Which Spurs players are worth owning in FPL this season?

Tottenham Hotspur players are causing some Fantasy Premier League managers dilemmas at the start of the season.

They have a favourable opening fixture at home to Aston Villa but with a trip to Manchester City in Gameweek 2 and relatively expensive price points, their assets could be the ones to miss out on those initial teams.

However, there are some encouraging reasons to own some of Mauricio Pochettino’s players at the start of the new campaign.

In this article we assess Spurs’ defensive and attacking potential based on last season’s underlying statistics.

As this analysis uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Which of the below teams do you think is the most flexible...A with Kane as a premium forward price point but a weakened defence and mid (Barkley) or B with a stronger defence and mid but no premium forward price point?

    A

    Pope (Button)
Robbo, VVD, Zinchenko, Dunk, Catchcart (Rotating 4.5s)
    Sterling, Salah, Perez, Barkley (Dendoncker)
    Kane, King (Greenwood)

    B

    Pope (Button)
    Robbo, VVD, Zinchenko, Digne (Lundstram)
    Sterling, Salah, KDB, Perez (Dendoncker)
    Jota, King (Greenwood)

Nice team. I'm not sure about Robinson and Wesley, maybe upgrade on to King? Or maybe look to defence for some value in a 4.5/5 bracket?

I've got basically same team with King and Montoya over Wesley and Robinson.

Very template but I feel my other version w/ Heaton, Sterling, Coleman & Moura made for only one City which makes me feel exposed? Also, not sure if Sidibe is going to take playing time from Coleman?

    Ederson (4.0)
    TAA / VVD / Montoya / Digne / (Lundstrom)
    Salah / KDB / Richarlson / Robinson / (Dendoncker)
    Abuya / Wood / (Greenwood)

Who are you guys looking at for captaincy in GW2, and are you planning around that at all? I'm assuming Salah is a given for most of us in GW1 but GW2 is a fait bit trickier.

Spurs and Man City face off which diminishes their players appeal a bit (though you could still see the likes of Aguero/Sterling/Kane posting big scores). Liverpool are away to Southampton and on the back of the Super Cup. Arsenal have quite a nice fixture v Burnley but then have nasty ones afterwards so i'm not sure Auba/Laca will be in that many teams and there to take advantage of that tie. Utd and Chelsea fixtures aren't ideal, and it's not yet clear who the most explosive options might be there.

I guess at the moment I'll be pretty happy with Salah again but can see myself being tempted by a punt from a less fancied team with a plum fixture.

It isn't far of fitting the mould of the 'perfect team' but that is 352 with less budget up top.
      Vardy > £4.5m
upgrade Taylor and spend rest of leftover money upgrading Dendoncker to a play mid/high range player like Bilva.
