Double Gameweek 30+’ rather than ‘Double Gameweek 39’.

More importantly, it has also been revealed that, between now and the beginning of Double Gameweek 30+, all Fantasy managers will have access to unlimited transfers.

They will be able to make as many changes as they like to their current squads without incurring points penalties, just as is the case at the start of any new season.

This means that, in accordance with FPL rules, the second Wildcard chip will be unavailable for Gameweek 30+. However, anyone wishing to deploy a Bench Boost or Triple Captain will be able to do so. The Free Hit chip is also available for Double Gameweek 30+. If deployed, a manager’s squad would revert to how it was left for Gameweek 38 when Gameweek 31+ arrives.

The second Wildcard can be used from Gameweek 31+ onwards.

Managers may also want to proceed with caution when removing players from their squads compared to unlimited transfers over the pre-season. That is because prices of all Fantasy assets remain the same as they were following the Gameweek 38 deadline on Sunday, May 17.

That means Fantasy managers would lose money if they were to sell a player they made a profit on and subsequently brought him back into their squad.

      Not bad at all. Personally I'm wary of going without Liverpool players but if you're comfortable with that then it's very good.

    Know there's no way to keep everyone happy but feeling pretty ripped off as someone who lost WC using it in 29 and had a bad week because of Covid and now everyone has unlimited transfers to get a similar team to me for the DGW!

    As an owner of Salah and Mane with good value tied in both, which do we reckon is the best option for the season run in? Going to have to sell one for my BB but in order to not lose too much value with my WC in gw31 I probably want to keep one so I can have him for the season run in, thoughts?

    All head-to-head leagues ended in Gameweek 38, however, #FPL managers can create new H2H leagues for the remaining 9 Gameweeks in the normal manner

    Classic leagues will continue as usual through to Gameweek 38+

    Could I ask if Heaton will be back in squads ... he was dropped out of the PL squad by the manager in January as the injury was until after the end of the season. But given the season had a "pause" he is now fit again?

    Same for Wesley too I think.

    The relegation battlers might have had a good opportunity to refresh and refocus. Could be some bargains to be had.

    BB followed by WC seems to check out. Save a couple of the big TV tied up players if you want them back.

    FH could be priceless in GW38.

    Would it be smart to use the unlimited transfers now to set up for the run in but also use FH for a stacked DGW team?

      yes and yes - the big winners are those who
      - Don't have a wildcard left
      - Have free hit
      - Have a team already setup for the run in
      - Don't have benchboost left

      Alas I still have my wildcard and bench boost so I either
      - Gain no benefit at all from free transfers and deploy free hit - left with wildcard and benchboost with not a lot to use them for.
      - use the free transfers for 1 week only with bench boost then wildcard week after - leaving bench boost

      Can't help but feel relatively speaking those who saved chips gain nowhere near as much as those with just a free hit left.
